Been coming here for trivia on Wednesdays and have been having a great time! The service is mostly quick, the atmosphere is fun and the food, especially the pizza, we have been really enjoying. My one complaint is that for being a bar with "hops" in the name and a beer centric venue, there really aren't that many options for beer on tap and they don't seem to have rotating options either. They do have some of the best Buffalo chicken wings in Canberra, and I do appreciate that they serve them with a BLUE cheese dip (I'm strongly opinionated it's blue cheese dip or nothing). The service is always nice and the decorations and activities around are fun and give off good vibes. The menu is slightly overpriced for what you get in my opinion, to explain why it's not 5 stars. Please keep your Buffalo wings with BLUE cheese sauce on the menu. However they make the wings and Buffalo sauce is tasty and stands out to other Buffalo wings in Canberra. Great local pub! One of the best outright patios I've experienced here. Great selection of beers too. The menu is nicely eclectic but I have to say the apps and smalls can fill you up if you do it right! Came in on a Thursday nite and they had hourly raffles and I believe the winners get entered into the evenings dildo race - no that's right. We sat next to the 'track'. Interesting to be sure. A poppin casual bar complete with food. Outside is cool with umbrellas and heaps of seating, a choice between high top tables or low group tables. Inside is everything, the music, the drinks, the people, the vibes. There's a funky container bar located outside, and they do alcoholic bubble tea. Did you read right? Yes, ALCOHOLIC BUBBLE TEA. I myself was mind blown that I've never seen this before with all of the bubble tea craze. Obviously, I'd be uncourageous to not try one. I did and it was exactly what you'd expect. A cocktail you can enjoy with the happy bubbles that make a bubble tea just that. Service was great, everyone was friendly. A gentleman even went over the top to get our munchies order in before the kitchen closed at 9pm, and he delivered it to us with a cheeky "That's what she said" joke. Yes, this is the type of place you want to come to. We ordered the southern fried popcorn chicken bites. These guys do not mess around with orders, it was quick and the bowlful size was enough to feed two hungry appetites. Good drinks, filling food, and a lively atmosphere. Lots of good outdoor seating and tasty food and drinks a good Aussie pub make. I'm a bit sad that hopscotch's existence means adrenalin boardstore isnt around anymore, but I guess I can compensate with their food. We split a chicken schnitzel with two sides and we were both full after. The mashed potatoes had a good creamy texture, and the chips were crispy. The bourbon mushroom gravy was really good and went well on everything; too bad the pot of it was so small. We also got sangria and it was pretty good. There isn't much parking in the area unless you manage to snag a street park. There is plenty of room outside for large groups. read more

Great burgers! A wonderful semi-classy atmosphere to have dinner and drinks on any night of the week The staff are wonderful - I had an allergic reaction to hazlenuts in the banana split, and they were so helpful; they refunded me the cost of dessert, made sure I was okay, and made sure that the owner knew that it wasn't disclosed on the menu as allergens in other dishes were. Tuesday night, quite busy. This area of Canberra is filled with trendy restaurants and Hopscotch fits the mold. Overpriced boutique beer on tap along with lots of hard surfaces ensuring conversations are difficult to carry out is the norm. Our table is reserved as requested and the wait staff are friendly. Our party of five orders steak, falafel, jerk chicken burger, Korean pork and Greek lamb. Most come with shoestring fries; a trendy abomination. Whatever happened to chips? My jerk chicken burger was fantastic, the dark ale beer was flavoursome and the seating comfortable. All other meals were considered to be good to great. Did a tasting menu on a whim after bumping into our favorite kanuckle-head bartender. Love that guy. We walk in and he yells, Hey booooiiizzzz! You are here for the tasting menu, right! ? Robert has never led us astray...and Since the last visit I knew the food would be great so issued a positive response. Glad I did. I learned that spatchcock is not a sound made by a Thai hooker...but a delicious fried young bird covered in siracha. Only good, if you go for beer and steak. They had no clue what Irish coffee was, even though they have a coffee machine in there. My bloody Mary came with vodka, tomato ketchup, salt and black pepper, hence I was pretty disappointed. Otherwise my friends having beer and wine were fine.
