Having to beg for help like I always do and no one is there to help me. I highly recommend looking for other resources in the area because this has been a very disappointing and hurtful experience. Btw the woman who couldn't be bothered to call me back is named Britney. She was out of town for the first week, although you'd think they'd still have someone to help people while she was gone. She's been back for two weeks now so there is NO EXCUSE!

I recently contacted this office wanting to write the Food Safety Exam. Since I already had purchased the most up to date manual from a friend, I just wanted to pay whatever amount was required to write the exam. If I had purchased the home study course from them; consisting of the same manual, study at your own pace and write the exam, it would be $40.00. If I do the on-line version, I pay a third party for the on line course, and pay the above office $10.00 to write the exam. So, I thought the cost to write the same exam would be logically $10.00. WRONG!!! The option to pay to write the exam, having purchased the text elsewhere is, NOT AN OPTION. Colleges and universities have been encouraging students to reuse textbooks for years and years. So, I repeat, what part of environmental doesn't this office understand? The part about not wasting paper to print manuals? The part about everyone throwing out their manuals after one use, since no one else can use them? Did our Provincial Government not recently implement an environmental tax recently? Perhaps instead it's, what part of logical doesn't this office understand? So this office isn't interested in helping the environment or helping the past or future course participant. Shame on you, County of Lambton. In this economic and environmental climate it's a disgrace on both levels to have this continue as is.

Ok, I have always been a fan of the entire "Habitat" concept, especially helping those that help…read morethemselves. Add in the "Restore" factor, designed to keep building materials out of land fills, and I'm even more so. For those that haven't been to a Restore, this is a very good example. Located in a former "Farmer Jack" (a former mid-size Southeast Michigan grocery store chain that went under during the economic issues of the mid 2000's), it carries a wide variety of do-it-yourself home improvement items at much cheap rates than the big box stores. The biggest plus here is the recycling factor though - you'll often find a variety of household and office furniture, in varying states from mildly used to almost brand new. In turn, you'll find plumbing, lighting, electrical and even Salvage wood available, all at very reasonable rates. In short - if you like to scrounge for deals on older/ used furniture and cool goods and have a lot of DIY projects, this is your kind of place.

They help with medical and housing. The housing help provided us with a wonderful apartment. Staff was unrivaled. This is THE BEST shelter anywhere.
