***This review is just for the Inks Lake General Store outside look only***…read more I didn't go inside the Inks Lake General Store since I was on the free 30 drive thru promotion LOL. But I did get a quick picture of it. It looked nice from the outside. From the other reviews, it sounded like it has some good selections of drinks, snacks, merchandise, etc. It's really nice that they have this general store especially when people are camping inside the park and happens to need something quick. I called in last night to inquire about a boat rental, I got prices and information on what we would need to rent the boat, which was a drivers license and a credit card, and you had to be born before September 1993. All requirements my husband meets. We headed out this morning and everything was going great, we decided on the boat we wanted, handed over our license and credit card. Our total was well over 1000 dollars which we were ok with. The two men at the front desk were very nice and helping us through the process when the lady from the office "manager" steps out and says she is not allowed to rent to someone who speaks Spanish. I ask what she means by this and she again says she can't rent to some one who can't comprehend English. Yes my husband doesn't not speak English fluently but can comprehend and read it well enough to rent a boat! She stated it's written policy from the insurance which when I asked her to see this written she hid in her office and handed one of the men a sticky note with the insurance information. of course a 1800 number that is closed during the weekend. I really feel bad for the owner of this business because as a business owner my self I know how bad a bad employee can have an influence on a paying customer. I thought racism was a thing of the past especially in area known or advertised for tourism. (Also I did speak to a few agents at Markel the insurance company and they stated that this was not part of their policy, and much rather had to do with the manager or owner of the store we were renting from)

On Thursday 7/28 we rented a pontoon boat and picked it up several hours late as we weren't feeling well with the corona but knew we'd lose our money if we cancelled so we went ahead and picked it up and then when we returned it only half an hour late they charged us $125! I don't really think that was fair considering we picked it up late.

Well, let us start with the good stuff:…read more 1. Very personable on the phones and in setting the reservations. 2. Very good prices. 3. It "appears" that they have very good equipment (more on "appears" later). 4. A family-owned shop run by Tammy and her husband and her son. The much appreciated stuff: 1. They were running EXTREMELY late. However, they did call and keep us informed. They offered a significantly delayed pick up that made up for the lost time. This was handled very professionally. The problematic stuff: As you will see below, they did not meet their obligations nor keep their word. As such, our family vacation was significantly hampered and we had to make arrangements that cost us about $1000 extra and lost us considerable time. LakeTime Boat Rentals seems to just be getting going and I hope they mature as a business. However, do you want to put your faith in a company that bails on you and leaves you high and dry? 1. The older male (Tammy's Husband?) became verbally combative in a discussion about damages to their equipment. He spent his first 15 minutes onsite telling us the horrors of damages to HIS JetSkis. Each time ending his particular story about how that damage was "not covered by insurance". Apparently (according to husband), the only thing covered by their recommended insurance was being run over by another boat from behind. 2. In speaking with Tammy during contracting, any damage is covered by the insurance - but of course the deductible applies. I opted for the insurance and took a $1000 deductible (meaning I pay out of pocket for any damages below that amount). Again, Tammy was both pleasant and professional. 3. On a couple of different occasions during drop off, Husband kept saying this or that was not covered. Towards the end, he said he was worried about our location on the lake and wake turbulence damaging his JetSkis. For the third time, he asked if I would take responsibility for some undefined tragedy that resulted from wind or waves or whatnot. I joked back to him that I had purchased the insurance so that would have to cover it. He responded that that kind of damage was not covered by insurance. He did not appreciate my joke and like the Soup Nazi told me "No JetSkis for you!" 4. Finally, in an attempt to get over this whole issue, I asked him what was his real concern and tried to offer solutions to his worry about his RENTAL equipment. On every occasion, he would interrupt and would raise his voice. I actually told him that I was NOT trying to fight with him, just to understand his position. In the end, I also became frustrated by his obstinance and promised this review ... a promise I am keeping. He in turn, promised to "handle" my review. So, they took their JetSkis and PaddleBoard equipment and left (taking some of our safety equipment by mistake - which they returned the next day). They left us high and dry (literally) adding grief to our vacation plans. I would strongly encourage using someone else until LakeTime Rentals gets more experience on how to deal with customers and run a business and keep their word. They get a 1-Star because I would, under no circumstances, risk a vacation on them again.

