Top marks for a menu that takes vegetarians seriously and gives us plenty of tasty options and glowing praise too for the steaks that were cooked to perfection and for the excellent the cod & chips in Dougs special batter. OK the ladies loos had seen very much better days, but I'll gloss over the details since everything else was terrific. Well worth a visit if you're in Tenby and looking for a budget friendly eaterie.

How many ways can I say YUM?…read more I first experienced the wonder that is the Plantaganet one Christmas, when the the pivotal three couples in our group of 'kids' munched a glorious meal here. It was amazing. Salmon that melted in the mouth, steaks as soft as butter... Incredible. As a result we've been back countless times since and booked the entire place out for last New Year's Day, something which shall doubtless be happening this year too. If you can catch it in winter, do have some of the delicious mulled wine they serve at the bar. The bar itself is gorgeously decked out in wooden furnishings with lush little wicker cushioned seats and quirky features. The staff are super attentive and the proprietor is something of a character. But the real stars are the dishes themselves. This place does fantastic mussels (fish and shellfish are a bit of a speciality here), the meat is cooked to perfection and the sides they provide you with are insanely tasty. Oh and you must have the bread to pick at for the start of your meal, baked fresh and full of olives and sundried tomatoes. It's a rabbit warren of a place with winding stairs, and it's family friendly and harbours tons of charm and character. I can never wait to come back here whenever I leave Wales. Do try it!

I love the fact that there are little booths backing into the walls like snugs, filled with cushions. I love the food, but more than anything I love the Quorn burrito. Rarely do I find establishments that serve Quorn as part of vegetarian meals, but this Quorn burrito is in a world of its own. Quorn, peppers, onions and Mexican spices, wrapped in a flour tortilla, then baked with cheese on top until crisp, piled high with salad and spicy potato wedges. As well as this you can get a variety of pub grub and lighter bites too, like baked potatoes and sandwiches, or hearty main meals including a belly-busting burger. The drinks are just fine and dandy and the atmosphere's really enjoyable. But really, I'm always there for the decor and the Quorn burrito. Both put a big smile on my face. Hey, and the Greek salad I had today wasn't bad either. Plus their onion rings have been unrivalled thus far. Awesome.

Stopped in for a lunch and tried my first tuna jacket potato. It was delicious - what's not to love? Super dog friendly, matches were on the television, locals crowding the scene. What was surprising was the menu, featuring approximately 12 Thai dishes and balanced exquisitely with 12 pub classics including both pad ka pow and boozy cod and chips. The overall experience had an aire of delay when the waitress greeted us at the door and then hastily rejoined a conversation with her regulars. When we finally made our way to our table, we at once noticed that the pandemic has had no impact in the space between customers in this pub. Any efforts to minimise infection were focused on protecting the staff in their very rare appearances in the dining room. Overall, the experience is as follows: Mayo: it was excellent watching out neighbour scarf approximately 37 packets of mayo while we patiently awaitin the staff to return with the 3 sachets of ketchup that we had requested. Staff: it's difficult to remember the staff considering how very little we saw them. Very short staffed for a very busy pub. Meal: I cannot say a bad word about the surf and turf. Steak was excellent. Mussels, excellent. Onion rings, possibly the best I've ever had. Dessert, nearly called my mum. Cleanliness: gash. I watched a spider dangling behind my date's head.
