I sauntered up to the bar to a friendly bartender who was constantly busy doing stuff and still attentive to us customers. He recommended their house lager and it was good and cold and tasty. There's a nice variety on the menu but this sammich caught my attention and I hoped that it wouldn't disappoint and it did not! Prices were average. Due to visitors coming to town, I went to Hops n Drops twice in one week! The service is always excellent, food is always delicious, specialty drinks are always fun to try. And our friends all enjoyed it. However- I wish they had consistency in the food they serve. Meaning- if you offer a salad as your main meal why does it come one day as a meal size serving, and the next time a couple days later the size of an appetizer plate??? And the burgers one day come with plenty of tots, and the next with barely a handful? I feel like I got my money's worth on one visit, and not the next. When you increase prices (I get it-everyone is...) at least be consistent. read more

Solely a review of the fish and chips, they were nothing fancy or giant but they were very very good!

The food was really good. The service was great. I have an allergy to soy and I kept on asking the server about different items if they had soy. She went and checked, and before my order was put in I'm assuming it was the manager came out to check and double check to make sure that everything was correct. The service here was pretty outstanding. They were very accommodating and very nice. We sat outside under the umbrellas. The ambience is very nice and very common. I've been here before, but this is the first time I've reviewed it. I shared the tempura fried pickles. They were somewhat ok. The pickles often fell out of the fry part. Their fried cauliflower is much better. I got the steakhouse burger with tots. The burger was intense. Probably too much salt or something. Couldn't eat much of it. The tots were good. Especially with the fry sauce. I also got their peach tea. I'm always impressed by it. It comes in a huge glass, and there's usually at least one peach slice. That was still good. Had cheesecake with strawberries for dessert. It was pretty good. Ate about half of it, since I was already full. The service was ok most of the time. Except for when I got the cheesecake. They didn't give me a fork with it. I had to ask for it. Not a big deal, but weird. We were close to the outdoor seating area. We could see the water through the window. That was nice. Staff was very friendly! Ordered a martini in a frozen cup and they were out, ok, it was still very good. I ordered the fish tacos with grilled fish, normally a favorite. These came and the fish was barely warm. They fixed it and they were good. Needed a lot more seasoning. I took three tortillas and combined ingredients into 2. The chips and salsa were very good, warm, fresh and crispy. My husband had the steakhouse burger and it was very tasty. Good flavor and cooked well. The manager came over and apologized for the fish and didn't charge us for them and he comped our wings as well, great customer service! The wings were our favorite part! I love Hops and Drops! The food is great! Every person, from the youngest to the oldest, always finds a meal that they enjoy. I especially like their homemade potato chips and their tater tots The non alcoholic drinks are mostly bottomless and the servers are quick to offer refills. The lemon drops that come in ice cups are a tasty house special. They also have a great selection of beer. It is a great restaurant for families as well as couples. Not a bad stop. There's honestly not much out in Silverdale/Bremerton but this was pretty decent. They have their own beers on tap and it's only $1 more for a 22oz beer. This was my favorite place to eat. Not anymore. The food was horribly soggy, including the tots. My sandwich fell apart in soggy pieces after the first bite. I'm tempted to never want to return to this store despite being a fan for years. Service was great when ordering. Once the food arrived, I never saw the server until he dropped the receipt on the table. Was unable to ask for manager or complain about the wet food. Really hungry for lunch today! Decided to check Yelp for a different place in Silverdale to eat. Boy, are we glad we did! Upon entering we were cheerfully greeted and taken to our table. The servers were all so nice in checking on us to see if we had everything we needed. We ordered the Tomato Basil Grilled Cheese and Kyle's Damn Good Sandwich ( yes, it's really called that!)! Two of us enjoyed the Silverdale location, eating outside overlooking the bay. While we are surrounded by saltwater, there are not that many restaurants actually on the water, or even facing the water. Can't beat the view and being outdoors on their deck when it's warm enough. The food is good, clearly better than average. This is more of a beer and food place, not fine dining or special food. I enjoy roughly once every month or two. Pricing is a little rich otherwise this would be a five. I score based upon how well they do what they say they're going to do. This is a beer and bar food place. Again food is superior for what it is. Service is also superior, though, each time I've been there they have been over-staffed. But, that's management's problem. read more

