He offers ideas that have been constructive for me to help improve my overall focus. He also motivates me to pursue things, and seek advancement in both my career and personal life, where normally I would shy away from trying. I look forward to our visits each month as they are always positive, engaging and encouraging. I like to talk, and he is a good listener and observer. He will know if something is troubling you and try to get to the root of it right away. He would have been a blessing for me in my teen and early twenties when I lived in Michigan. I could have prevented a lot of bad decisions and would have been encouraged to pursue my dreams and personal aspirations. His waiting area and office are also inviting and pleasant to the eye, with warm colours and cozy surroundings. Like the doctor himself, it's calm and inviting. If you're troubled in any way, I highly recommend him, as he will truly aid you in improving yourself and your life.

He didn't have an ounce of empathy about my moms mental state and had the most condescending tone. As soon as we walked in the office he had us on a clock to get out. He was very short, rude and didn't give us a word in. My mom is the sweetest person you'll ever meet and you should have heard how he talked to her...mind you she was in an emotional state...as emotional as it gets! She's mentally ill for God sakes...have some concern!! He changed her prescription without even looking at her cross evaluation & medical records. He did not explain how the new medication would address her illness. Once we were rushed out of the office he proceeded to say due to his busy schedule he would not be able to schedule a follow up appt. for at least 8 weeks. Dr.Simko was the worst! Due to his lack of judgement and situational diagnosis my mother went missing and near committed suicide due to his poor judgment and medicine change. The meds he issues did not address the psychotic state she was in. He simply brushed it off in his office just to meet his time deadline and stated "O this is just temporary break"...I could go on and on with many other inappropriate comments he made... It is fact that mental health issues are drastically different from one person to another, people's bodies react differently to different meds and there are underlying evaluations that need to be made to prescribe medication accordingly. Once a new med is issued the patient must be monitored with care and lots of follow up. Doctors who deal with mental illness know better then to make rash decisions. A good doctor evaluates, offers options for care and follows up. For a facility such as BayCare to promote an intensive outpatient program I would think Phyciatrist's such as Dr.Simko would stand by this philosophy. He offered none of this!!! He should not be in practice and I do not recommend BayCare!

They texted wrong time and my daughter called to let them know it was wrong. Then, not knowing they called her they called me and had a whole different time. She left work early for this appointment(we have been trying to get him help for 18 months now here!!!!) and was cancelled on as she arrived. They even said we might have the wrong name but still refused to help her. Absolutely disgusted with this group. They should be ashamed. Eighteen months of being cancelled on, rescheduling, cancelling, doctor left, and other issues. Do not use them.

So I changed my psychiatrist from a provider I have been with for over six years to a local one…read morehere at Harmony United psychiatric care. My first visit was with a nurse practitioner. They were helpful in getting me on my previous regiment meds that had been pretty successful for the last few years. They did have me take a cognitive assessment test for ADHD even though I had already been taking meds for that. They also made me get an EKG, a bloodwork panel, and the strangest one to me was an eight panel drug test. the EKG turned into having to get $1000 echocardiogram, for an anomaly, that potentially has no effect upon my health. The cognitive assessment was about an hour and a half and pretty intense and seemed very abstract to assess someone's diagnosis of ADHD trying to memorize strange shapes made of colors that all look exactly the same and then having to try and remember them 10 minutes later. It was also a $200 Test. So establishing care there has been quite expensive expensive and I will follow up with more information. Once I have my second appointment at this point I would recommend be aware of the amount of work that they make you do whereas my previous psychiatrist had me do just some bloodwork, and none of that other stuff.