The kids get one hour of practice during the week and one hour of games on the weekend. Practice is grouped together by age, so for us, there were a ton of kids. It is a bit different not to practice with your team but it works. There is a registration fee (due every season) and a member fee (due once a year). The child will get a plain jersey. The fields are very small. The atmosphere for the kids is relaxed and fun so if you are looking for something competitive this may not be the place. Not many indoor soccer fields to use in this area so glad there is something. Although the price is higher for one soccer season, they offer a variety of things that the other soccer programs do not and vice versa. My son is happy to play during summer and I am happy not to roast in the sun. There is a bar upstairs with light snacks. It is only accessible via stairs no elevator available. There are a few of downsides... Frist downside is the lack of seating. On days of practice with so many parents and kids the seats go fast and if you don't snag one early will be standing for the duration of practice. The same could be said for game days. If you have bad knees, have little ones, or are elderly would suggest bringing a folding chair just in case. Second, the front desk gets busy often and the wait is long. With the number of people coming and going for practices and games throughout the day, it would be nice to increase staff to accommodate the influx of visitors. Third, during practice/games parking lot gets full quickly. If you are inviting family to view the games would suggest carpooling. Fourth, the other sports programs we had signed up for had 2 days of practice than games on the weekend. With the number of kids during practice, it would be nice to have a second practice day. If you are looking for one-to-one coaching, it won't happen with the number of kids. It's more a collective group practice and spot corrections are done here and there so if your kids need more direction with getting moves/drills, they may struggle. Fifth, the fields are small. We had signed up here before the pandemic and compared to now the size of the field has changed. The fields used to be twice the size it is now. They reduced the size of both the indoor and outdoor fields. I get that it's a business for profit and probably cutting the fields was a way to get more customers signed up.

Had the absolute best day of fishing with the kids ever! There was a lot of plant growth around the house but with the googan frog it posed very few if any challenges outside the crappie house and inside was absolute magic . Was so grateful for the experience. Went back again at end of summer break and learned it was shut down indefinitely. If it ever opens again would love to bring the kids back , but respect the decision of the owner. The bait shop and cabins and location are simply awesome !

He told us he would be open for 15 more minutes so we rushed to a gas station got cash and we were back within eight minutes. I don't even know where to start. Being that I am someone that absolutely freaks out with snakes…read moreand can tolerate lizards, this place actually made it interesting and enjoyable. I seriously was so intrigued by the vast variety of snakes and reptiles that it removed my fidgety fear. This place is extremely large, there are so many twists and turns and rooms and stairs and sections, it's probably what made it so interesting. Each area is separated by region of the world that the snakes, lizards, and turtles are from. You will experience different climates, some areas are much hotter, some are a bit cooler, some have more humidity. Walking through here makes you feel like you are in an episode of National Geographic. I never thought I would be so up close and personal with some of these reptiles. The really cool part is that they have an incubation room when you walk in where they have all of the eggs of the next generation getting ready to hatch! I even got a video of a lizard eating some baby possums, which was both gross and cool, simply the cycle of life for those of you that might freak out, everyone's gotta eat! We got to talk to the owner, who is a super interesting guy and has been all over the world and lived in South America. He gave us so much information on the different snakes, he is like a walking encyclopedia. I think we spent almost an hour walking through all of the different sections and looking at the different species, again, I reiterate, as someone who has a crazy fear of snakes, I actually enjoyed this reptiles zoo, honestly, it was a bit breathtaking at how amazing it was to watch so many beautiful species of reptiles. If you are coming from San Antonio, it is about 40 minutes north of 281 in Bulverde.

Spent three nights in Site 251. Very tight for an RV. Crumbling asphalt sloping to front. Staff…read morecourteous and friendly at check in. Site is close to Devil's waterhole and hiking path. No direct access to water. Many sites in this park are very close together. Others are spaced out. Check map when selecting a campsite. Like most state parks, area outside immediate campsite is overgrown and not maintained. Restrooms and showers about 300 ft. - clean and everything works, with attic fans to blow the heat out in summer.
