Within less than one year from having a new front door installed by Dans, it's been nothing but problems . The wood around the striker broke shortly after install, I called them and they talk to you like you've never used a door before , they put all the blame on us for being too aggressive opening and closing the door and the project manager constantly had to leave multiple times for personal problems (which has nothing to do with the customer- we all have problems in life) ) - all this with a lifetime warranty on the door, which they point out when purchasing but they don't honour it. The hardware on the door never stays tight so every month I've have to re tighten all the hardware (which is absurd ) and they said they would try to fix the broken wood by the striker but they never return your call or show up - I'll be replacing this door before it's even 3 years old because I'm sick of the maintenance required to just keep it operational . Worst customer service I've ever had . Save your money and buy elsewhere. Buyer beware I only gave one star because I couldn't give zero stars

They came out promptly and helped me out when one of the windows shattered out of my business and I literally could not go home until it was fixed. I spent a lot of time guarding the hole in the building where the window once was until Guelph Glass showed up and saved the day! They have done not only big jobs for me, but also tiny ones as well. Once I had them put a piece of glass into a locket for me and they did it cheerfully, even though I'm sure it was a pain in the butt, and frankly, not even worth their time to do. AND they even gave me a FREE box of glass once when I asked them for some of their extra unusable pieces for an art project I was working on. So I HIGHLY recommend Guelph Glass for your biggest projects and also your smallest. They're fast, friendly and fabulous!

Sambor has deceived, TRESPASSED and wrongfully diagnosed the cause of problem…read more I wasn't sure if the water stains around my Velux skylight was from condensation or due to a leak so I called Sambor as they are the ones that last shingled the roof (hired by the previous homeowners). Sambor's "senior" estimator determined it was leaking, and he stated multiple times that it was leaking due to poor installation of the shingles and exposed flashing. and said it should be covered under warranty. After he spoke with the owner and "customer service" manager, I was told they couldn't find any evidence of the work being completed by them, despite me giving them the receipt with the previous owner's name, and Sambor owner's signature saying it was paid in full. When they finally acknowledge they did do the work, they then claimed the skylight was installed after the roof, and not by them. They also told me the warranty was with the previous owner, not me and quoted me $800 plus the cost of flashing to fix it. After illegally trespassing, they offered to do it for half the price- to do me a "favour", and when I accepted - never heard from them again. I brought in 2 other roofers who quoted half this price however, I didn't realize I should have consulted with a certified Velux installer. When I brought one in, he was quickly able to confirm that the skylight was NOT leaking, it was condensation. That so called exposed flashing, is the saddle flashing, which is meat to be exposed with this Velux skylight He also explained that Velux doesn't sell to those who have not have received training from them. So there was actually no problem. Just as important, all 3 contractors confirmed that there's no way the skylight was installed after, which is what Sambor has claiming this whole time. A simple non-issue that should have taken less than 5 mins to figure out, turned it into 6-week long fiasco due to sheer incompetence on Sambor's part. They came to my house 4 times to "diagnose" this (always late and unprepared e.g. didn't have a ladder)- one of those times they ILLEGALLY TRESPASSED -went on my roof while I wasn't home without my permission or knowledge to take pictures to try to prove the skylight was installed after, which they still could not (this happened AFTER I hung up on them because they were rude and hostile - yelling at me), and then were dishonest about it -nor did they give me the pictures with date despite asking for them several times. Truly appalling behaviour. Use them at your risk.

During the installation, the crew was incredibly careless and damaged the plants in the front of my house. I understand that accidents happen, but the installers didn't even try to be careful or have the basic courtesy to report the damage to me before they left. Additionally, I was shocked to find out that my new backyard sliding door is noticeably smaller than the original one. I was never once informed during the sales process or prior to installation that there would be a reduction in size. To make matters worse, the hardware quality is highly questionable. Less than three weeks after installation, the door handle/flush mount pull broke off under completely normal daily use. When I contacted customer service to report the broken hardware, I fully expected it to be covered. Instead, they told me I had to pay $40 for a replacement part. I just spent thousands of dollars on these windows and doors, and they are nickel-and-diming me over a defective handle that didn't even last a month. You can always tell the true quality of a company by how they stand behind their products and honor their warranty when something goes wrong. In this case, Ecotech completely failed to do either. A word of warning to future buyers: just be careful of those "too good to be true" reviews. Research the company wisely--look into not just the windows themselves, but most importantly, how they actually handle their warranty. Don't just rely on the smooth sales pitch from the salesman. Be sure to check Yelp for more honest reviews before making your decision. Highly disappointing experience. I cannot recommend them.
