I wish I could go back in time and stop myself, truly. I've paid them 20k in legal fees for the same sort of "legal advice" a random acquaintance might give. During mediation, I was offered a wacky settlement proposal that I didn't fully understand. It seemed unfair in the long run, but had an initial distraction payout price to lure me into signing ASAP. My lawyer was quiet and unhelpful during the zoom meetings with the mediator, and they were answering emails/calls with other clients during the breaks, when I could have been receiving guidance or advice. I had to ask afterward in an email what they really thought about the proposal. Their response was basically, 'losing all your child support would be scary, but hey, that check would sure be nice to have right after signing!' It feels like I paid 20k for nothing, honestly. I have tried to discontinue services to avoid any further costs, and the bills just keep coming!
