This company contacted me about several jobs. I was dealing with Amir who seemed extremely excited…read moreto find me a job. However, after the interview, dead silence. Even if the interview did not go well, just tell me that instead of having me continuing to try to reach out. Very unprofessional. I would never go back to them or recommend them to anyone.

So these guys are in NJ but apparently they also handle candidates in New York? Anyway, they're…read morepretty terrible at following up both with clients and candidates and my experience with them has been largely frustrating communication wise, so that's why they're not A-OK. They did get me an interview and it really went great, but the client said no, which was fine (Hey, it happens...) What's not fine is that they never told me and my recruiter proceeded to drop off the face of the earth... I didn't find out anything until the client had reached out to me directly. When I brought it up, they tried to save face by acting like the job wasn't closed and the client could say yes any day now...Pfft! In the beginning, they kind of acted like I was misleading them about my degree/qualifications, etc, but I think they did that because they want to be certain of who they're representing. I don't know why they couldn't just set up a skype interview (I mean yeah, if you randomly contact someone on Careerbuilder, I'd be scared too, but this is why you screen candidates). They were helpful at giving background info on interviews and I could sometimes get tidbits and interesting notes (the kind that other recruiters wouldn't share) which was way cool. So yeah, as far as prepping candidates go, A++. But other than that, yeah, not so much. Like too many other small IT/Boutique places, they're not the greatest at understanding the needs of specialized fields/professions, but they try.

The world is cruel to those who are unable to communicate. Most people rely on being able to speak…read moreso heavily that the thought of not having that ability is unfathomable to them. Communication is an essential part of what makes us successful as human beings. Imagine, then, the shock a parent must feel when they learn that their baby has a learning disability; when they learn that their son or daughter was born with a birth defect, or suffers complications from trauma in the womb. Imagine seeing the future of that child evaporating as each day passes where traditional special education leaves little impact. Imagine how helpless you would feel as your child is unable to learn. Mrs. DeFusco has a gift -- not simply a gift of teaching, but a gift of learning. When she meets with her students, she doesn't relegate herself to merely assigning exercises and delivering scores, she studies the behavior of her students. She looks for the patterns of engagement. She identifies enthusiasm and cooperation in whatever way the child manifests it, and when she discovers the key to their incentive it becomes the force behind her sessions. Mrs. DeFusco is not an impartial educator; her tenacity, patience, and warmth, combined with the investment she collects from the parent, are the foundation of raising a savant. I was a student of Mrs. Bette almost thirty years ago. She is, without a single doubt, the person responsible for giving me the tools to begin the path of learning. Because of her brilliant skill and my parents' devotion to my progress, I have gone on to graduate college in the field of my passion, graphic design. My words have been published by the Huffington Post and my art has been published in books on digital design. I am an award-winning trainer, tutoring thousands of people during my eight years working for Apple, and have led public speaking events. I am happily married to the love of my life and enjoy the professional enrichment of my work as an administrator for Princeton University. This is the mark of success: the feeling that I have made it to a place of contentment and prosperity, none of which would have been possible to achieve had it not been for the afternoons I spent with Mrs. Bette.

I finally found Ms. Bette when Matthew was in the 4th grade and she has made a profound difference in Matthew's ability to learn and comprehend. And now in 8th grade he made the Honor Roll. I'm so proud of him! There are not enough words to express my gratitude to Ms. Bette. So for now, a simple, Thank You!
