I went for my pedicure and then stopped into Chesterfield Jewelers. I honestly didn't know it was there and had never been. Lovely store and the bench guy was able to take the watch right away and replace the battery while I walked around. A person who walks into a jewelry store for a watch battery is the bane of every jeweler's existence. Why? Because the watch battery person never wants anything else but the battery. You can't upsell them and it's possible you will never see them again. I know this because I am in a different facet of the jewelry business. I was that person on this day and they were truly nice as can be to me even though I walked in about 30 minutes before they were closing and they were packing up the showcases. My watch was working and I went out of town the following day and wore the watch over the weekend. This was a very lovely store and I will be back for more than just a watch battery. I came in very tired about two months ago asking to resize my grandma's ring while going through some serious medical treatment and I told them that I really need to wear that ring one me. Phyllis, the employee took wrong measurements and they resized after 3 weeks of waiting to 8.5 instead of 7.5. I did not complain and agreed to pay so after another week they finally did resized it properly. When I came to pick it up I noticed a wedding band that was about 600 dollars and the owner said that he will give me"discount " and sell it for 500$ plus resizing for another 150$.I was just coming from the hospital procedure and could not think straight so I agreed. Within a week the ring was resized and I came to pick it up and I did not like it and I politely asked if I could resell it at least for 300 o 400$ to get my money back. The owner looked me in the eyes and he said he cannot give me money back because it was resized try to sell it somewhere else. I checked with "Scotsman Coin and Jewelry" and with "Diamond Direct" and they both said that they could only give me back 150$.(within a week from the day it was purchased. Before posting this bad review, I called Saettele Jewelers and talked to the owner telling him that he lied to me and instead of apologizing or offering me refund THE OWNER THREATENED WITH A LAWYER SAYING THAT HE WILL SUE ME. I decided to try my luck with Blust's as I've used them previously to get watch batteries and knew they did repairs. I came in on Saturday, 7/19 and explained the issue I was having. While I didn't catch their names, the man and woman behind the counter couldn't have been more friendly or personable. I could tell they wanted to help me and I was happy to let them do it. They said the main person that does the repairs wasn't in that day but they'd touch base with her and would then lmk if it could be done or not. Fast forward to today, 7/24, when I got the call informing me my stuff was ready. I was a little anxious because I wasn't sure what they'd say but when I got there, it was all smiles. She pulled my jewelry out of the bag and it looked even better than before. Best of all, no clasp issues! She said because it's a softer metal, it's not uncommon for things like this to happen, but she was able to fix them and everything was good. The repairs only set me back $8.00, so again, another win! As previously mentioned, I've been coming here over the years to get my watch batteries replaced but this was the first repair I ever needed. They far exceeded my expectations and you can't beat their warm customer service.