The wife and I just finished shopping and needed a quick bite that wasn't fast food. Went on Yelp, started naming off places, wife said hey let's go there, so off we went. Walked in, moderately busy (1215) so we were expecting a bit of a wait. Not this time - seated within 3 minutes of walking through the door. 5 minutes later ordered drinks and started perusing the menu. Both the wife and I got salads; my wife got the chicken strips salad (slight modification to the "as menu" - she's a blue cheese gal instead of house honey mustard whereas I got the fajita steak salad, which came with a delightfully fitting avocado ranch dressing. I did some hardcore searching for some french onion soup and was recommended hops n drops. They didn't have it for online ordering, so I called in. There's two sizes and also an option to get a bowl and a salad. The salad was a very decent size. The soup is absolutely delightful. I was afraid I wasn't gonna get that gooey cheese because it was takeout but thankfully my worry was all for naught. The flavor is spot on and the textures are dreamy. I definitely recommend it Plus, as the person brought out my order, it started spilling all over her! So she ran back inside and came back, apologized and said they'd overfilled it, and then she knocked off a couple bucks. For real! It spilled on her and she gave me a discount! Showed up tonight to partake in happy hour festivities. I apparently made the poor decision to sit at the bar tonight - while I was greeted and seated right away when I came in, that service stopped once I took a seat at the bar. The lady behind the bar - while nice when she wasn't too "busy" to interact with me - totally and completely ignored me while I was at the bar. Unless it came time to refill my drink, of course. She filled the glass and dropped it off and ran away before I had the chance to talk to her about ordering food. The hour and a half I was there she never bothered to ask how I was doing. I shouldn't have to chase anyone down. It's common courtesy to check up on your guests throughout their visit. Never did bother to ask if I wanted to put an order in. The place was NOT busy. She didn't have a problem socializing with the male staff, though. I also ordered the house lager. Not sure if it's a Washington state thing, but where I'm from a lager does not look like a Coors Light. Yuck!! I doubt I will be visitinanother Hops and Drops location again. read more

I finally got around to going to this place yesterday. They were definitely a decent place to hit up for a drink. The Bar Tender was super nice and friendly. Both of the kegs blew when we ordered our beer, which was a little weird - but oh well. We didn't have any food, we just kinda popped in to have a quick pint because I had been wanting to try this place for so long. One of the more popular restaurant in Silverdale. The Covid hasn't slowed these guys down. They're as busy as ever. From the wait staff to the take out orders, they're plenty busy. They have a very decent selection of beer from local favorites to the popular brands. As most bar places, they have their usual order of american bar food ranging from burgers to wings. All of which were solid picks. We can at just the right time and got on that happy hour menu! Ordered a few sides of wings, spare ribs, nachos, calamari and a few round of beer. An order of Fish and chips and Fiesta Mac followed by a pale ale and huckleberry lemon drop. Fish & Chips - Nothing spectacular your standard run of the mill fish and chips served with tots. Bland flavor with a greasy after taste. But once the beer was served no complaints. Fiesta Mac - penne style noodles topped with a variety of toppings like jalapeños, bacon, green onion, etc, and loads of cheese. served with tortilla chips which was a nice crunch to the meal. flavors all blended well together but felt price was a bit high for overall meal quality. Drinks - Beer was nice and Ale'y, must try the huckleberry lemondrop, tasty and presentation 10/10 Overall our stay was enjoyable with a decent ambiance. Not service dog friendly. Pretty disappointed, I came in with my clearly marked service dog and was told that dogs aren't allowed (we asked for a table on on the patio). I smiled and mentioned that she is a service dog and the host just said "sorry about that". So we left. I got great food for a great price. My Deluxe Burger didn't have nearly enough sauce on it, but the waitress cheerfully brought more when I asked. The service was very friendly and quick. Wanting to try something new from somewhere that delivered, lit upon Hops n Drops, having long wished to stumble upon anyplace in the county that could make an actually great fish n chips. Well, this wasn't the place, just the usual flavorless fish, in a rather mushy batter. Also tried their mac n cheese instead of the chips. It was maybe a tiny bit better than the low standard of say grocery store deli hot-table mac n cheese. Their cole slaw, pretty ordinary, reminiscent of KFC's. Price was astoundingly high for junky fast-food, over $50 per person after tax, tip, and hefty delivery fee! That's with no extras like drinks or dessert or a side, just a regular order fish n mac basket. So not apt ever to try anything else on their menu, though if it were dirt cheap as the quality would seem to demand, I might drop in for take-out someday, but not at $50 per smallish order. read more

