I rarely do bad reviews but today drawers the line. That being said, we pay money to workout. Sometimes we answer the phone, sometimes where certain things that other gym allows that I guess YMCA doesn't. I get it, gym protocols. I have always had gym etiquette due to propped up bringing and the uncles reminding us growing up. However, if you gonna be policing members like no tomorrow. That's not a gym, it's an institution. You can't control the flux of drug addicts coming in and taking peoples gym equipment. But people are breaking into the lockers. Making the environment unsafe? To me please make it make sense. This is why I'm happy I have, Iron Hawaiian fitness and UFC gym. Even though the parking is crazy. The environment is so awesome. I'm glad this is my last year at YMCA. It's definitely not like it used to be before. But I hope it gets better and they start treating their members better.

There are plenty of cross-trainers and exercise bikes but the only downside is that they lack treadmills. The stretching area is in a separate room. Going through the entire building can feel like being in a maze and it might be somewhat easy to get lost. The parking lot is relatively large but it can be hard to find a spot at times, however.

After searching through several options, we were very impressed by Coach Roland and his honest and quick responses to our many questions. Since she's started private lessons, we have watched our daughter become more comfortable in her own skin as she grows up. The repoire Coach Roland nurtures is evident...he knows when to push her but at the same time maintain a level of fun. Even after a long day at school and band practice, she always looks forward to her lessons. We truly believe that the guidance (even sharing his own background of why he started doing parkour) is a large part of what allows her to trust Coach Roland and "the process". After two years, she is stronger, faster and much more confident (AND there's still so much more to learn, which is great!).

In addition, Coach Roland is an amazing coach because he can see what someone can and can't do and will always push you to be the best and encourage you to go beyond your limits!!

I see progression between age groups which is impressive. Teams from the academy win awards. My granddaughter seems to enjoy the program and is making progress. Fees are reasonable for the weekly one hour class. The gym is located in an industrial complex on the west side of Honolulu. Parking is a chore and walking into the complex is downright dangerous with toddlers and cars flying. The entrance needs to have a car-free zone to improve safety. Seating for parents is manageable but uncomfortable. Restrooms are clean.

Nothing really changed except for the price of the hour (in my days used to be $6/hr. Today it's $10/hour & $5/half hr). They give you different wristbands which represents the time you paid for and planned to stay here for. Open gym happens every 1st Friday of the each month. Used to be open gym every Friday every week. When coming here, there are cubbies to place your items. Bring less and leave everything else at home. There's a sitting area for those who aren't jumping or tumbling too. Very minimal parking but a whole lot of street parking near Texaco gas/car wash. One thing that I'd highly recommend is just the sanitization or upkeep of the equipment. They don't have any wipes or sprays to provide and I'm not sure if they clean them at the end of the night. -./")\.-
