They were going to hold my watch for the owner, Lisa, to replace the battery but luckily, she came in while I was still there and quickly made the repair. Also, I sold them my broken gold chain. So I still came out ahead. The owner and her staff were very nice, the jewelry cases have some gorgeous pieces, and I think it says a lot about a person if they have their dog at their establishment.

He found Glenview Jewelers (thanks Yelp) and purchased a lovely bracelet that can be worn and all times- day and night. When I first tried it on it was huge so I went back to the jeweler to get it fitted. The very sweet woman who was in the store seemed excited to meet me after mentioning she had helped my husband pick out the bracelet. They said it would take about a week to fix and would call me when it was ready. I did a little browsing of my own while in there and they have such beautiful jewelry that I can imagine it was difficult to choose one thing. When my bracelet was ready I went to pick it up twice and both times the store was closed, even though it was during their typical opening hours. It was a little annoying since it's at least a 20 minute drive to my house. I stopped by a third time when in the area and the third time was the charm because it was ready for me. It fit perfectly and I've enjoyed wearing it ever since!

Then last year I inherited a very old diamond ring. One of the diamonds was chipped and had to be recut. Claudia was very honest about what could happen when it was recut. In addition, she designed a new ring incorporating that diamond and another ring. End result - the new ring is gorgeous! Their customer service is great and their approach is very personal. She told me that they would be $50 per band, and I was very specific I wanted them before I left town over Labor Day weekend. She said no problem and she would call me when they were ready for pick up. On Friday 8/26 I called the shop after not hearing from anyone to ask if they might be ready? She left me a voicemail saying they are backed up and that it was now $75 a band. I will say the the woman I worked was professional and nice when I first went there. However, no call was made to let me know that they were even behind. To me that would've nice to know. As apparently the sizing is not done on sight. I'm disappointed as I feel they over promised and undelivered. What was communicated at the time turned out not to be. And when the owner called me to let me know my rings were back at the shop on Sat for pick up. She never apologized or tried to even save the sale. So I was disappointed all the way around. I think it's clear this store strengths centers around original designs but for the service I was looking for it fell short. As a former sales person, it's all about the service. The original designer provided a quote to fix it, but after two way shipping with insurance, it would have cost a fortune. The husband and wife team here matched the price, minus the shipping and handling fees. The repair was finished in a matter of days. Communication was excellent and the proprietor was a gentleman who put the restored necklace back on me so I wouldn't have to futz around with the clasp. I hope more broken jewelry isn't in my future, but if it was, I wouldn't hesitate to use their services again.

To be sure they protect your valuables. they photograph everything when you drop it off and give you a receipt for your items. You must bring these papers back with you when you come to pick them up. They won't release them unless you have these papers to ensure no one else takes your things. I think that's a great idea. We made an appointment for a week after we dropped our items off and arrived to get them right on time. We were greeted immediately and they brought out the jewelry. They take the time to go through what they found, item by item. They also clean your jewelry and tighten any stones. I highly recommend Daniel's for any appraisals, cleanings, and repairs. We didn't buy anything while we were there - they have a great selection and I understand they also make custom jewelry.