Previously Hop Jacks, now Hop n Drops. Everywhere I've gone in the past couple weeks has had really poor service. Shockingly bad service. Today, that was redeemed! I came in for my first time today and you could feel the difference, even the woman who sat us was super kind. But our waitress was wonderful. She was attentive, quick and made great suggestions and checked in on us often. With a small private parking lot, i was worried about finding parking during lunch rush, but we were just fine and were sat right away when we got inside. We both ordered flavored lemonades and they were amazing!(and bottomless!). We shared the potato chip nachos with half cheddar and half blue cheese. The chips are made fresh in house and were amazing! Then we both got the monster French dip with garlic fries. Seriously. The food was great. The French dip wasn't fatty, the au ju was flavorful and the horseradish sauce(that comes on the side) was delicious! The garlic fries dipped in that sauce was the thing of dreams. However, I woke up early in the morning with a god awful case of food poisoning. Spent the following two days in the bathroom, and then it was time to go home. The food was absolutely outstanding we had several items we were hungry especially tonight it was mother-daughter date night so we splurged! We got teriyaki burger with fries & she got a Shirley Temple I got a beer on draft that was on sale & the street tacos (Carne Asada) & the adult size chicken strip and french fry meal. The french fries were crispy with the good crisp. not burnt by any means. Superrr good if you like french fries like that. I did request the french fries to be like that I'm not sure if that's how they normally come. The street tacos were outstanding I got the flower mini tortillas I think that was the only modification to that meal the portion was great I was nice and full I actually wasn't able to eat all of my tacos and the presentation was outstanding I wish I took a photo that was my bad I quickly ate those and then realized oh my gosh lol the chicken strips they honestly looked burnt and I remember saying something to the waitress maybe I was a little snotty possibly not on purpose just annoyed and I took a bite and it was completely deceptive it was amazing they were not burnt it was just the char from the seasoning somehow and that wasn't even burnt and it just was fantastic I felt like an asshole not gonna lie I quickly apologized the next time that she came to our table which she completely paid attention to my behavior while I was eating because she was on par and super attentive. she brought her a game for sure and I appreciated that because I was tired and hungry and not in the mood for anything else but 100% service she definitely had a smile on her face I cannot remember her name it's such a bummer this is only my second time here and my daughter and I felt super comfortable enough so much so that we stood up and took our own photo shoot inside the restaurant in front of everybody there was a small crowd but that environment was so inviting how could we not! look at us we felt so cute ,we were so happy, and I'm just very thankful for that wonderful evening and so is my daughter. We came in today to give the place a try. It used to be called Hopjacks back in the day. Each meal is around $13 so pretty reasonably priced. My oldest daughter got the French Onion Soup, she says it's the best French onion soup she has ever had. With a statement like that I had to give it a sip, she wasn't wrong! My younger daughter got the nachos, they were definitely meh. I would never order that again. I got the fried chicken sandwich and my wife got the western burger. Both were pretty good. When you order a sandwich or a burger you get a choice of fries of house made chips. The chips were alright but the fries were waaaaaaaaaay better. For real, don't make that mistake. They have a line there that they have the coldest beer in town, chilled to 34 degrees and apparently some shots are actually served in ice cube shooters. A huge suggestion is their iced tea, they have it in multiple fruit flavors and it's bottomless. If you get a peach iced tea and finish that you could swap it out for a huckleberry iced tea. Pretty nice. I will definitely be back. OH before I forget, families bigger than 4 that get shoved into booths that are made for 4 people? These booths are huuuuge. We were pretty comfortable.
