I paid $135 to save $453 this year without any work on my part! That's $318 in my pocket. I love this service! They save me money almost every year. If you don't have the time or expertise to protest your own property taxes, why wouldn't you use a service like this? read more

Very happy with this company! I have used Home Tax Shield for the past 4-5 years and they have done a great job keeping my taxes low. Their support team knows property taxes well and have been helpful answering my questions. Highly recommended! read more

I recommend to not engage with this group based on my experiences: 1) Seriously sup-par "savings" results. 2) Craig (no last name provided) out of the Home Tax Shield Austin area is NOT someone you want to do business with - or rather, he keeps it together for that part, but gets inexplicably very rude, demanding and inappropriate when advised in writing today that home sold (closing this week) and I would therefore not make use of upcoming services... Someone with management skills ought to speak with this person / explain the value and nuances of customer retention practices. Happy to provide the email chain/image of this Craig to aid with such. read more

Home Tax Shield - Craig... - Tax Services Near Me

I paid for the tax adjudication services for two years, but Home Tax Shield never lowered my taxes. It seems they never even submitted the paperwork to adjudicate my taxes, and they refused to send me proof of documentation. This company is a SCAM! Avoid them at all costs. read more

Sent one of my clients to Home Tax Shield and they were able to save him thousands on his property taxes on their very first attempt. He had tried fighting his taxes himself multiple times with no results. He was very defeated until he found Home Tax Shield. Thank you Home Tax Shield for taking care of my very satisfied client. read more

Home Tax Shield made the whole process incredibly smooth. Their online customer support was fast, knowledgeable, and super easy to work with. I had questions and got clear, helpful answers almost immediately. On top of that, I saved a significant amount on my property taxes. Highly recommend if you want hassle-free savings and excellent service! read more

I cannot stress this enough: Home Tax Shield is an unprofessional and deceitful service that you should steer clear of. My experience with them was nothing short of a nightmare from beginning to end Their lack of professionalism was evident in their communication from multiple staff members. Whenever I sought updates or tried to clarify their approach, they were evasive and dismissive. It was as if they didn't care about their clients' concerns and were only interested in squeezing more money out of me when they didn't even deserve it. To make matters worse, their business practices raised serious red flags. I strongly suspect they engage in fraudulent tactics to lure customers in with false hope. Despite their fees, they provided no tangible results and left me feeling cheated. Home Tax Shield is not worth anyone's time or trust. They are liars who overpromise and underdeliver. Save yourself the frustration and find a reputable service that actually cares about its clients and can deliver on their promises. My advice: stay away from Home Tax Shield! (I'm sure someone will respond to this review trying to defend their position and downplay my experience but not going to work this time. You guys are just bad at your jobs and need to be exposed.) read more

These guys saved me hundreds of dollars this year with almost a 40k reduction in property value! They offer great customer service and always reply promptly to any questions I've had. Such an easy way to protest these skyrocketing values we've been seeing. Let the experts do the dirty work for a small fee. That's what I say. Thank you Home Tax Shield! read more

I employed this group for 2 full cycles, and of my lifetime 'savings' of $390, I paid them $356 for services - not exactly a great return for me. Even now, I scratch my head as the house selling prices/ Zillow estimates are waaay below what this company 'negotiated' in price reductions for me on a property. Tread with care and keep your expectations low if you proceed here.. read more

These individuals are extremely unsatisfactory. They fail to disclose the percentage they will deduct, at least not initially or in their advertising. I had to personally visit the tax office to expedite the process, yet they claimed credit for it. Here's a response to my asking them to cancel and stop communication. From some guy named craig "In that case, here's one more email for your records ____. Advise all you want, but when you continue to contact us we will respond accordingly." read more

