Great day fishing!
Gregory M.

We couldnt have written a script and had a better day! Monster Red Snapper, Cobia, King Mackerel and sharks! We hooked up on a 7-8 foot Hammerhead and a 12 foot Tiger shark. Amazing trip to take my son on his first charter. The skipper and mate were friendly knowledgeable and dis everything in their power to make this trip a wonderful memory for our family! 10 out of 10!

We had a great time finishing with Captain Phil. We loved his new boat. It has live wells so we…read morestopped to catch some bait fish first thing. He threw out his net and hauled in a mother load! He took us to a few different places. We were able to catch a lot of fish. He kept our hooks baited and we were reeling in fish of all types. I was able to catch mangrove snapper which cooked up nicely! I also caught Jack Crevalle, catfish, and pin fish. Hubby caught some bigger fish and even a puffer fish. Very cool. We had a good time. Four hours went by fast. Next time we will book a longer trip. Thanks Captain Phil!

We went out 2 days in a row and both days Phill was on the fish! The first day we went reef fishing, caught all kinds of fish from trigger, vermilion snapper, gag grouper, amber jack (which put up a hell of a fight) red snapper, black drum, ruby red lips.. all of these on a light rod and real so you felt every bit of fight these fish have to offer!! and all of this in a a 5 hour period counting the time out and back to dock!! 2nd day our was our hunt day so we got red fish, black drum, Spanish mackerel... the Spanish mackerels were a blast to troll for!!!! All in all I highly recommend Phil Wild for you personal fishing guide!!! He even makes a newbie like me actually have fun!!!! Thanks Phil, until next time!!!!

Falling Waters State Park - Lots of flora and fauna

Falling Waters State Park

One of the more beautiful State Parks we enjoyed during our summer vacation. Having never visited…read morethe Florida Panhandle before, we were pleasantly surprised with this campsite. Full hookups, immaculate sites and restrooms, and easy pull throughs. Unlike most of the state, this area is rather hilly. The "falling waters" part of the name pays tribute to the limestone sinkholes that dot this area. Mature pine forests with wild blueberry bushes and a healthy population of critters ranging from songbirds to gopher tortoises to panthers can be found here. We enjoyed a night of camping here and a beautiful hike to the deepest sinkhole and tallest waterfall in Florida. The facility also features day use picnic areas, a small lake for fishing and a swim beach (with appropriate gator warning signs, and even a children's playground area. What a beautiful stop. Photos capture a little but don't do it justice.

Falling Waters State Park initially felt a bit small when we arrived, but as we continued to…read moreexplore, we quickly realized it was much larger than we first assumed. Our first stop, of course, was the sinkholes and waterfall. While the waterfall itself felt a little underwhelming considering it's described as the highest waterfall in the state, the experience was still quite serene. Hearing the water drop, feeling the cool breeze from the running water, and simply pausing to take it all in made the stop worthwhile. We were a bit disappointed to find that parts of the trail system were closed off, which limited some of our planned exploration. That said, we kept walking and were able to find other trails to enjoy. We ended up wandering around for about two hours, though we know we didn't get to see everything the park has to offer. One of my favorite unexpected features was the dedicated bat habitat area, which was both interesting and unique. Overall, it's a peaceful park with more to discover than meets the eye, and a nice place to spend a couple of hours exploring nature.
