My ongoing search for a great Chinese foot massage place led me to try Home Spa. Normally, I wouldn't choose a store in the middle of the mall as it's not that conducive to relation but these are desperate times in my search for foot pampering.
The location is easy to find. Just park by the new Marshall's and enter the mall through the Marshall's. As you enter the mall the place is on your left. The place on your right is a regular nail parlor so don't go in there looking for the foot massage.
The massage was actually great. It started with a nice warm foot soak in a lined (for cleanliness and safety) wooden tub, while sitting in a comfy chair. Afterwards, your feet are dried and placed on a soft ottoman while you are given a great acupressure and massage for 30 minutes.
The only reason you don't see 5 stars is because an essential part of a foot massage is relaxation. It is nearly impossible to relax here. This is a mall store front with huge wall of glass the shoppers are walking by so you get to watch them and they get to watch you. It would probably make a great hangout for people with foot fetishes. Second, while you are being massaged, there will be a wind up kitchen timer clicking away the seconds -tick, tick, tick, tick- until your massage is over. I prefer my massages with some soothing music instead.
The cost is not great for the experience, probably because they have to pay for expensive mall space. I just can't see coming back. read more
