I waited two weeks before writing this review because I wanted time to process everything and make…read moresure I was being fair. My biggest issue is that I was extremely clear with my stylist, Emma, that I did NOT want my natural grow-out touched. Despite communicating this, my natural hair was colored. I have documentation of my communication regarding this, so there is no question about what I requested. I told Emma my hair is porous and needs to be done wet she takes a little spray bottle and sprays my hair when it needed to be saturated. So insane and starts putting foils in my natural grow out! What made the situation even more upsetting was the response from the salon owner emmas aunt. Rather than acknowledging that what was done was different from what I specifically requested, I was told that my hair looked "gorgeous." That completely disregarded the actual issue I was raising. I wasn't asking whether someone thought the result looked pretty! I was explaining that the service performed was not what I had requested. I felt dismissed and gaslit rather than listened to. During the process of removing the color, I also became uncomfortable because I felt that the girls working on my hair were giggling. When I brought this up, the owner told me that I was "delusional" about them giggling and attributed one employee's behavior to a personal medical circumstance and a "tick". I found that response extremely inappropriate and dismissive. Regardless of what was happening with the employees, telling a client that she is crazy for expressing how she perceived an interaction is not how I expected my concern to be handled. To blame this on someone's medical circumstance was insane to me! I later came across a previous Google review describing what appeared to be a similar experience of a client feeling that her concerns and wishes were being dismissed, which made me even more concerned about my experience. There were also significant communication and professionalism issues throughout this situation. My appointment notes were apparently not entered into the salon's computer system, despite the importance of what I had specifically requested. It was like pulling teeth to get a straightforward, honest explanation of exactly what had been done to my hair. I repeatedly had to ask questions to get clarity about the process and products used. Another thing that shocked me was that while my hair was processing, my stylist left to go get lunch ...I found it extremely unprofessional and upsetting. I've never experienced that in 15 years of getting my hair done. The owner's communication afterward was also extremely concerning. I have documentation of an accidental text from the owner that said, "Did you tell the girl what we did to her hair?" Receiving that message after already struggling to get a clear explanation about what had been done made the entire situation feel even more troubling. I also had personal information about employees shared with me by the salon owner that I did not feel was appropriate for a client to be told. I found that uncomfortable and unprofessional. I genuinely hope the salon takes this feedback seriously. My issue was never about expecting perfection , it was about having my clearly communicated wishes respected, receiving honest communication, and being treated professionally when I raised a legitimate concern. Ultimately, something I never agreed to have changed was taken away from me: my natural hair color, which I had intentionally grown out for an entire year. That natural grow-out was important to me, and I specifically communicated that I wanted it preserved. I did not consent to giving that up, and that is the part of this experience that has been the hardest for me to accept. I added proof the text from the salon owner Patricia. When you first walk into the spa portion you are greeted by calming music, dim lighting, and a water feature. All the staff was super cordial. I have been searching for a salon and stylist that truly cares about the health of your hair and who knows how to cut hair properly. Most salons CANNOT cut hair professionally even though they charge you for said "professional cut." Angela will give you an outstanding cut.
