Additionally, they have two huge covered tents with dozens and dozens of talented artists and craftspeople selling their incredible and unique items. Covering a plethora of art mediums, you can find gorgeous hand blown glass, unique jewelry, wood sculptures and charcuterie boards (including utensils and serving pieces) lots of colorful and pastel ceramics and earthenware, photography of the PNW in many sizes, clothing and scarves, leather goods and accessories and much more. Lots of food vendors, too, with delicious sweet treats, cured meats, pepper jellies and jams, decadent chocolate and coffee to name a few. Live music all weekend and lots of food trucks in the area outside of the tents. And local fruit from farms along Hood River's famous fruit loop. There are so many varieties of apples and pears and you can fill a bag or basket with all types. Pumpkins, gourds and fall flowers like mums and ornamental cabbage are also for sale. Last year I spent over two hours in the craft area taking my time, walking up and down the aisles and then deciding on what gifts I would buy myself and others. I bought two water color prints that I framed and matted, both have views of Mt. Hood, my favorite Mountain! I love wood and picked up several Arcadia serving utensils and small cheese knives and spreaders and a vase. The earrings i purchased have so much movement and I wear them constantly. The treats disappeared quickly as did the large bags of apples I bought to make apple pies for the holidays. Located in the event area down by the river, make a day of it and watch the wind surfers, grab a bite to eat, visit the shops downtown and even go wine or cider tasting. It's fall, y'all, and this is the event that kicks it off! Held annually from Friday afternoon through Sunday at 5pm, I look forward to it every year and more and more friends come with me! I was lucky to find parking behind the main building. There is extra parking back there. Lots of items on display and on sale... they also have goats, chickens, pumpkins, u-pick and a nice hangout garden area with nice views of the area. I liked their cider varieties. I tried the sparkling Apple cider and it was refreshing. Also the bourbon pickled pickles were delicious. Got some fruit loop candles too. I thought some of the prices were high compared to neighboring farms. The ciders and candles are examples. Also felt the employees were a lil overwhelmed and not as friendly or engaging as the other farms I visited on my fruit loop tour. This crisp (and not too sweet) treat was a great way to welcome us - and made the walk up to the tent we had reserved - quite enjoyable. Once at our tent, we loved how warm and welcoming the space was, and you can tell much care and attention to design has been taken to heart (cor) here. My family are not huge fans of wine, but we loved every single glass included in the tasting. We were thrilled to be there on one of the first sunny days in a very rainy 2022 Spring, so we sat on the sunny patio with the bright blue skies and native plants as the backdrop. We were greeted with a glass of Cab Franc Rose, which I had never had before, and we both really enjoyed it. We selected the flight since it was our first time having COR wine and we wanted a variety. The flight arrives in a tin bucket with individual carafes of each pour. There were four plus a complimentary pour, so three whites and two reds. Of the whites, the Cab Fran Rose remained my fave and I also enjoyed the Pinot Gris which was crisp and light. I'm a fan of big, bold reds but because of the sun, the red wines got so hot that we couldn't drink them which was really unfortunate. They did include a small bag of ice in the bucket to keep the wines cool but it was no match for the sun. Next time, even if I am tempted by the sun, I will select a seating area in the shade so we can enjoy all of the wines in the tasting. To round out our experience, we ordered the charcuterie for $35. COR continues to be very careful with Covid protocols so the charcuterie is a kit that you put together. Olympic Provisions salami, a box of hearty crackers, Marcona almonds and casteveltrano olives in mason jars, and a soft cheese were provided; all delicious. Service was warm and friendly, they answered our questions thoroughly. Some customers like to have the staff pour each taste and explain the wine; at COR you pour your own and info on the wines is provided on a card. I prefer it this way so I can drink at my speed and our conversation isn't continuously interrupted with a description of the next wine. Everyone has their own preference but this style works for me. Will definitely be back!

Now, I don't know anything about all the attractions for kids here, but I really enjoyed walking around the goat enclosure, having them follow me around begging for food! When the big garage door open, it brings a lot of cold 'freezing' air to some of the customers/vendors inside. Many of the vendors have Washington license plates, and the Interstate Bridge is 16 minutes or so from the fair. Some of the vendors drive as far as Happy Valley, or Hillsboro to Hood River. There's plenty of parking in the fields. The customers can walk from one building to the next, to shop with their families, and back again when they decided what they want. People can bring their dogs on a baby buggy or on a leash. This is a place for families to gather & shop and eat or listen to music (inside a garage).

There is also the football field/main stage area where a huge concert is held on Saturday of the fair. To the West - there are food booths, vendor booths, games, and carnival rides. Beyond that are the animals brought for display and sale by local residents. To the South - parking in the fields. Between the Park Stage area and the carnival rides are the floral exhibit building and the 4H craft exhibit building. Love this Fair and the fairgrounds it is held on. The people running it are friendly and helpful. It's great to see so many families spending quality time together at the fair. Many of the food vendors are local families with food establishments in the area.

My family and I have been coming here to pick cherries for years. We always come around the same…read moretime: which is end of June/ early July to ensure we have a good picking. Typically we pick anywhere between 20-30 lbs per person. My family loves cherries, especially the rainier cherries. The price is $2.50 a pound. When we got there, we followed the signs that took us exactly where we need to go. Towards the entrance, there are red cherries available, but if you ask the employees, they will show you where the other color cherries are. We decided to walk from the entrance to the yellow cherries. There was a sweet lady that said she will give us a ride back to the top once we were done picking the yellows in her buggie. She stick around the area and kept an eye out for when we were done. Then she drove us back to the cashiers and our car location. Overall, it was a great experience.

It spans several hills and there are two entry point locations. One on Root Oqd and one on Carroll. Check their website which will tell you which cherries are ripe and ready to pick, and at which location. So helpful! While the orchard is really huge, picking is easy because you can drive through the rows of trees and park right near where you want to pick. This makes it super convenient and easy. The fields are flat which is another thing I appreciate. Just be careful walking around as there are sprinkler heads and other things you can trip over. Yes, I'm telling you this from experience! Ouch. Mosier definitely has the best cherries!! And the best prices. At $2.00-$2.50 a pound, they are far cheaper than those on the Hood River Fruit loop. Drive one exit past Hood River (exit 69) to the town of Mosier and within minutes you are at Root Farms and several other cherry farms. The ride to Mosier is beautiful as the Columbia River widens and the basalt cliffs on the Washington side are gorgeous. Since I'm here all the time, I pick at several each season to support local.
