History
Established in 2009.
Developing a love for the game
Hooked On Hoops was founded on a genuine love and passion for the game of basketball, as well as the values and life lessons it teaches. HOH understands that players who have a love and respect for the game have a higher level of dedication, self-motivation and passion to improve, thus players tend to play longer and become better basketball players.
Our Motivators (trainers) & The use of cutting edge-skill instruction:
HOH motivators are trained to combine cutting-edge basketball training methods with the application of modern-day sports psychology and the teachings of "old school" values like, sportsmanship, respect, responsibility, accountability teamwork, loyalty and discipline. When players register for a player development & skill training, summer camp or AAU team they can be assured they are receiving the same instruction used by the top DI universities, trainers, NBA/WNBA teams, and club programs across the country.

Meet the Business Owner: Charlene M.
Charlene Murphy founded Hooked On Hoops in 2009. She is also the Head Girls Varsity Basketball Coach at International High School and the 4-8th grade Girls Basketball Director at French American International School. She believes that far too many athletes never reach their potential because they did not receive proper coaching and positive reinforcement during their early development stage.
Coach Murphy's basketball experience consists of playing four-years of Division II college basketball at Humboldt State University, in addition to assistant coaching stints at Chico State University, San Francisco State University and Skyline College. As a high school head coach she led Sacred Heart Prep, Atherton to the Division V Northern California Finals in 2004-2005 and International High School to a league title in 2007-2008. In the last two years her FAIS teams have also captured a 6th grade and Varsity level BAIAL championship and a 7th grade CYO 7th grade DII championship.
