the staff truly cares for each child, not just as a "group of students" but individually. they are 100% transparent in what goes on during the school day. provide our kids with group building activities as well as courses to meet each child's individual goals. they use the ProCare app to keep parents updated all day (and I do mean ALL day) of what is being done, what is being eaten, and what is to come. 10/10 would recommend this early development program to every parent read more

a horrible place I was a student who came for the after-school program and I saw awful things they would not pay attention to the kids at all. One time I found a child in a room in the dark by himself crying he had been there for 15 minutes. it was not a Christian environment teachers would always cuss and play very inappropriate music and when parents came they would quickly turn it off they would always forget I was even in the room sometimes and would never feed me all parents might think it's nice but had to go there for 3 years and every time I was there I would cry and no one would notice me they did not have a real after school program they just put us with the kindergarteners there is drama among the teachers and no one seems to know who is in charge and they would talk about me when I was right there. I would take the kids to the bathroom and put them to sleep at nap time because all the teachers do is look at their phones. All parents think it's an amazing place but they only look at the act the people that worked there put on. I knew many kids who hated it there but were too scared to speak up. So from a kid that went there perspective, I would recommend never going to Hope Academy. read more

Had to take my daughter twice in a four month span to the hospital because of this daycare, also not to mention the director heavily suggested that I not pick up my daughter on the one day I have off a week because it was "nap time". Would not recommend bringing your child here. read more

My son goes to Hope Lutheran daycare during the week and we absolutely love it! He had behavioral issues at first because it was his first time in daycare, (he's two about to be three) but Mrs Mary and Mrs Jennifer made the transition smooth and worked on his behavior, now he's doing so much better! I've even seen an improvement in behavior at home! We love Hope Lutheran and we're so thankful to have found a daycare we trust. read more

This is the worst preschool ever. The Director is very rude. I tried to come in and pick up my Granddaughter so we can spend the day and she always has rude comments and trying not to let me pick her up even though I am on the list to pick her up. I feel like she should be at the least retrained on how to speak speak with people read more

My Goddaughter's experience here was more than frustrating. The management does not seem to care about the children or their families with their constant inconsistency and unprofessional attitudes. Not worth sending your children here due to the added stress of finding childcare short notice due to them closing (sometimes notified morning of) after still having to pay the full amount. read more

I really enjoy having my little in this school. They are very attentive and friendly. I love hearing about all of his adventures when he gets home. They are always coming up with creative and fun ways to teach and entertain the children. I feel very safe and confident leaving my little one there. I also love the summer program that my older daughter gets to attend as well. The staff here are great! read more

My son started at Hope Academy in January of 2020 at 3 years old. I was slightly apprehensive because he had been in an in-home daycare and wasn't sure how well he would adapt to such a change. I had concerns about potty training accidents because he was only a few months out of training. After speaking with the director Bev, she assured me everything would be fine and we decided to take the plunge. My main reason for choosing this school initially was my experience during our tour. Bev was extremely welcoming and so patient with all of my concerns and questions. I loved how she shared her own personal experiences to help me feel more comfortable. I was ready to sign all the papers on the spot but she wouldn't accept that. She wanted me to go home and pray and sleep on it before making the decision to commit. I respected this so much because it made me feel like she genuinely cared about me making the right decision for my family and not just enrolling a child. Fast forward to March 2020 when Covid began. I am a healthcare worker who is also a single parent. The thought of my childcare shutting down quite literally terrified me. The Hope Academy and everyone involved did EVERYTHING they could to keep their doors open to their families while keeping the children as safe as possible. They succeeded and did so in the most outstanding way I ever could've imagined. I always knew my son was safe and cared for in a healthy environment. The Hope Academy keeps the parents informed in everything that is going on at all times. The are very strict with ensuring everyone is accounted for and that NO ONE enters that school without them knowing. The Hope Academy is very safe and secure and I'm pretty certain Mrs. Bev or Mrs. Kathy would take down anyone questionable before they entered the front door. As a single parent, I appreciated how well they have worked with me in terms of knowing how to handle my family having to make pickups and the communication. You will not find a better school for your little one. My son learned so much within weeks of beginning their pre-k program. I'm always shocked at the new knowledge he brings home. Their summer camp is AMAZING as well. If you are looking for a school that cares for your child with impeccable skills and also teaches them everything they need to know, this is where you need to be. I am so happy I made the decision to send my son to school at The Hope Academy. I will truly be very sad when it comes time for him to move on to a different school when he reaches 1st grade. read more

I have had 4 children go to Hope. They are all well above public school expectations and never once struggled in transition. Hope's staff are wonderful and really care about the children and their families. Not to mention the prices for tuition as well as before and aftercare are the best in town! read more

