History
Established in 1997.
Home Instead is the world's largest provider of comprehensive, non-medical home care services for seniors. The Home Instead network has been delivering in-home care for more than 20 years.
In 1997, Steve N. helped bring Home Instead services to seniors throughout Wisconsin by opening his first franchise location in Green Bay. Now with additional offices in Appleton, Cedarburg, Kenosha, Oshkosh, Madison, Racine, Sheboygan and Sturgeon Bay, Steve has personal ties to the senior-care space and is a passionate advocate. In fact, Steve's business is dedicated to the memory of his grandfather, Al DeCleene, who battled dementia, and passed away shortly before the opening of Steve's first Home Instead franchise.
When Steve opened Home Instead locally in 1997, he was its only employee. Today, his business employs more than 800 full- and part-time employees, and is among the largest of the 700+ franchise groups for Home Instead worldwide.
Meet the Business Owner: Steve N.
Steve revered his grandfather, Al DeCleene. When Al was relocated to an area assisted living facility for his remaining days, Steve and his family knew it was the best option at the time. Still, the transition was difficult for everyone, including Grandpa Al.
It was through this family experience that Steve decided to open Wisconsin's very first Home Instead franchise in 1997. His goal was to provide seniors like his Grandpa Al and their families more options as they cope with the challenges of aging.
