Wikipedia has confirmed what I feel after a session here - it's quackery…read more https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craniosacral_therapy Wish I'd read that before throwing away $55. What I can't figure out is: what's the point of 'studying' a bogus pseudoscience your whole life? Just to earn a living taking advantage of people? All he did was hold his hand over certain areas for long periods, (supposedly 'palpating the craniosacral rhythm') and do a very-very-very-light-touch neck and foot massage and arm stretch. If you want to relax and don't know how to do that yourself , and have extra money laying around, this is maybe for you. For people in real, chronic pain who are desperate for real help, this isn't it. Too bad.

My decision to seek out a provider of body work/therapy/treatment/deep tissue massage/applied…read moreKinesiology is not a scientific endeavor for me. But, I do want results and have been fortunate in the past to find practitioners who have been effective and got results. Without results, I would/will not return for more. Randall Gibson is one massage therapist/bodywork practitioner I can highly recommend based on the results I have received. I have had the good fortune to find Randall in the last year and a half after I had a nasty downhill ski accident where I had damaged some muscles in my calf along with some lower back pain and shoulder pain all from the same accident. While I usually take Advil /Ibuprofen for a week to 10 days and hope these type of injuries resolve this was not the case in this instance. I had taken Ibuprofen for close to 4 weeks at high doses three times a day with very little relief. I was fortunate to call Randall and went in for a first treatment. I was impressed with his insight and variety of techniques based on my problem areas. I have utilized a variety of providers in the past including a very good "touch for health" practitioner in the Akron area. Since that experience with "touch for health" I continue to remind my self when going in for alternative treatment the importance of keeping and open mind to alternative treatments and NOT to prejudge or be negative to reasonable suggestions or alternative therapies. I sometimes think I am being naive when I agree to have a new technique or therapy and that it will be a waste of time. I attempt to be positive in spite of the other "voices", if you know what I mean. Anyhow, Randall suggested the Cranio Sacral Therapy for my back and leg pain after some initial Massotherapy and assorted techniques to relax the tissue. While I was skeptical, I decided to give a shot as I was in both pain and confusion about how to proceed if this didn't work. To my surprise, when Randall used the Cranio Sacral Technique I was able to feel a noticeable relief to my back pain and leg pain. It wasn't a minor temporary relief. It was a marked improvement. And, also, it helps if you schedule an hour slot for the Cranio Sacral treatment as it is worth the extra money and does take some time to administer. I went for four additional treatments but honestly after the third treatment my back, leg, and shoulder were significantly better and well on the way to allowing me to self rehab with exercise and stretching. I was nothing short of amazed at the results Russell was able to achieve with his therapy. He is intuitive and really does care a lot about what he is doing. Fast forward to this spring March 2013. I returned from Skiing in Vermont again and had some whiplash like symptoms from a minor fall. I hit my helmet on the snow on a steep slope and must of done some soft tissue damage. I know...why do I keep skiing? I really do like it, I guess. I went to Randall in Mid March for a treatment and in one session he relieve the symptoms of the injury and also included a "Touch for Health" session. I am grateful for the relief from the neck pain and have been symptom free since that time about a month ago. The "Touch for Health" session was very interesting. It was different from my previous experience with "Touch for Health" in the past. Randall was using the "Touch for Health" to balance out the "chi", energy meridians, and balance in my system along with my muscular skeleton. I was unaware of the imbalance but once again was happy with the results on a treatment that I thought might be fruitless. As Randall went thru the technique of balancing my energy I found it enlightening and amusing that as he found problems that much of it revolved around emotional issues as well as different physical issues which he would have no idea that I possessed. As he was checking these issues I was witness to a relief of a kind of "stress" on my general wellness as a result of this technique. I know it sounds rather non scientific but I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised at the results from the "Touch for Health" session and would recommend others to sample this technique from Randall to experience a balancing of their energy and system. Well, thanks again Randall and I am so grateful for your wonderful expertise and so happy you live in the Akron area!!!!

It's varied services bring relief from a vast array of ailments, and it's practitioners are top-notch and friendly. My interest there has lain with Quantum Indigo Biofeedback, a practice I'd read about for years but hadn't tried. As luck would have it the practitioner is a reiki master named Sandy who is a kind, knowledgable, talented person who truly cares about people and their issues. The results garnered have been nothing short of amazing! In addition to attention and treatment of my known ailments, biofeedback has addressed the core factors at play, giving me a much deeper understanding of my body and the toll that every day life takes on it. And with Sandy at the helm of the machine, I always feel that much closer to solving the great mystery of what goes on beneath my body's surface. Do your-self a favor and give biofeedback a try!

I wanted to wait to write my review after having taken a months worth of classes. I am happy to say…read morethat my opinions of the studio have only improved because my experiences this past month solidified the positive first impression I had on the day I walked in after seeing a sign posted outside. I have taken a range of the beginner classes, including gentle yoga, intro to yoga, yoga basics, and the amazing restorative classes, which are offered several times a week. I could write pages about how much I love this place, but I will try to keep this brief. First of all, the studio is a warm, cozy, inviting environment, and I always immediately become more relaxed by just walking in. The front area has tons of yogi apparel and accessories for sale, and I love the convenience of that. Both of the practice rooms are tastefully, yet simply decorated and the dimmed lights and candles give the rooms a vibe or relaxation and quiet focus. I have taken classes with Melissa and Tricia and I hope to get around to taking classes with the other talented instructors at the studio. The real star, however, is Debbie. As the Brian mentioned, Debbie is one of the warmest, most friendly, genuine people I have met and she welcomed me with such kindness to the area and to the studio on the day that I happened to walk in. She truly cares about each and every person who walks into the studio and she takes her time to make sure you are properly aligned and doing each move correctly when you take her classes. She makes you feel comfortable with trying new things, but she is respectful of personal limitations and varying levels of expertise within any given class. I always leave Lifesource with a renewed sense of calm and relaxation and I am excited to make this place a part of my life here in Akron. I will certainly be extending my membership.

But they have great instructors, ample props including very nice bolsters, a clean restroom big enough to change in, and ample parking too. Definitely will be back -- not taking points off for the floor since that's a very personal viewpoint, and not taking points off for the staff letting people come in late since it's a little annoying but not worth complaining too loudly about (forgive yourself and others, right?). (Also would be good for them to have an electronic sign-in process when arriving, but again, these are all very minor complaints and I will absolutely return here. Stacy in particular was an excellent instructor. My only other suggestion would be for them to incorporate more pranayama and mindfulness meditation (for example, I like when instructors advise setting an intention at the beginning of the session, or positive affirmations, or speaking about the value of letting go... all would make nice additions to their classes, unless you prefer more functional and less spiritual/thoughtful yoga practice).
