Catherine has built a niche business walking busy pet owners dogs for them and providing a doggie daycare in Parnell. She runs her Auckland business from Monday to Thursday and can also take your dogs overnight during this time. If you are going away on holiday then you can take advantage of her pet hotel service. Catherine hosts dogs in town and then on her farm south of Auckland over the weekend, where they live on her home farmlet. What an ideal scenario for my Labrador and any other dog that she deems behaved enough to join her. You see it was labrador dog that had to pass the test of being good enough to join the Pampered Pooch club. Phew, luckily she made it!

They also offer a grooming service on site, and a drop and shop option where you can pay by the hour if you just don't have the heart to leave your mate at home while you do the groceries. Plus they are right next to Pak N Save. Our two boys have such a great time. Our 15 week old puppy is learning so much from the other dogs, and absolutely loves jumping in the water for a quick dip in between his wrestling matches. Our nearly 17 year old dog also has a great time. It really brings out the puppy in him and leaves him full of life again. We also receive a discount for the second dog which is a big help. Before attending all dogs must go through a screening process, and have their vaccinations. This combined with the helpful, dog loving staff means it's a really safe environment to leave the furriest member of your family.

There was one time he was given a 'lion cut' like that was in trend for small dogs or something and he looked like Simba from the Lion King. Well now he goes to Barkley Manor and he really enjoys his time there. The staff fuss over him and they always do such a great job of his grooming, he smells fantastic, ears are so beautifully shaped, his paws, his claws trimmed, a nice cut and they listen. Listening is important, us humans don't like bad haircuts so why give your dog a bad haircut? I got them to give him a mohawk once and he looked like he had serious attitude. Barkley Manor don't just shave dogs, they style dogs and they do a damn good job. Make sure you book in advance, like 3 appointments in advance, they are so good that they are that busy, all the time.
