Though I primarily dislike reviews of any sort since the readers have no full knowledge of the…read morewriter's expectations and background to make a sound decision on what is written. I read the negative reviews to learn how those being reviewed respond to their just or unjust negative reviews. On the rare occasion when I do decide to share my thoughts on various businesses, I like to share positive thoughts and allow enough time to pass to confirm the company is truly deserving of a positive review. Apple Care and Companion are consistent with their well-deserved 5-star reviews/ratings. Laurie and Apple Care and Companion were introduced when my mid-90s young mother, my well-meaning boss, and I decided we should get "some help". Though we were repeatedly encouraged to go the independent contractor route through Care.com, we decided that using an agency would be the best route for this transition. Our initial impression of Laurie and the company she owned was extremely positive. We felt that she would make the transition seamless, especially since there is no support system with our closest relative in England, dealing with similar issues with his mother-in-law. However, we did not feel there were enough "caregiving needs" for the required 4 hours per day/12 hours a week requirement, and ultimately selected another company. After my mother's first hospitalization, we severed our connection with the first agency and upon my mother's return from a 6-week stay at a Hospital/Nursing "Rehab" in an extreme debilitated state, Laurie was immediately contacted to HELP! Calmly, she quickly found the necessary foundation to allow my mother to start getting some of her pre-hospitalization life back as she regained more mobility and attended various social opportunities. Laurie has an impressive and extensive knowledge of the services and opportunities available to enhance the lives of her clients! Having had Apple Care and Companion assist with my mother's ADLs for almost a year and a half, I can sincerely state that both she and her husband are extremely committed to their business and are extremely supportive of the needs of their clients and the clients' extended family. Though it is important to have a good fit with the hands-on caregiver, the agency will usually set the tone for their employees. This additional support was demonstrated during my mother's recent second hospital stay and was extremely appreciated. Laurie should be the first person anyone with a loved one needing additional care should contact, especially when the loved one's needs start to increase!

The prescription I have been taking for the past 9 years can carry some unwanted stigma. Less than 1 star. Any family considering this company should study our opinion in this review and…read moreconsult Health and Human Services about their record. We've had numerous injury reports from my parents regarding their care in the last several months as Harmony has grown their business at our facility. The injuries weren't malicious that I can tell, more symptomatic of their over-burdened caregivers who constantly rush to keep up and cause damage along the way. They have 1 caregiver in the morning and 1 at night covering *22 patients* at this facility. Because they started with my father first, that meant he had to wake up at 7:45 AM out of a dead sleep each day to keep their schedule and he was pulled, pushed and prodded causing significant pain in his neck, back and bedsores while getting him cleaned. When operating the Hoyer lift, they consistently banged his head on the door frame or bent his neck sideways because the mesh netting wasn't centered correctly which I witnessed personally. When he or my mother would beg for mercy, they had the audacity to complain to their corporate team that they were being insulted. The corporate team were never interested in our version of these events. Every time the company tried to send help, the new caregiver would quit within 2 weeks due to the conditions they were thrown into and how they were treated by this company, always a red flag for an agency. It became a joke at the community which Harmony CG we'd get to 'meet' this week as they desperately tried to staff to meet needs unsuccessfully. Nothing was more unprofessional and negligent at this company than the corporate staff who are impossible to get ahold. The moment we informed them we were moving on from their services to another provider, however, we had no problem hearing from them. They discharged us within 24 hours via email which left us completely alone. Our new service hadn't had a chance to take over yet, so we were left completely scrambling. Because this was in violation of our agreement and my dad's patient bill of rights, we were advised to call HHS. The day before his discharge, his CG shoved his pillow down to speed up the decline of his bed which destroyed my dad's neck. They delivered the wrong meal to him at lunch (he's diabetic) and then we realized after they'd discharged him that he'd been left with a full diaper for HOURS. We are not the only families who've had these issues at this facility either, hence the other agency being brought in. Hopefully no one else goes through what my family has had to endure by Harmony Home Health. Do your research. Protect your family. I'd recommend finding literally any other option.
