This time however there were fees for "the application" and non refundable deposit. I believe 200 dollars...paid up front...never returned. If we decided not to go with them, or decided to stop after a few visits...still the 200 is gone. The owner never called me back after multiple requests. There was a snippy intermediary that told me that "now we do a thorough background check and get great people"...accounting for the new 200 fee. So...you didn't have great people before? You weren't doing background checks before? I was told: good luck to you. They hung up and my call was never returned. On the national site (other locations) people say the cost is lower with direct pay from your BANK ACCT. however multiple people reported difficulties with continued money coming out after cancellations and difficulty getting money back. We used another agency, popular in the area, and have had glowing success...and no fees! So comfort keepers..thanks for the 'best of luck' comment'! It worked! We feel lucky!

In October 2019, I ordered supplies and sent them a check for about $36; 30 days later, I called and asked why I had not received my supplies. They told me they had mis-applied my check to someone else's account but it was straightened out and they would ship me the supplies. They did - but first charged me on a credit card they had on file. Numerous phone calls and many hours in conversations later, a CSR acknowledged their error, told me they would send me a refund. I did receive a refund -- and a bill for $36. Back on the phone, this time they said they did not receive my check (although they had the date, amount and check number). Arranged a copy of the check, sent via email to Apria. Then last night at 8:43 PM, received another dunning phone call from Apria. I refused to talk to them. Prepared to send a certified letter to Apria CEO Dan Stark but called first and found they have my account at zero balance. Today's date is February 5, 2020. I strongly advise against doing business with Apria Healthcare. Over the years, I have consistently dealt with CSRs whose accents were so thick and made them unintelligible that I literally had to ask for someone whom I could understand. The bottom line is that they do not do what they say they are going to do. They would tell me whatever I wanted to hear to get me off the line and then undoubtedly return to more important tasks, such as reading comic books or filing their nails.

Word spread quickly to another family in need. Unfortunately they were out of caregivers plus a holiday weekend. Of course, it is a supply-demand business and I am hopeful they will continue quality care and work on increasing supply to meet the demand!
