Let me start by saying that, as a 30-something Emo Kid, I have loved Hot Topic all my life, but my last few experiences here have really been a bummer. I have always loved how friendly and accepting the staff is, but the past few times I have gone in and experienced rude teen behavior from the staff! Let me give you one petty example -- My favorite band is The Used. I have a HUGE tattoo on my forearm of the bands' logo and I was wearing a The Used shirt when I approached the desk to ask if they had received any of the new merch that The Used had just dropped and was advertised at Hot Topic... The gal working the front desk (Wearing all My Chemical Romance stuff -- only relevant if you know the drama between The Used and MCR lol) looks at my shirt, looks at my arm, and then goes "The Used isn't really relevant anymore, so we don't carry their merch" in super degrading and snotty tone... I thought it was sort of funny, especially since THEY LITERALLY HAD A SHIRT ON THE WALL... Anyways, there is one guy - I think his name is "Jay" or something similar and he is super friendly and helpful and definitely way better than snotty MCR girl lol.. he is almost always working and happy to help! read more

This location is not worth a visit. I went with my friends this evening and was accused of stealing something I had put away, Then the same person who accused me of stealing (some white guy with short curly blonde hair) told me that next time I need to put things away in the "correct area", isn't that his job!? If you wanna be made a fool in front of your friends or wanna feel like a victim of stealing, this place is the best place for that! read more

Five stars to hot topic just because they sell exclusive Pusheen's. As an adult I come here only to get Pusheen's for my wife. As a young man I used to love purchasing heavy metal band shirts. BEST STORE on the West Coast!! Michelle is incredibly attentive and passionate about her store. Each time I visit, I receive unparalleled service by her entire staff (and herself too!!). Her store layout is immaculate. She works tirelessly to ensure the floors are clear, racks tidy and the clothing and merch easy to locate, and navigate. She leads by example, and her team reveres her superior customer style and Hot Topic inimitable standard. I only hope her salary reflects her tremendous work ethic. She is never idle. Each team member under her direction individually and collectively provides exceptional service and insightful suggestions and assistance. I LOVE this store and look forward to my next visit. They have the coolest stuff! Maybe not the greatest prices- but we always leave with something cool!

Last time I was in, the Manager doesn't let you use coupons or hot cash even when the emails say "just show this email to the cashier"..... I have called customer service who told me this is inaccurate and to just call them when I headback to the store and they would speak to him if he declined to accept the email....no thanks. I will not shop here anymore, as BoxLunch provides much better service and the staff are friendlier. Same company but better environment. read more

I went here with my friends the other day and a tall white guy with bleach blonde hair insinuated that my friend was stealing when none of us would do that. I ended up buying a belt, but i wish i hadnt done that. I wish i had thrown the belt on the floor and walked out because when you dont show respect to your customers, you shouldnt expect any back. I am filled with regret that i was polite, and i WISH i had been a karen about it. I felt powerless in that moment and now the only thing i can do is leave a worthless yelp review. Being falsely accused of stealing makes you feel dirty and gross and he just got away with making us feel that way. He was pushy and rude to my other friends, telling them that they couldnt just stand in an area of the store while i was looking at stuff. This is why i regret giving them my money, because they clearly did not want it considering how we were treated. So basically if you see a tall white guy with bleach blonde hair working, dont go in unless you want to be constantly told that everything is 30% off, followed, and then accused of stealing. I know this review wont have any impact on anything but im angry and this is what i wish i would have said to him. read more

I always find myself at the back wall where all the pop funko toys are. I'm not gonna lie, I collect those. It started off with just Tupac, Biggie, and Flavor Flav, then after that anything cool ended up being part of my pop funko collection from Marvel to Disney to other cool stuff. Both of my boys like to shop here, so this is one of our usual stops when we visit the mall. My 11yr old is a Harry Potter fanatic so we usually come in just to browse around and we end up buying something here. They have a bunch of cool Harry Potter gear here as well as toys and just random things that are useless, but being a geek you still have to buy it just to have it.... for what? just because... don't judge hahah... "I solemnly swear I'm up to no good"! My 17yr old is big on Sonic the Hedgehog and Marvel, so he tends to end up with clothes here. What I like about this store is that they always have a bunch of sales, but you have to come at the right time. My 17yr old picked out this really cool jacket that was priced at $60 and when they rang it up, it came out to $25! What a steal! I've never had a bad experience with staff here. The staff is extremely friendly and always so helpful. Staff always look like they enjoy their jobs, which is awesome. I always like coming into a business where everyone looks happy, because that just means Hot Topic treats their workers great! They have their days where the store is a hot mess, but for the most part it's pretty tidy. I think it depends if they have a bunch of sales going on and when that happens, things just get thrown everywhere, but other than that... Hot Topic is cool in my books! read more

It's smaller than you're typical Hot Topic at the mall. Prices don't seem that much lower in comparison HOWEVER, this place always seems to have a sale/promotion such as a BOGO deal for 50% off the second purchase. All the employees were very sweet and helpful and tried to make small talk. That was nice. I don't usually get that at the mall counterpart. This location had a bunch of Dr. Who, Harry Potter, Disney and Star Wars memorabilia for the fanatics in your life. They had a whole wall dedicated to those Funko Pop toys. So if you're looking for a specific one, this store might just have it since they weren't as busy. read more
