This hardware store also offers an invaluable service of key cutting and can do it whilst you wait for a very reasonable price (better the other branches in Plymouth that I've found). This store is a bit of an Aladdins Cave with shelves here and there selling all sorts of bits and pieces. During the summer they have baskets of goodies outside the shop, usually cheap beach toys, ball games etc. If you're looking for a specific item for your home such as a kitchen utensil you will find it here. Or if you have a browse you might spot something that you suddenly realise you need. They also sell a small range of kitchen appliances like toasters and kettles. Prices are a bit expensive for most items but they do occasionally have some special offers. During the summer they have a great range of picnic things.

However this car park fills very quickly at peak times so I would recommend getting there early. The store itself is quite large with a balcony above the shop floor where there is a Moban shop. There is also and enclosed plant section on the side of Homebase. The staff are usually quite helpful and the prices are quite average. If you are doing up your house I would recommend looking in Homebase to buy your materials as they do have a lot of DIY goods.

You can get good quality S hooks here for your pots and pans; something that is hard to find in North American kitchen stores -- that is because we rarely get European quality items. Great selection of kitchen scale (albeit expensive) and molds for chocolate and cookie cutters. Pastry chefs would not be disappointed. I wish my luggage could fit the 8" round cake liners. Superb customer service. After endless food photography and scenery shots, I ran out of memory on my SD card, they carry that as well. If only we weren't travelling on backpacks... 160 Canadian dollars later, yikes. My husband should have hidden my credit card in a jar of lard, but the new additions are going to be well loved. What a lovely shop!
