My daughter and I have been waiting patiently for an opportunity to go prom dress shopping. It's…read morebeen hard to coordinate schedules as we live in Maryland but I have been here in Pa caring for my mom who was diagnosed with leukemia a couple of months ago. Finally, this weekend, the stars aligned & my husband was able to bring our daughter to Pa so we could go shopping. We were even more excited when we realized that my sister & my niece (who is also going to her prom) were able to come with us as were my best friend and her daughter who needed an 8th grade dinner dance dress. We made a plan and I chose Miller's after a quick search online. We hoped that my mom would be able to come & watch both of her granddaughters try on gowns but unfortunately, she was readmitted to the hospital yesterday. When we arrived at the store, my daughter ran from the car with excitement and was immediately greeted my a very sweet young lady inside. She was situated in a dressing room and trying on two beautiful gowns within minutes. Everything went down hill from there. My best friend was already there when we arrived & was in one of the dressing rooms helping her daughter. My niece was feeling a little unsure and couldn't find anything she wanted to try on. My sister who used to work at a bridal shop was doing a great job helping my daughter with her dresses (pulling them tighter so she could see how they would look if fitted properly). We noticed that another young girl trying on dresses had one of the dresses that my daughter had seen online and very much wanted to try on. I asked the salesgirl if this would be possible & I was told no. She would have to wait until the other girl was done with it. I thought this was strange as she didn't even ask the other girl if she wanted it. We would have been happy to order it if the other girl wanted the one in stock. Unfortunately, we never even got the chance to find out if she liked it. Shortly after this, a woman barged in to the dressing room area and rudely demanded that we go outside the dressing area and wait for my daughter. My sister and niece were upset but they obliged. I refused at first and tried to explain to her that I was going to stick close and help my daughter. She told me this was not allowed, they had people to help her. I informed her that they really weren't doing a good job of that but I did go out & my sister & I decided to leave. I called in to the dressing room to let my friend know that we would be leaving because we had been thrown out of the dressing room. We proceeded to wait for my daughter who had no idea where we went. When she came out to model a beautiful dress that she was loving, I let her know that we would have to leave and find it somewhere else. While we waited, the rude woman confronted us 3 more times. I let her know that we would be leaving. She asked why I felt the salesgirls weren't helping & I told her my daughter was told she couldn't try on a dress that she liked. Her response was the icing on the cake. She had the gall to say "Oh, was she too big for it?". My daughter is tiny, not that it matters, this would never be appropriate. It is offensive. She also informed us that there is a sign explaining their dressing room policy. We hadn't noticed. It's small & posted above the dressing room door. This entire time, no one even tried to help my niece. No one tried to make her feel comfortable or suggested a dress that she might feel comfortable in. My friend remained in the dressing room and was never asked to leave. We did all leave and we went to MB. We had an amazing time there. Thankfully, the day was salvaged. My daughter found a gorgeous dress there. I want Miller's to know that between these 3 young ladies, they potentially lost over $1,000 in sales today for absolutely no reason. I hope that it was worth it to them. Had we been treated with respect, this could have ended differently. All that abhorrent woman had to do was respectfully explain their policy and we would never have been upset. This is also something the salesgirls could explain when you are greeted at the door. I still wouldn't have liked it, but I would have followed suit. I will never shop this store again and will advise everyone I know in the area to avoid it as well.

I went to millers with full intentions on buying a prom dress and hopefully shoes and accessories…read more I was with a group of people, me and two other girls who also had intentions on buying a dress and three boys to help us make our decisions. I will say that we may have been a little more then they are used too and I could see/understand if they got frustrated or confused. But The woman in charge was awful to us from the start. We all choose about 5 dresses we liked. Anyone who has ever tried on dresses knows that sometimes it's hard to find the right size since we are all shaped differently. After trying on two of the dresses I realized that I would need a bigger size. I asked the girl helping me ( who was amazing and extremely helpful) if she wanted me to put the dresses back before getting the new ones, she told me no that she would do it, it was fine. So I went out and picked more dresses in a size up while I picked three more because I really wasn't sure if they were gonna fit. One of three of those dresses fit and I absolutely loved it. But I continued to look at my options the woman gave me an attitude and asked if we could pick less dresses because our piles were getting a little big and "it would be hard for the girls to put back" which I can understand but once again I asked the girl if she wanted me to put them back and she told me no. The woman was extremely insensitive to our frustration trying to find the right sized dress and something we loved. After I choose the dress I wanted, I saw a pair of Steve Madden shoes that I thought would pair with the dress amazing I wasn't sure if I could try them on so I asked a girl who told me "I'm sure you can but make sure with one of the other girls" so I went to the backroom and asked one who told me I could so I continued to get the shoes and try them on again the angry woman comes to the back gives me a nasty look and tells me to be very careful they are expensive THE SHOES WERE $140 insinuating that I couldn't afford the shoes and I was just playing around.I assured her that I would be very careful that I loved the shoes. after trying them on and I went to take them back and the woman returned saying "next time can you just ask before trying them on" obviously she didn't know I asked already so I told her that and the girl who told me I could tried them on also told her I could try them on. She gave me a bother dirty look, rolled her eyes and walked away. DO NOT SHOP HERE. MB prom is way nicer and would never treat you the way I was treated today. I will be buying the dress AND the shoes at mb prom.

The first time I came by myself and…read morehad a very specific idea of what I wanted, and Kim listened to me, saw my reactions, and gently nudged me towards a dress that was totally different from my vision, but ended up being The One. It's a smallish shop, but they have a lot of inventory, including larger sizes. (A bane of most brides' existence, especially if you're over a street size 14.) Kim and her staff made me feel like a queen every time I came in! It was a bit of a drive for me because I live in Pittsburgh, but it was well worth it. Thanks, Kim!

Giving one star because 0 is not an option…read more This is a review for Kimberly James bridal but of course it's not pulling as a business on Yelp. Although the purchasing and several options were great, the overall experience was NOT appropriate. The owner managed to make inappropriate body comments for not only the bridal party but also the bride. What the heck? In what world is it okay to make comments about a stranger let alone your most important money maker - THE BRIDE. Getting ahold of the owner/having calls answered and returned was stressful and a hassle. We are in Small town PA, not LA or NY you can answer the damn phone, there isn't a line waiting to get in. Alterations that are almost always needed and should not be shouted throughout the store. This group had average size girls and petite girls. No matter what end over or underweight comments are not welcomed. The owners side stories talking down about her other brides/clients were also inappropriate. Talking about how the bride doesn't want to come for her fitting because she doesn't think the girl lost the weight she wanted to. My guess is the bride is trying to find a backup seamstress to get this lady off her back. The dresses looked great at the wedding however you can get great dresses everywhere, but you can't get great customer service everywhere and I can guarantee none of us will be returning. We also have advised other potential brides away from this location. Every body type, age, color is beautiful. Find somewhere who will appreciate your uniqueness and make what is one of the most exciting pieces of planning your wedding day just that - EXCITING!
