They can't administer his medications he needs 5 times a day. After the Key took over from Companions and home makers their prices kept increasing. They don't pay their caregivers enough yet they keep increasing the prices. They told me it was due to wage increases in CT. That increase is less than one dollar per hour. yet rates per hour increased almost five dollars. For day care their caregivers are excellent but they need to pay them better.

My family was signed up with them when they were at Homecare on River Street. Milford, CT. Their…read morepricing increased dramatically when they were bought out by The Key, though they said they'd honor the current contract. We had some wonderful caregivers and some horrible aides too. I felt our concerns, like abuse, disrespect towards my family members, and possible theft were interpreted as "whiny complaining". I needed to remind one manager that we hired them and they worked for us, not the other way around. No matter which agency you go with, they are all the same as far as the aide who comes into your home. I feel bad for those who don't have children to look in and watch out for them while an aide is in the home. It is better than a nursing home environment in some respects, however, you need to be proactive and not expect the agency will do it all. Please lock up all valuables in a safe, lock box, or hidden somewhere. When we had some wonderful aides at home under this agency, I felt confident that my family was cared for. I give that credit to the employees, not the managers. ' , . .

My mom, although I'll with copd and having limited mobility, was relying on the care till her cna came at 9 a.m. It was going ok, however, my mom didn't like the idea that the aide was only sitting around and not doing anything. My mom tried to have a conversation with aide, but aide being on her phone, only responding with yes, uhhum, and no. Mom thought as an aide she could help with laundry and light cleaning. We started this and then all of a sudden the aide had gotten another client and was not going to be able to help out. Is it a coincidence that right after she was asked to do laundry, all of a sudden, she is no longer available. The elderly get used to a routine, and to suddenly stop service is not ok. We found out on a Friday that a new person would be starting on Monday. It's not cool at all. That is not a way to run a business, especially when it involves the elderly. We ended up canceling the service, and it took a long time to get our refund. In my opinion Elizabeth Home Care is more interested in the money they can make off their clients, than the actual comfort and well being of the most vulnerable of the population. Shame on them.

My recent experience was extremely similar to the other 1-star review…read more I too was subjected to a series of inappropriate questions (by the receptionist). Sadly, the first question asked was "Do you have insurance"... not "What is your name", "How can we help you", etc. The receptionist then began berating me with dozens of disturbing questions including: "Do you have a gun permit" and "Do you own firearms". I told the receptionist that I was not comfortable answering those two questions and she immediately cut me off, proceeded to tell me that 'Todd' would review my answers and return my call if he accepts me as a patient. As expected, 'Todd' never returned my call and I was denied. I can only assume 'Todd' does not accept patients who may own firearms. This is just another example of why men do put much faith in counseling. If you happen to support the second amendment and/or own a firearm, do not try to obtain this 'open minded' therapist; he is a biased coward who should probably get some therapy himself.

Todd counseled us separately. He referred her to excellent treatment facilities. He taught me to use healthy coping strategies, how to deal with my family and resolve issues, how to deal with the death of my mother, job stress, improve relationships, and I am a better person because of Todd Tuozzoli. He listens, cares, knows the right questions to ask, talks like a real person, and offers common sense, down to earth advice. He is very easy to share your deepest feelings with. I trusted him with my daughter and I trusted him with my emotional health. I worked with professional counselors and therapists. I recommended Todd over any other mental and emotional health specialist I have ever known.

I was desperate…read morefor help, new and naive to having independent insurance, and thought my insurance would cover most of the (as I now know) ridiculously overpriced sessions. I was charged out of pocket a "sliding scale" amount of $325 (which was still more than full price as far as any other therapist would go) promptly to my credit card after every single session, and at the same time they filed a claim with my insurance for the full price $500. This is double billing, which if not out right illegal is at best shady. When I called my insurance I was informed of not only this wrong doing, but that as standard practice, a provider, out of network or not, who files claims with an insurance is not supposed to charge anything to patient until it has been processed through insurance. Further more, I was informed per my insurance's regulation they are only allowed to charge me ~$60 a session since they filed claims and thus entered into a contract with my insurance. I have called them twice with a representative from my insurance to explain in no uncertain terms what the situation was and to give them a chance to refund me. This was met with polite stonewalling nonsense that "they were not obligated to my insurance's laws because they were out of network." When I emailed them with extensive proof of my insurance's legal policy for out-of-network providers that shows that they legally can only charge 15% more than my insurance's allowed amount, I have been met with crickets. Since they have refused to refund me, per the advice of multiple representatives, I have filed a fraud suit with my insurance. As for my experience with the actual people, I had an incredibly brief "intake interview" with the Dr. Zackson, who's primary mission seemed to be getting off the phone with me as soon as possible instead of listening to my symptoms, I was pushed to take a male therapist when I'd explicitly expressed I wanted a female one. Outside of this, all the employees I came into contact with were polite, helpful, and seemed compassionate. And though I did not want a male therapist, I found use and made progress in the therapy I received before stopping treatment. But I cannot excuse this blatant exploitation of the vulnerable and the incredible audacity to continue to spout nonsense and withhold my money (which I desperately need as a self-supporting college student) when they are being confronted with the obvious reality of their wrong doing from multiple authoritative sources. Absolutely insidious behavior for a practice that claims to be about helping people.

My aunt has now passed and Barbara's few months of aiding to my aunt's needs has added more stress to my family. She hand wrote hours to be paid and harassed my mom who was the executor. Telling my mom my aunt would still be alive if we didn't hospitalize her and keep her in Barbara's care. There were other condescending and hurtful things said too.
