They are currently remodeling due to water damage but should open back up in 6-8 weeks.

Rigging is a highly specialized field where mistakes can have catastrophic consequences, including equipment failure, serious injury, or loss of life. For that reason, I believe technicians should receive formal training, hands-on supervision, documented procedures, and competency verification before performing work independently. My concern is that inconsistent training and the absence of clear, standardized protocols may increase the risk of unsafe work being performed. I believe boat owners should ask any service provider about the qualifications, certifications, and experience of the technician performing work on their vessel and request documentation of the work completed. These statements reflect my personal observations as a professional supervisor and concerns based on my experiences. I believe stronger training standards and safety oversight are essential to help protect employees, the boating public, and the company itself. Based on my experience, I observed what I believed to be an absence of comprehensive, standardized rigging protocols and formal training for employees performing specialized rigging work. In my view, the company did not make sufficient investments in the training and supervision necessary for this type of safety-critical work. I believe that inadequate training, combined with inconsistent procedures and limited experience, can significantly increase the risk of rigging errors, equipment failure, serious accidents, injuries, or fatalities. After a dismal experience at the Houston Galleria Nordstrom, I decided not to buy the shoes there…read morebut noticed that Dick's carried them. Go figure, all of the 'local' stores (some of them 20+miles out) showed one pair so I knew to call to make sure they had them before driving out. Of course, the closest one didn't have them, but the next one out in Friendswood (Baybrook) did. I didn't mind being on hold to confirm this, so I was on my way. The drive out wasn't so bad, and the parking lot was huge since it was in a decent sized shopping center. I did have to wait in the checkout line (which had only 2 people working) so it was about 10 minutes, but more associates were brought on after this. I wish they were on hold in the actual shoe section since I wanted to make sure the fit was perfect and when I brought this up, the guy said I could bring them back if they didn't work out. I took them back to the shoe area after purchasing to try, and they worked. Service was great over the phone with the girl who confirmed the stock, and the guy at the register was cool as well. It was worth the drive out here!

Christian went above and beyond to find the shoe in our size after getting special permission from Justin the manager to sell it since it was not even on the floor yet due to an upcoming Hyrox event they were having at their store. That type of customer service will make us a Dicks Sporting goods customer for life. Their marketing person even came over to tell us about upcoming events leading up to the Hyrox event in Houston and welcome us back. Even though it was over an hour drive, we absolutely will return to this location and will tell all our friends that live closer to this area about how amazing we were treated .

Dropped off reel to get fixed, top screw drive was broken. Yes, I slowed them. 6 months later…read morethey said it was fixed but it looked untouched. Another month later, reel looked oiled, no parts replaced which I thought was odd. Went fishing and reel is still broken. I think they just dropped oil in the bearings because it was soaked in oil. Not happy.
