This hotel is a large part of the reason we fell head over heels for Beaune.

This place used to be the hospital for the town and you can see how it was set up including an apothecary, kitchens, chapel, and some unique bedding arrangements. When i went to my room, I noticed it wasn't cleaned. The bathroom has pubic hairs in the tub and there appeared to be sexual stains on the toilet. When i called to the front desk, they were dismissive and said no one is available to clean the room and there are no other rooms available to offer. I was forced to use the public restroom in the lobby until the room was cleaned the next day. Staff is rude. The rooms aren't cleaned. Not worth it. There are better options literally everywhere.

We stayed at a lot of hotels during our honeymoon, and this one had by far the best architecture. The view from our room was terrific, and we loved the stained glass window in our room. Extremely comfortable bed as well. Everything was stunning. Staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. They recommended two outstanding restaurants and made reservations for us (you need them). Probably the best food we ate our honeymoon. Breakfast was outstanding! Really delicious selection. And have a drink of chartreuse at their bar! Overall, a truly remarkable hotel and lifetime experience. I hope I will get to stay here again.

Dang, I had no idea how great this place was until I left!!…read more Beautiful Beaune was a stop on a tour, and we had the privilege to stay here for two nights. Boy, was it the best sleep I had on that tour! It's a completely charming hotel located right next to our railstop, and it was really the perfect place to stay in such a quaint town. I absolutely enjoyed our time here, and the staff were so friendly and helpful during the entire stay. (One thing to note is that like many European accommodations, they do not offer a lift, so if you have heavy bags, it would be best to request a room situated close to the ground level.) They conveniently offer wifi for their guests (works best in the lobby area) and if you're coming in and out after hours, you can just go through their back door accessible through a pinpad. We always left the hotel earlier than when their restaurant/bar opened up, so I'm not sure how the food is there, but I imagine its good. It's only a 10-15 walk towards the main part of town, so if you're stopping in Beaune, this is the place to stay. It's beautiful out here, and seriously, really comfy beds!

HDF got new owners a couple fo years ago and the feeling has changed dramatically. It is a small family with two beautiful little girls who have totally revamped the rooms and the restaurant. The burger is the best in Beaune, no doubt about it. The rooms look and feel great and the service is so hospitable it feels like a family living room. Try to get the rooms on the opposite side of from the train station if you like to sleep with the window open. Large moving objects and sleeping do not always mix well but that is the only price you pay for a sweet little spot that is not too expensive right in the heart of Burgundy wine.
