The last caretaker for my husband, who has died, was a kind, capable 23 year-old. She stayed with…read moreus for many months and worked 7 days a week. A gem of a caretaker. Of the 5 or so other aides who came here, two also were young and very good, until one let my husband fall, with injuries that sent him for 20 days to a nursing home, and the other was a no-show on a day when I had to get my husband to the hospital for an urgently needed transfusion. The manager, who is in Syracuse, does not know how to manage a business involved in home-care-giving. On two occasions she screamed at me on the phone. One day she ordered me to leave my home when the caretaker came. That particular caretaker was a nut who lasted 4 hours at our home. She told me among other things that she was a millionairess, drove a Mercedes, and had a sister with severe psychosis. The manager let that nut tape me in our home. When I find out about the taping, I threw the woman out. I suggest Interim find itself a new manager.

This company provides Home Health Aides for disabled / elderly people so that they can have some…read moredaily help with their daily living needs. We have been using them for about a year. I would not actively recommend them. The office staff is very poorly organized when it comes to scheduling the aides and covering call outs , leaving the client hanging. They are a bit of a Mickey Mouse operation with the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing. Most but not all of the office staff ladies are amicable to deal with but bottom line in my book is I'd rather have and I expect to have competency as a priority over anything else b/c at the end of the day it's the client and not those office ladies that end up suffering for their inability to do their jobs correctly.

I really don't think this place is reputable, or at least not competent. I bought a big-ticket…read moreitem here and was told that since it was a medical device there would be no sales tax. Only after the delivery people left did I scrutinize the receipt and discover I had been charged $200 in sales tax. I called a different local medical supply place to make sure I hadn't been dreaming when thinking there would no tax on this device. They assured me there would not be. So I had to get back to Penn-York to have them refund the sales tax. "Gee, I can't imagine how you ended up being charged sales tax," my sales person eventually told me. I would guess either incompetence, or a hope that I would not question the sales tax, thinking I had misheard this, and everyone there could go out to dinner with that $200. He blamed it all on a computer glitch. I'd almost be willing to pay $200 just for the courtesy of not being yelled at when I called to point out that mistake. "I bill is wrong. I got charged more than I was supposed to..." I began. "I told you! If you paid with a credit card it would be an additional 3.5%!" my salesman yelled before I could explain the situation. "No, I was charged tax. I'm almost certain you told me that there would not be any tax because it was medical device." "There is no way you were charged tax!" "Well, I'm looking at my receipt, and there is a box labeled 'sales tax' and that box has $200 in it.'" Then there was some run around where first I'd get a refund check, then I was told they couldn't do that--the money would be refunded back to my credit card--and then it went back to sending me a check. At one point in the conversation I said something like, "Well, before you erroneously added $200 to my bill for tax..." and the lady I was talking to said, "How dare you say we did that erroneously! It was a simple error!" I had to say, "Lady, the word 'erroneously' means 'in error'." Gee, get an SAT review book and start studying some vocabulary words. Take my advice. Deal with UHS Home-care if you need to make a purchase.

All were very professional, accommodating, efficient and cheery even on a late Friday afternoon. They clearly cared about my circumstance and for that I am very grateful.
