Honker Bay Ranch is a beautiful place inside and out. The owners (Jack & Judy) are immensely friendly and welcoming. When walking around their property, it is evident how many amazing amenities there are. There are beautiful details, like an amazing bar & dance floor. Along with the scenic pond and nature around. In addition, their bridal suite is incredibly spacious, and to top it off, they make sure it is locked during the ceremony to other guests aside from the bridal party. One of the things I loved most about their amentities, is that they have additional helpers and support for set up & clean up. Their rules are simple and sensible, and it is obvious they cared. And to top it off, Judy's shed has EVERYTHING imaginable that you could need. We sincerely loved this place and will be recommending it to friends & family in the area. read more

This was by far the best wedding experience ever! Jack an Judy Smith were such a joy to work with Planning a wedding is obviously a stressful situation but they made it so smooth and offered so much help, their bridal suite is gorgeous, the bay was completely full and the redwoods were stunning. The entire property was perfect for an October wedding! They work their butts off to make sure it's everything you want! Literally couldn't have asked for a better day! We got married in May. As most couples, we looked at a handful of venues then found this one. We called and set up a meeting time. We went and just fell in love. After we left, I told my now husband, this is where we're getting married! Jack and Judy were exceptional from start to finish, so kind and very easy to work with. They make your wedding day stress free. Judy has a shed full of whatever you need for the wedding. A bunk house for the girls to get ready in the day of. There's a big space for parking and trailers if need be. The two boys that worked our wedding, were the most respectful, hard working young boys. 10/10 recommend them! There is also a huge, beautiful pond. If you are looking for a wedding venue, this is IT! We traveled 2 1/2 hrs because we LOVED this venue so much to get married here. You have to go check it out, you will not be disappointed. We can't thank Jack, Judy, and the 2 boys enough for everything they did to make our wedding day so special! read more

I got married at honker bay in June. It was amazing. The grounds are beautiful. They were pretty easy going and made us feel welcome. They had a wonderful place for the bride to get ready and a lovely place for catering to set up. The price was affordable. My pictures turned out beautiful because of the natural scenery. They also have a built in bar and dance floor so that also saves on rental costs. They also provide tables and chairs according to how many guests you have. It was nice to have a day to set up and a day to clean up also. Their staff made themselves a little more comfortable than I would have prefered. My deposit check returned later than they had agreed. They are strict with some of their rules however I feel that it was appropriate. I wouldn't change anything about our special day honker bay is a gem. read more

Our wedding was April 16, 2016 and it was EPIC! The most beautiful outdoor wedding we could ask for! They really take pride in their property and it was absolutely amazing! Our 200 guests were so impressed and had a great time. Many said "it was the best wedding I've been to!". We felt so lucky:) Jack answered ALL my emails, calls and addressed every detail I inquired about. He gave great vendor referrals and we were so impressed that we hired him to preform our ceremony. Honker Bay is absolutely beautiful. Our wedding was there October 2011 and I couldn't be happier. Grounds we're perfectly manicured, there is a cottage on site for bridal party to get ready, Jack was extremely helpful throughout the wedding and even for the months before. There was plenty of parking for all our guests. I had no issues what so ever at this venue and would recommend Honker Bay to anyone! read more

Honker Bay Ranch is the perfect place if you are looking for an outdoor wedding!! The grounds are beautiful and very well taken care of. There is plenty of space for a large wedding or a small wedding. My wedding had about 80 people and there was plenty of space. The lake makes a perfect background for your ceremony. There are lights in the trees that are already set up and provide a relaxed atmosphere for your reception. Another perk is that the ceremony and the reception are at the same place so you and your guests do not have to travel between the two. One lesson learned is to make sure you take some type of bug spray with you. I got married the end of May and there were no mosquitoes, but there were other bugs that were just a bother (did not bite). As amazing as the grounds were, they pale in comparison to Jack and Judy (the venue owners). Jack and Judy were very supportive and laid back about our wedding plans. They will be around as much or as little as you want them to be. Jack and Judy and their staff were helpful and friendly to us and our guests. They provide amazing service and are very flexible. There are very few rules that they enforce on a couple. Jack told me many times "you are the Queen, you can do what ever you want" and I basically could. Jack and Judy run a family business and made us feel like we are part of their family. Thank you for such a beautiful venue and such a wonderful experience on our special day!!! read more

I just attended a wedding at Honker Bay Ranch and thought everything was so wonderful that I wanted to write a review myself. This place is off the beaten path just outside of Oroville, California and although I live in Chico, just 25 miles away, I had never heard of it before attending this wedding. The wedding was held in the late afternoon in October and as we drove to the site, I wondered what we would find. As we drove down the gravel road, I saw a beautiful pond with ducks swimming and some llamas grazing on the bank. Pretty pastoral - so far so good! As we approached the site a smiling man beckoned us forward and waved as he gave us a signal as to where to park our car. We parked and walked up a short gravel walkway past the side of a large ranch house (private residence of the owners) which then opened on to a beautiful green lawn that gently sloped down to the large pond. Chairs were set up in front of the gazebo that was situated just a few feet from the water's edge. Trees shaded much of the area and as we looked to our left we saw a small vineyard that was just beginning to turn the colors of autumn. The wedding itself was beautiful and the venue perfectly suited to the couple who chose Honker Bay as the place for their special day. The ambiance was beautiful in a warm and friendly way. Some couples choose to be married in a country club or high end hotel. That's great, but Honker Bay Ranch is just so perfect for an elegant wedding in the country that fits so well for the northern California lifestyle we have in the Sacramento Valley. Children ran over the lawn, folks visited on the lawn and ate dinner on the tables that were situated overlooking the pond and vineyard. After dinner we danced on a small dance floor and didn't have to worry about bothering any neighbors. The hosts very discretely came out near the end of the reception and were very engaging. I can't personally comment on the price but previous reviewers have commented on its affordability. As a guest, I felt completely at home and was able to focus on the beautiful event that celebrated the love of two very special people. Honker Bay Ranch is a hidden gem and I hope more couples check it out for their special day. I think it would also be wonderful for a milestone anniversary celebration or birthday party, a family reunion, or other event that calls for a venue where everyone can be comfortable enjoying themselves with friends and loved ones. read more