I'm used to working with a property Tax reduction service when I lived in Galveston for 40 years. I moved to the Kerrville area almost 3 years ago and signed up with Home tax shield. I can say I received much better results with the tax service in Galveston and consider Home tax Shield results embarrassedly sub-standard. I reached my breaking point when one of my land appraisals increased 6 times it's value last year without any fight from Home tax shield. I was already past the deadline before I could fight this ridiculous valuation myself. I will fight it myself next year as it's obviously way above other compatibles and have discontinued my account with Home tax shield. read more

Where the rubber meets the road they failed to do anything for us. I do not recommend and am utterly disappointed. I'm actually confident this isn't even a real company, just a scam. Edit: no, my appraisal is almost 40k higher than what we bought the house for. Scam company out here lying. read more

They will never communicate with you. Their service is way below standards. Do not believe those fake reviews they have on their site. HCAD sent multiple forms to them regarding to one of properties that i need to get signed and notarized. They never communicated with me. As a result no tax reduction. I highly NOT recommend Home Tax Shield. read more

Please, don't waste your time with this company. Collecting cash for doing nothing is a hell of a business model. Taking advantage of the housing market downturn in Austin and then claiming that they were responsible for the measly 20k reduction is theft. Especially when every comp in my neighborhood is 50k cheaper. Zillow/ Redfin also have my property valued at 45-50k less than what they "protested" for. They even added a documents tab so YOU could upload documents to help THEM do the job YOU are paying them to do. Wild. I suggested protesting it yourself. Save yourself the "success" fee and the yearly membership. read more

We save quite a good amount of money on our ever increasing property taxes. Home Tax Shield has great prices , much better than other competitors that offer the same services. Their process was super simple , quick and painless ! Highly recommend. read more

Home tax shield saved me thousands on my property taxes. They also helped some other family members save money. It's been tough in Texas for people that own homes and I appreciate what they did for us. Will be using them again. Note they do everything through email and chat but are very responsive and helpful. read more

Amazing service! Saved us hundreds of dollars off of our yearly taxes! Easy to enroll. I HIGHLY recommend

Great program. Saved a ton of money. More than pause for itself. It's the easiest way to save money I have seen in s as long time.

I am very suspicious of the high yelp ratings on this company. Home Tax Shield took my $ but delivered nothing. How could all those people who left rave reviews have saved so much money when I received NO tax relief on ANY of the three houses. I am in Williamson County, and I got slammed this year with a 35% appraisal increase on all my properties and they are NOT supported by comps! I am convinced that Home Tax Shield did not file a protest for my unfair appraisals or did not pursue it properly. My property tax burden this year was astronomical and the people that I trusted, AND PAID, to help me do not appear to have practiced due diligence. The owner says that they constantly communicate with their customers, but I can testify that they did NOT communicate with me except to tell me that my appraisals were all fair and accurate. I am inclined to agree with the three YELP reviewers that this company is very likely a scam. By the way, it is much harder to cancel their service than to sign up for it! Keep that in mind before you give them your CC and I am NOT a bot! read more

Super easy. Signed up in what had to have been less than a minute. I saved enough to pay a month of my mortgage!!

Home Tax Shield saved me $700 on my property tax bill last year, and all I had to do was signup. I've shopped around and their $30 fee + 30% of savings is the best deal in Texas. I LOVE not worrying about my property taxes anymore. read more

These guys didn't cost me much on my tax protest, but they didn't deliver much either! There was no change in my tax assessment! Fair or unfair? I just don't know. You get very little detail on what they actually did and why nothing changed. I guess you get what you pay for! And, unlike the other HomeTaxShield review response to another unhappy Yelp post, I'm not a bot! I communicated with their Customer team after the disappointing result and I learned they didn't even read the additional backup information I provided them for the protest! They said they had an issue between their Customer Service Platform and their Tax Agent Platform. I wonder if this is the "property tax platform that brings technology and experience to the valuation and protest process", as their Website claims? I assume they submitted the protest, but again, I didn't see any benefit or much info on why no change, just a text link leading me to information that I saved nothing. I will likely try another company next year and save my $30 annual fee, hopefully with better results. read more