Hope Lutheran preschool is nothing shy of amazing. Our 4 year old son attends the pre-k program. Class sizes are small (1:6 with teacher assistant). They cover all essential academia to prepare these kids for kindergarten plus biblical stories and lessons. The teachers are incredible and absolutely have a heart for what they do. My family is truly blessed by Hope Lutheran Preschool. No words can actually describe how much the school means to us, but I will try. Ever heard the song "We Are Family"? That song should be playing in your head right about now. In Feb 2015, I came across a post on Next Door where a neighbor had asked for daycare recommendations. Hope was mentioned by several neighbors and was one of many recommendations that my husband and I looked into and visited off that list. Immediately, Hope went to the top of the list. Student to teacher ratio and the love of children there gave us the warm and cozy feeling that we required for our 2.5yo daughter who could not yet communicate how her day went. The 0830-1200 school day also was enough time to give my daughter time to both learn and have fun, but also give us enough time to run errands and such during that time. We have since enrolled both of our children there and have had every single teacher there teach my children. I can't think of a single complaint about anyone. My kids have grown so much since beginning this learning journey and it has been amazing to see just how much fun they have doing it. My daughter who started there in 2015, for the preschool Monday/Wednesday/Friday only schedule (but they have 5 days a week too for the 2-3 year olds), quickly excelled and is now enrolled in the kindergarten program and is really excited to go on a field trip to the ballet tomorrow (Me too!). Both my daughters don't really like getting up in the morning, but both do so voluntarily in order to make it to morning care (Starting at 0700) to do crafts and sing songs in French. When we pick up early from aftercare, both kids beg to stay around and play (I don't even know why we try to pick up early sometimes because I end up sticking around watching them play anyways. LOL). The kids would stay until 1800 if I let them. I just couldn't ask for anything more from a school that has become family. We love the preschool teachers Ms. Catherine and Ms. Camilia, the Pre-K1 teachers Ms. Winter and Ms. Wood, the Pre-K2 teachers Ms. Santoro, Ms. Wooten, Ms. Wehr, and Mr. Marquay, and the Kindergarten teachers Ms. Rauch and Ms. Shahayda. The school director and music teacher Ms. Powell leads it all with kindness and ease. The computer resource teacher Ms. Riley always is a treat for the girls when they go once a week. The before and aftercare staff are exceptional!!!! We love Ms. Kathy who leads the team, but her support staff (Ms. Camilia, Ms. Catherine, Ms. Noell, and Ms. Jaclyn) are also very important ladies to my kids and they love each and every one. They always go the extra mile! All the teachers are very supportive of the individual students and parents needs. When my child cries because she misses me or a family member, there is always someone there to nurture them and give them a hug, no matter if they are the kids teacher at the time or not. Like I said, it's a family. Still singing the song??? Some teachers are now posting to closed FB pages as well, which gives me a glimpse into the kids day. I love seeing them in their element! Oh, and let me not forget to mention the end of the year book given to each child by the teacher. It is a full binder of pictures and memories of the past school year individualized for each particular student. My kids love looking at these time and time again! It will be a special memory and keepsake forever for both them and I. I'd also like to say a kind word about the families that have their kids at Hope. I have met some exceptional friends at Hope and I am so glad our kids are growing up together. It doesn't get any better folks! read more

Pure perfection. HOPE Preschool is everything I was looking for in a preschool, and my two boys are having great fun learning through play, exploration, and creative lessons. I am extremely impressed by the director and teachers. It is obvious that they are there because they love what they do. They invest so much time in preparing creative ways for the children to learn, and it really shows. They are always having fun and celebrating something. They welcomed the children back to school after winter break with an indoor snowball fight and New Year party complete with party favors, hats, and noisemakers. It was a hit. They also celebrate and learn about holidays like Chinese New Year. My older son, who is in Pre-K, has become obsessed with numbers and counting because his teachers encourage learning in the most fun ways, like counting coins and using other manipulatives. My younger son (in the 3s class) was upset that he only went 3 mornings/week, so we decided to send him 5 days. He is learning so much, too! I'm absolutely in love with the staff and school. They have created a happy, positive, encouraging, and organized environment in which the children thrive. They have set such a high standard of quality education. WORST EXPERIENCE! I received a phone call Friday that I need to come pick up my daughter from the Hope director because she won't stop crying. However, I was communicating with her teacher throughout the day and I have the messages that she was doing great all day and was taking a nap. When I arrived, she was still taking her nap. The director had a quick meeting with me stating that she suggests I do not bring her back to the childcare anymore because she must have "separation anxiety" and that she should seek counseling. My ONE YEAR old should seek counseling?? She stated how "maybe something happened to her when she was left alone and that's why she acts the way she does". One, she is teething and two, this is her very first time in a child care facility. It is going to take more than one week for her to get adjusted. The week before, school was cancelled all week because of Hurricane Florence however, we still had to pay the weekly tuition. All last week when I was getting harassed at my job to come pick her up early because she is crying, I had to pay the full tuition for all of her half days. Now, the director, Bev Yoakum, told me that she suggests I don't bring my daughter back so, I have only the weekend (when all child cares are closed) to try and find somewhere for her to go because I have to student teach on Monday. AND, she will not give me back any of my money nor the deposit money. I went this morning to speak with Pastor Whitfield and all he said was that he was sorry but wouldn't help me resolve the issue. Hope Academy has horrible management and I suggest that you use your money to place your child in a facility worth earning it! read more
