    Chicken Soup for the Soul.

Great Jamaican food homestyle all the regulars like oxtail, chicken soup, ackke and salt fish and beef patty really makes yoi nostalgic for the ood country.

Ackee and saltfish with potatoes, and banana.

Hands down the best breakfast. I'm from Harlem, and have ordered and eaten at most restaurants. This one right here is pretty good. Also, you get your monies worth. Ackee wasn't salty either.

    Chicken wasn't fully cooked

I was kinda disappointed chicken was good but noticed it wasn't fully cooked Mac and cheese wasn't good was just orange macaroni couldn't even taste the cheese I didn't get the Plantains which was supposed to be a extra side when I ordered medium rice and peas were good I doubt I'll order again maybe in the summer when the jerk chicken is coming off the grill.

Stopped by right before closing and the service was great! Of course they were out of curry goat roti but that's no ones fault. Probably for the best since it was $14 which I think insane. I got a (clean) hole in the wall vibe from his place and that's how I knew it would be good. Lovely neighborhood feel. I appreciated the fact that the counter guy was super helpful since I was placing an order for someone else and they take credit cards! $14 roti or not I will be back to try it.

Jerk Chicken, Rice and Peas, Plantains, Beef Pattie

Delicious (and huge portion, for the money) plate of Jerk Chicken with rice and peas and a beef pattie on the side. It was delicious, spicy, and the beef pattie was out of this world! Will definitely be going back!

I tried to eat it but oil was everywhere!!

This is the worst experience I have had ever! I ordered ackee and salt fish and what I received was salt fish and onions. There was hardly any ackee to begin with and the food tasted mostly like onions - it was like they substituted ackee for onions or something. I just can't understand how they could send that out. When it arrived the bag was wet and oil had spilled everywhere! I had to get a tray to make sure I didn't mess up my kitchen. Then once I opened that bag there was oil everywhere!! I was still trying to be optimistic - hopefully the food would be good after but when I opened it, it didn't even smell like ackee!!! JUST ONIONS!!! and the dumplings and bananas were swimming in oil!!! SWIMMING!! I was so disgusted I couldn't even finish the food - I couldn't. I feel bad throwing food away but I would never recommend them, EVER!! It was such a horrible experience - ugh!

    Waste of $15

I ordered my food through Postmates and if it wasn't for my delivery man I'd give this place 1 star. I ordered oxtail with rice and peas with cabbage, with extra sauce on the rice. As someone who LOVES Jamaican oxtail and doesn't get to eat it often I was very excited to eat this meal. Unfortunately everything about this order was underwhelming. They gave me 4 oxtails and one bone with no meat on it, there was half a scoop of cabbage and a decent serving of rice, but no sauce on the rice. Worst part about the entire meal is, it had NO FLAVOR. I had to add salt on the rice just to eat it. The flavor is was lacking wasn't salt but I had add some flavor to try to enjoy this over priced meal. Will never order from here again.

Patties are lacking of flavors. Tried both beef and chicken. Even crown fried chicken's tasted better.

Our Server, Ramon, did an exceptional job. The staff did a great job at clearing finished items and everyone's timing was spot on. We started with the Tostones Rellenos con picadillo (Green plantains stuffed with ground beef). This was a great starter. Large enough to share and I enjoyed the drizzled sweet sauce and whole olives. Our entrees were: Palomilla Steak Platter (thin cut sirloin steak) and the Ropa Vieja (shredded flank steak). Both dishes were accompanied by white rice and we chose black beans and a side salad. This was the first time that I've seen Palomilla Steak presented totally cut into strips and it was a welcomed sight. The Ropa Vieja was perfectly seasoned and the amount of meat was thoroughly enjoyed. I capped off the meal with a Cortadito (A cortado is a Spanish coffee beverage consisting of equal parts espresso and warm, lightly steamed milk. The name comes from the Spanish verb cortar (to cut), meaning the milk "cuts" the acidity and intensity of the espresso. I appreciated the cookie on the side and each sip was amazing. The ambiance was cute and had a nice vibe, and the drinks were good as well. The only downside was the service--it was a bit slow since there seemed to be only one waiter covering the entire restaurant. Because of that, I'd probably avoid coming here if I'm on a tight schedule. That said, I'd definitely come back again when I have more time to relax and enjoy the experience.

Walked into Margon Restaurant in Midtown and instantly felt like I found one of NYC's secret cheat codes. Small space, big flavors, zero nonsense. The kind of place where you're elbow-to-elbow with strangers but everyone's united by one thing... serious hunger. Ordered the Cuban sandwich -- pressed, crispy, loaded with roast pork, glazed ham, Swiss, pickles, and mustard. One bite in and I stopped talking... which never happens. This thing didn't just deliver... it showed up early and over-prepared. Then came La Bandera Dominicana Braised beef swimming in savory gravy, yellow rice piled like a mountain, black beans doing their thing, and sweet maduros sitting on top like the victory flag. Simple. Comforting. Dangerous... because now I want it every week. Place gets busy, gets loud, gets chaotic... but it moves like a well-oiled machine. Years of experience and zero attitude. Just good people making great food. In a neighborhood full of tourist traps, this hole-in-the-wall is throwing haymakers. Sometimes the best escape in NYC isn't a rooftop... It's a Cuban sandwich and a plastic tray. And honestly... I'd pick that every time. #nycfood #hiddennyc #midtowneats
