It was wonderful to meet him in person and express my appreciation. The restaurant features a contemporary design with indoor and outdoor seating. The open kitchen is directly behind the counter seating. We started with the Pumpkin Soup that our server suggested we split. It was amazing. My daughter ordered the Panzerotti pasta with blue cheese, plum and oyster mushroom. My choice was the Veal Fillet which was a substantial serving and incredibly tasteful and tender. The Pear Strudel was a perfect desert to end our meal. Excellent service, pricing and presentation. This restaurant deserves it own Michelin star.

I didn't pay too much attention to what our friends ate, since I was so occupied by my plate, and so surprised to actually be eating food of that level in Sachsenhausen! Our 4 adults ate three courses (with just one main course for each of two kids), each had an aperitif, split one bottle of wine (or was it two???), and had coffee for about 300 euros. The interior decor was so-so. They have some kind of chair-theme going on, and you can even buy the chairs that are listed on their menu. Ironically, I didn't find their seating very comfortable. We also didn't like that they don't have an English menu on hand. That would be an easy thing to fix, if they wanted to... They do have several items that are vegetarian. And since my seat was in the kitchen (not kidding) I noticed the kitchen staff was hard working and everything looked clean. On a Saturday night it seemed like the servers couldn't keep up, we rarely saw our server and when we did, he was literally running by. Additionally the understaffing caused a lot of chaos. Since I was in the mall earlier that day, I decided to stop by and make a reservation. I watched as the hostess wrote down the reservation. I'm not sure what happened, but by the time we got there, six hours later, our reservation was lost. At first they tried to seat 7 of us at a 5 top table, then seated us in the kitchen (at this point we were happy to have any table). Our waiter took our food orders about 15 minutes later on a small electric device, yet of the 6 food orders placed (one person decided not to eat) 3 of the orders were wrong. One of our diners wanted more food but we never saw our server, from order taking, until it was time to pay (some one else brought our food). There was also some confusion about the paying part, but apparently there was enough time for the waiter to confront me about it, even though it had nothing to do with me, but instead with a couple of the orders that were wrong. I don't know. I really want to like this place because it's trendy which causes excitement. But, I'm not that excited about the place. Not to mention the food is OK, nothing I can't get somewhere else. Will I be back? I probably won't. Sorry Alex.
