This is a gorgeous, historic hotel. The rooms are clean, comfortable, spacious, and very quiet. I love that the windows open. The breakfast buffet is one of the neatest, most luxurious things you will experience. There are saunas in the basement as well as a few pieces of fitness equipment. November 2025: Very nice hotel. Historic. Beautiful old building. Location is incredible, especially to attend the Christmas Market right out the front door. Restaurants, bars and shopping literally around the corner. Check in was easy and friendly. Staff were very kind. Lounge is comfy. We used Bonvoy points so I can't comment on pricing. Car park on site for 22€ for overnight. Our room was 114. Upgraded due to being a Bonvoy Lifetime Titanium Elite member. Breakfast was included. Room was luxurious. Nice robes and linens. Extremely quiet. Garden view. Balcony off our room but it was cold and rainy so we couldn't use. Only negative is Hitler stayed here way back when. This is like staying at Mar-a-Lago now days! read more

Man, do I love the Hotel Elephant. Not only is the key chain an elephant, but the suite is beautiful. This hotel is very old and very fancy. Because of this, there are a lot of older guests there, but it's such a nice experience staying there. It really makes me feel like I'm in Weimar, and Goethe or Schiller might possibly show up. ;) Also, they have bicycles that can be rented. We rented two for the day, and it was awesome. We rode down to Goethe's garden house and then around town. It really made the trip way more fun than the other times I've been in Weimar. read more

On the surface it's really nice, but it doesn't smell good in the rooms. If you're sensitive like me for these things you should look for something else, but i honestly don't know if you'll find anything better in weimar. Pretty town but it has a weird smell to it. read more

We just spent four nights at the hotel and had a wonderful time. Actually this is both a modern well- run, practical, four-star hotel and an amazing, somewhat disturbing historical monument. Dating back centuries, it became one of Hitler's favorite hang-outs, and he personally helped design its rebuilding in the late thirties. At the same time, Thomas Mann set his anti-Nazi novel, Lotte in Weimar there. Just about anybody who was anybody in European cultural history has stayed there some time or other. So the place is saturated in memory...like Weimar itself. But as I say, if all you want is a great breakfast, comfy rooms and friendly service, it has that too. read more
