Finally found a plumber that fixed my drain. My kitchen sink has been slow for years. I called two plumbers in the past and they seemed to be afraid to do anything other than using the drain auger but still charged crazy money. I used the same auger and got nowhere. I needed someone who could do better than what i could do. I gave it one last shot and called Hornback . And thank goodness I finally found someone who wasn't afraid to bend down under the sink and not tell me they had bad experience and they couldn't use the jetter. They can just get outta here with that!!! Joshua arrived on time and cleared the drain and he used the jetter! My drain has never worked this well. Thanks and great work, Joshua!!! read more

Excellent!! I was referred to Hornbeck. And was super impressed. They answered their phone. Listened to what was going on. And said they would someone over soon. 30 min later the technicians were here. They evacuated the situation. Offered a solution. This was at 4 pm. Said they needed to get parts. If they were able to get tonight they would fix otherwise it would be next day. They were back and fixed everything by 6 pm. Quick, efficient, polite and professional. Thank you. read more

Hornback has done a lot of plumbing work for us including our remodel, new master bath and some toilet and sink replacements. My water heater went recently but not before flooding the crawlspace. They sent a guy out right at closing who made a temporary fix and then returned a couple days later to replace the water heater. All in all their work has been great, they've always responded to any issues, and their costs are reasonable. If you need plumbing work, give these folks a call! read more

Fast, reliable, and professional. Will absolutely be calling them for any future plumbing needs....Promote ahead of peers!!!

As a property manager I am constantly using services such as this. Hornback Plumbing usually responds that day without delay, which is a huge bonus. But, when I had them come out to the same property three or four times the problem kept returning. Instead of actually finding the root of the problem they "put a bandaid" on it. Problem returns and they get to charge us again. When I asked why none of their technicians checked the actual drain pipes below the building they gave a run around answer, "we work on rentals all the time and it's rarely more than a stopped up toilet". Two stars purely for response time. read more

We were desperate! Our bathroom drains totally backing up! Hornback was the second plumber we had called in days. It never got back to us. Made appt with Hornback for 2pm. Waited, and waited...both my husband and I calling to find out if someone would be coming. "Yes, yes shortly", but no! Until finally, 6 or 7 pm on a Friday night here comes our plumber. He spent a while working but solved all the issues with clearing our drains and never had trouble since. We anticipated his charge on overtime having been used to paying expensive plumbers in Louisville all my life, but no, total charge for all that work and cleaning up the mess too, was under $200!! Shocking!! If not for that, the business would have only gotten 3 stars. But this man was off duty and called in to do our job. Evidently, the previous plumber couldn't get to us earlier in the day or call us to say why. read more

I called with a plumbing problem that I (not a plumber) thought was huge that turned out to be small and the amazing gentleman that I spoke to told me how to fix it over the phone instead of him having to come out here to fix it and there was no charge. I will definitely be using Hornback plumbing again. read more

We have used another company for years but haven't been happy with them. Decided to try this one. Fantastic! Shower leaking. The office girl Wendy was pleasant, called to let me know the plumber was on his way. They came same day. Plumber was professional, answered ALL my questions (there were a lot), and over all was just great. Took about 2 hours. Can't speak highly enough. Will definitely pass word along and will use again. Thank you! read more

I needed a repair done on my hot water heater. Adam came out with his apprentice Austin and performed the repair. I observed Adam teaching Austin how to diagnose the issue and they quickly went to work fixing the hot water heater. In the process of draining the hot water heater, Adam identified that we did not have a water shut off valve above the water heater and that our sump pump was no longer working. He took the initiative to get another team member to bring him what he needed to complete all the repairs without wasting time. I am so impressed with Adam's professionalism, attention to detail and willingness to make sure the job was done right. I am very happy with the quality of work done and the manner in which it was completed. I believe had I called another plumbing service that the water shut off valve may not have been done and my sump pump would have been pushed to another day in an effort to drag out the repair. I definitely recommend Hornback Plumbing! read more

These guys are fantastic. I had a water line break between the water meter and my house. Joe came out walked the entire 6 acre property with me. He then recommended the least expensive option. Super customer service, prompt assistance, and a quick fix. Thanks Hornback! read more

As with some other customers, Donnie Hornback (owner) now refuses service to me because I questioned his workmanship and billing practices. It's a shame because some of the tech's (including his son) are really good and nice to work with. As a home builder, I have to work with a lot subcontractors, and sometimes we have disagreements. I've never had one who refused to work for me because of his own company's shoddy work and repeated mistakes. One of his biggest problems is that he tends to send out under-trained plumbers without proper oversight, then won't own up to their substandard (or damaging) work. I have plenty of examples from just the last house he worked on for me. I've had to reinstall loose sinks, fix improperly set dishwashers, clean dirty bathtubs (caused by him), replace incorrect drain configurations, etc. And yet, I was still willing to hire him for future jobs because I believed the upside of knowing the tech's was worth it. I guess Donnie didn't like being shorted $500 on a $50,000 job so now he's cut me off! I'm just glad his business is strong enough to turn down work and still keep people employed. Hope it stays like that for him (and them). read more

Mine is a cautionary tale. The first time I used Hornback Plumbing I would have given them 5 stars. I had a hot water leak. The gentleman that came out was professional and did his job well at a reasonable price (took an hour and 1/2). The second time I used them for my leaking shower I would have given them 1 star. The gentleman that came out seem inexperienced, couldn't figure out how to shut my water off (even though the other guy figured it out), made several phone calls and cost me more money because of it. I asked him how much it was going to cost, he said $400 because I had a bad valve (awesome that is what I expected to pay), after he couldn't figure out how to shut my water off, it's now $500 because he was going to have to install a shut off valve, ok. When he wrote up my bill it was $668! He never told me along the way that it was going to be more than the $500 and I can see it fluctuate a little but $168? I asked him why and he said because of the amount of time it took. He was there from 2P - almost 7P. I even found out later that he replaced my spout even though the one on there was brand new and had just been installed 5 months prior, and guess what, he took it with him. I called the company the next day and told them that I felt I was paying for his inexperience. They said that they would have someone look at the bill. I waited a week and called back, said they would have someone look at the bill. It is now a month later and I have never gotten a call back. I would have been fine if they just would have called me back and said "We looked at it and those are accurate charges" but to not even call me back? Made me feel like my business didn't mean anything to them. Sadly I will have to find another plumbing company for my plumbing needs. read more
