I have to say, I was a bit nervous to see a therapist whose information I had found online (and my husband was downright opposed), but we were desperate for help. I didn't now where else to turn, because I certainly didn't want to ask my friends or colleagues for recommendations for a good marriage counselor, so we rolled the dice on Connecticut Counseling Services and I'm so happy we did. Both of us felt instantly connected to Dana and understood by her. She clearly has a lot of experience working with couples, and it showed. Dana is warm and engaged in our sessions, and she's taught us both a tremendous amount about the importance of active listening and good communication. There was even a time when my husband's train was delayed and we were at risk of missing half our session that she willingly stayed extra late to make sure we got our full time. I know firsthand that finding a great couples counselor isn't fun or easy, but I would recommend CCS and Dana Zuskin, specifically. read more
