The breakfast buffet is one of the neatest, most luxurious things you will experience. There are saunas in the basement as well as a few pieces of fitness equipment. Restaurants, bars and shopping literally around the corner. Check in was easy and friendly. Staff were very kind. Lounge is comfy. We used Bonvoy points so I can't comment on pricing. Car park on site for 22€ for overnight. Our room was 114. Upgraded due to being a Bonvoy Lifetime Titanium Elite member. Breakfast was included. Room was luxurious. Nice robes and linens. Extremely quiet. Garden view. Balcony off our room but it was cold and rainy so we couldn't use. Only negative is Hitler stayed here way back when. This is like staying at Mar-a-Lago now days!

Loved this hotel! We…read morehad a great view of the train station and the square in front of it. It was a bit noisy given the location of our room, but all in all, it was fine. The bathroom, albeit outdated, was very clean. Downstairs is a huge lobby with a piano. The restaurant is wonderful. I ate there twice and both meals surpassed my expectations and were reasonably priced for such an experience. Customer service was great. This would be the hotel of my choice when in Weimar.

We stayed at this B&B last night and the reasons for giving just three stars are somewhat complex…read more I'd made the reservation through Booking.com because that was the only method (and credit cards aren't accepted here, but certainly that was no problem). I e-mailed the owner (who was the wife half of the couple [we never saw the husband when we were there]) and she responded soon & pleasantly - although her English wasn't good and I needed clarification about something, to which she promptly responded. A few months later - when we were getting close to departing for Germany - I had some other questions and I e-mailed her, but I never received a response. After waiting two days, I called Booking.com - and the (pleasant) person called the owner, who said she'd never received my e-mail (although I'd received my bcc copy immediately). I then resent the e-mail while we were both on the phone with the person from Booking.com and she said she still didn't receive it. I sent it yet again and that time she received it. She responded promptly - but she didn't answer one of the important questions, and her English was almost unintelligible re: my other question. I responded and explained the situation, but she never responded. After waiting two days, it was then just one day before our departure for Germany (six days before our arrival in Weimar) and I wanted Booking.com to resolve the problem - so I called them and a (NOT-so-pleasant) person called the B&B. She then told me a man had answered (presumably he was the husband), and he told her (very UNpleasantly) that he didn't speak English. She then connected me to a colleague who was fluent in German and that woman called the B&B. The man answered again - and when the woman from Booking.com began explaining the situation, he HUNG UP ON HER. The wife NEVER responded to my e-mail, so I decided it was hopeless to try e-mailing her again. Meanwhile, we arrived yesterday at the planned-on time (in late morning) - and she never mentioned my e-mails or her husband, and neither did I. Initially she was quite brusque (which certainly didn't surprise me). We left our luggage and quickly returned to the train station (via taxi), as planned - and later we returned after an early dinner. Upon our return, another (German) couple were talking to her outside and we joined the conversation. They were fluent in English & were very friendly, and the proprietor was very impressed that I speak some German ("easy conversation" level only) without having studied it. Between that and the other couple's friendliness, the proprietor's coldness completely melted and she became very friendly. We stayed in what was actually a suite, although the bathroom was across the hall (but it wasn't a shared bathroom). We knew in advance that there wasn't any shampoo (I'd asked), but strangely there was no soap in the shower. The shower was also an incredibly constricted space (seriously, you can't be real heavy and use it) and there's a sort of step up into it. The mattress was o.k. and the place was very quiet, plus the rooms & bathroom were very clean. WiFi and breakfast were included in the price of 72 euros (the WiFi connection was fine), and the breakfast was nicely laid out on a sideboard (buffet style) at the appointed time. It wasn't lavish, but it was tasty and the coffee was very good. The breakfast room is a good size (we were the only ones eating at that time) and it's filled with plants & has a skylight. One other thing: there's a long/steep set of stairs leading up from the street and a lot of stairs to the second floor rooms (although the proprietor carried our large/heavy piece of luggage for us when we arrived).
