This has been an annual girls weekend for about the last decade for my friends and I. It's not too…read morefar of a drive from Louisville and we make a weekend out of it. Over the years the festival has changed a bit. There is now a wine tent, a beer tent and a craft beer/spirits tent. Each tent has its own admission charge. So in addition to paying the $5/$7 (depending on the day) to get into the festival, you could also pay 3 separate admissions for the drinking. We only go for the wine tent so this isn't a huge deal for us. The wine tent was $20 this year and includes all the samples, a glass and a small cheese tray. Don't get too excited about the cheese tray as it is literally 6-8 cubes of cheese and 2 packets of club crackers. Luckily, there is plenty of food outside the tent as part of the festival. There are normally 10-11 wineries and plenty of wine to sample. Some wineries do small pours while others "sample" half a glass. It's very easy to reach your limit quickly if you aren't paying attention. I typically use this festival as a quick way to stock up on my favorite wines without having to go to the winery. Most of the wineries have bottle discounts and some will even double their discount on Sunday. The festival itself has a few craft vendors and different booths to shop at. I picked up a few candles this year as well as some slushie mix for tailgating. There is free parking as well and they have done groupons for discounted entry in the past.

They have rides for kids, booths selling a variety of things and food trucks galore. Today I tried lobster chips for the first time ever...It was an interesting fair food, but hey, I wanted to try something different. As you walk around you'll see several bands playing, pageant competitions and grape stomping on different days of the week. I think this festival is a great event for all ages. Lots of free parking available. Behind one of the bands was boat ramp, we stopped to take a look around at the Ohio river. A staff member picked up a piece of drift wood as we were about to pass it. They take great pride in keeping the grounds clean and safe. Have fun everyone.

Now that that the place is up for sale it saddens us since this was about the only place to go in town to enjoy a peaceful night out, hopefully someone buys the place so we can have more great memories.

Her portrayal was most creative, hilarious and actually historically correct to the delight of our friends at the dinner celebration. Now let me say, This Is Not Your Typical Karaoke. You perform with a live band and they are talented! So if you sing or not come check it out. Many venues to choose from, Jeffersonville River Stage; (by the way it's tonight) or Iroquois amphitheater and Wick's pizza at Goose Creek or New Albany In. Check the link for dates and times. By the way Iroquois amphitheater and Wicks and Iroquois- has tap brews with a semi full bar, plus Cheeser's food truck. All venues I've attended have clean facilities especially Iroquois Amphitheater. Kentucky of parking lots except The River Stage is mostly street. I will attend again. You can sign up ; on line or there is a kiosk. Side note; Iroquois had a few under 21 singers but none seen at Wick's. That's not a problem for me because everyone should have an opportunity to join in. I must say I will be performing tonight (just a little plug for myself from 7 till 8 as a warm up for the main show). It all started off as trying to offer something new with crowd engagement for our employees to cut loose. Once we reached out to FCK, we received nothing but hospitality. All of the band members are genuinely great people, and they encouraged everyone to participate. You don't have to be a good singer to get up and sing with FCK. They will help you through the entire thing, and the concept behind this is amazing! Our CEO was very impressed with the band, and how engaging they were with our employees. 1,000/10 all around! We had a unique opportunity to come here last weekend with a photographer on a Sunday and do pics…read morewith our dogs. (I do not believe that they are normally #dogfriendly during public hours.) Now, of course the rooms (large booths) are set up for humans, so the decor is geared to being able to sit in a high chair or against a background that is higher up, and with our dogs, the shots are geared more to being on the floor, but that didn't matter - we got some great pics and had such a fun time! Rooms we had were Barbie/shopping , Pushing P, Boxing, School, Records, Posh, Space, Smileys, and, my favorite, Milk & Cereal. I took about 300 pics to sort through, ha!
