Unfortunately I have to leave my experience with caring pathways that happened last year. My soul…read moredog Luke was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma in late March 2024. He died less than 30 days later. To say that my heart was beginning to shatter and my whole life was turned upside down is an understatement. I was distraught , lost and didn't know what to do . I didn't want him to die . That's just the truth . But I knew that he was going to no matter what I did and nothing was going to save him. So I turned to more than one home euthanasia companies here in charlotte. Caring pathways was one of them. I have to be honest and say they were very helpful and compassionate while I was still deciding how to handle Luke's terminal illness. I was going back and forth on whether or not I was ready to help him transition. Unfortunately two days before our appointment for home euthanasia, he deteriorated at home to the point where I had to bring him to the ER and that's where he died . The only good thing that came out of that was I was there with him. My problem with caring pathways is that when I called them to tell them Luke passed away and I would not need the Home euthanasia appointment, that was the last I heard of them. They never called me to offer condolences. They never called me to say anything. I was pretty stunned actually . I had spoken to them on the phone several times prior getting guidance from them all while crying and trying to make the right decision. So in my opinion, caring pathways was only attentive and responsive to me when they were still able to make money off of me. That is my experience. Once Luke passed away, I no longer needed their services therefore, I was no longer considered a profit. My recommendation is to not use this company and to look elsewhere . Pet loss, especially a pet you consider a soul pet, is incredibly painful and to feel slighted from a company that you thought was understanding and supportive during that very difficult time, just made me feel worse and I will never use this company's services again.
