In retrospect, I should have listened to him then and there. After ten minutes waiting for new glasses, my partner got the waiter's attention and asked for two cans of coke instead. They gave us our side order, which turned out to be the tray that had been sitting on the counter. It was cold and frankly, unappetising. At that point, my partner asked for cans of coke again as this still hadn't arrived, neither had the glasses. I watched the waiter ring up the till but no coke. We waited again. Perhaps we are meant to get it from the fridge ourselves? I suggested. Nope. I watched as the waitress brought another table cans along with glasses. We received our food separately. My partner received his first, and tired of waiting for the coke, my partner went up and got the coke from the fridge himself. The last straw was when mine finally arrived, and was slammed rudely at the end of the table with such disregard, no eye contact, didn't even bother to put it in front of me. My partner, shocked, tried to get their attention and was ignored by the three staff in front of him. Maybe the main would be good? The beef was chewy and average at best. If I wanted beef this chewy, I could have cooked it myself. Anyway, we received the bill and we were charged with four cans of coke. I had to laugh. They give an hour to finish the meal and leave for non-BBQ eating customers. I don't like 1 hour eating time rule they force customer to follow. We went to this restaurant at 6:20pm and got a table at 6:40pm. The manager told one of our group members that we only have 1 hour to eat which I did not hear about the eating time limit. Food came 20 minutes later at 7:00pm and we started eating the food. 20 minutes later at 7:20pm, the server came and told us we only have 20 minutes left to finish the food. We were in the middle of eating the dinner. We finished about half of the food we received, and we still have one bottle of soju drink left to finish. They left the invoice on the table at 7:23pm so that they can get the money fast and kick out customers as soon as possible so that they can have another customer to make more money. The owner must be very very greedy and has no concept of customer service. This is very unfair trading act harassing customers in the middle of the dinner. We all felt very offended and upset, we lost our appetite. The server was very rude. I wanted to talk to the owner but he was not available. Instead, manager came and told us the rule. The manager was even more rude. Most fancy seafood buffet restaurant, Epicurean, in Sydney gives time limit for 1.5 hours. I understand the nature of their business. There are a few Japanese/Korean places in Hornsby but by all accounts Mori is the most authentically Japanese. The food is good. Really good. And unlike a lot of Japanese places the portions aren't tiny. You can get a good meal here at a reasonable price. The place itself is pretty tiny and always crowded. Seriously, the place is small. Don't go with a large group, you will not fit. Tiny as it is, Its usually better to try for a table rather than go for take away. Although they do take away, a lot of japanese food doesn't take kindly to sitting in a plastic container. It really should be eaten absolutely fresh. Some of the dishes are more durable and will stand up to the trip home so if you chose wisely, you can still get a good dinner even if the eat in is packed.
