Enersol

I contacted Enersol to instal insulation in my walls, basement and attic as part of a Columbia Gas…read moreprogram. Andy came to my home and provided the first home inspection by Enersol and scheduled the installation as a three day project on Dec. 8th & 9th and the following Monday, Dec. 12 Dec. 9th Mike and two helpers arrived 30 minutes later than their scheduled arrival time. Mike came in and refreshed his memory on the vents and asked if I had noticed any difference in the home. And I actually had noticed the home being warmer with only the attic portion of the job being completed. He went out with the other two guys to start the installation in the walls. About an hour into the job, there was an urgent knock at my front door. It was Mike, they had blown installation into my vents. He got a shop vac and brought it in the house to clean that vent, and as he cleaned that one, the next vent had installation blown into that one as well. SMH !!! Mike stayed in the house most of the day cleaning my vents while the other two guys filled the walls. They took the same lunch break lasting roughly 1.5 hrs., and announced they were done with the whole project at about 3pm and they did not need to come back on the 12th of Dec. I asked about payment and Mike said I would receive an invoice from the company and basically ran out the door. The other two men were already gone in the company truck and Mike had brought his personal vehicle to the job that morning. I reported the issue of insulation being blown into my vents and Andy scheduled a day to come out to check the clean up. When Andy came he checked the vents, but didn't bother to check the rest of the teams work. He credited me $30 after I complained that each time I check my furnace to make sure the filter was not clogged with insulation I had to replace the filter, so he basically bought me two new filters. About a week after Andy's home visit my pipes froze in the basement. I called Columbia Gas and requested a home inspection. I explained my situation and they agreed to do the inspection although the program had ended. The day Columbia Gas came out to do the inspection they did an Air seal test, which was the first of which I had. This is significant because the air seal test determines how much air the home is losing and how much installation is required. Secondly, the Columbia Gas Inspector reported that none of the sill plate in the basement had been sealed, which would have prevented my pipes from freezing. Finally Columbia Gas reported several areas in the walls were still hollow. When Enersol received the report they agreed to come back and complete the work. Although all the work was outlined for Enersol and I told them the spots Columbia Gas had pointed out as insufficient it still took Enersol two more visits to do the work, and another inspection by Andy from Enersol. So, basically a scheduled 3 day job was declared to be completed by the workers in just two, but was not actually completed until the company made their 6th home visit on March 17th 2023. I called to arrange payment for the work on the 17th when it was completed. I asked for a discount for the extreme inconveniences. I was told by Aaron that Enersol was inconvenienced as well because I had not offered to pay any portion of the bill while I was waiting to have the work completed. I told him I am not use to paying for a service until the job is completed, but if the company needed the money they should have reached out to me. I would have been willing to pay a percentage until the work was complete. Then Aaron told me that each time the company sent the workers out they had to pay each of them an hourly wage. I responded to Aaron if your employees took their time and did the work correctly in the first place maybe they could've finished in 3 days and not 6. Aaron finally offered me a $78 discount (which is 2%). I accepted because it was not about the money for me, but the principal. Aaron needs to take ownership of his employees providing less than a satisfactory job. I wonder how many other homes they have gotten away with doing half-Ass. If your not having your home inspected or getting an infrared gun to check the walls yourself, you just do not know, and I would not trust Enersol further than I could throw them, and I can not even start to lift them, let alone throw them.

They worked diligently to not only find the source of the problem (unrelated to insulation) and eliminate it, but then took corrective action to prevent future occurrences. We cannot thank Andy, Chris, Jayvon, and the Enersol team enough and recommend this company to anyone in the market.

If your goal is to ruin the look of your beautiful brick home, look no further! The Brick Guys are…read morethe most inept "masons" in town! Jim House, owner of The Canaan Company, stands behind the substandard masons he employs, admitting he has had multiple complaints with his mason crew. Jim House supports selecting the wrong brick and mortar, by hiding behind a clause in his contract that states they'll come as close as possible to matching. However, they don't even try to come as close as possible, and when informed that the brick and mortar that was used was completely wrong, he states and I'll quote "For a three thousand dollar job, I'm not going to spend 3 days researching the correct brick and mortar. I rely on a 3rd party for that." A third party who has never seen the brick home. When informed that a better match for both the brick and mortar were found after 10 minutes of research, he states that not all the work that was done was bad, just some of it! Not only will they ruin the appearance of your brick home, his motley crew of "masons" will also ruin your side walks, driveway, and landscaping stone by coating them with stain, leaving old mortar and brick pieces scattered throughout the landscaping stones. No care was exercised to protect the home or the landscape, no tarps, no clean up, just an absolute mess to go along with their shoddy work. Unfortunately this review will not allow me to post photos of the tri-colored mortar and yellow brick that now adorns the front of my white brick home, nor will it allow me to show the multiple colors of mortar that was used throughout the rest of the home, and appears to have been applied by a blind child playing with puddy. I also cannot show you the cracking of the newly placed multi-colored mortar nor the areas where no mortar was placed at all, even after their third attempt of trying to do the job correctly. When Jim House was told that David oversold the ability of his mason crew, Jim House responded by saying and again I'll quote "Well, he's not going to under sell a job." As an business owner, Jim House knowingly sends an inept mason crew out to jobs, knowing their work is subpar and he supports their shoddy workmanship, even refusing to come walk the property to see for himself the damage they caused. Run, don't walk, from this disaster of a company, unless your goal is to destroy your brick home.

I tried to find someone to come get rid of the bat, but no one could come, since it was a Sunday. I kept calling different bat companies, but somehow always ended up back with Platinum Wildlife Removal. The woman on the phone assured me that if I didn't set up an appointment then, I most likely wouldn't get one. I paid $99 to have Platinum come and do an inspection the next day. The first thing the man did was head straight to the fireplace and pronounce it an extreme fire hazard due to creosote. He purposely set up an atmosphere of fear and threat so he could play on my emotion. Then he inspected my attic and drew me into his web even further by saying there was very little cleanup to do, so he would only charge me @$800. And since he thought he had my trust at that point, then it was time to reel me in. He inspected the outside of the house, came back in and lowered the boom--over $5,000 in work needed to get rid of bats and make sure they didn't enter my home. At that point I pretty much knew he was scamming me, and when I checked with other companies, they told me to use anyone but Platinum Wildlife Removal, that they had seen this same scenario many times before. Don't fall prey to Platinum Wildlife Removal's dishonest business tactics. They should be ashamed of themselves!
