If I could leave ZERO STARS, I would. This company is a scam. I ordered nearly $11,000.00 worth of cabinets from them. Months later, I inspect them and find nearly 75% of them to be damaged or defective in quality, fit, and craftsmanship. Cabinets were split, cracked, leaning of kilter, separated, uneven, scratched, dinged, missing paint, and everything else you could imagine. It looked like a drunk sailor assembled these. They tried to deny my warranty claim and said it was the shipping company's fault for the damage. They also tried to deny my claim because I didn't let them know within 30 days, even though this was a lifetime warranty issue. We argued back and forth and they finally sent me a shipment of replacement parts. Yes, PARTS. Not new cabinets, just bits and pieces of cabinets that I would have to swap myself. The new order came with tons of boxes. I inspected the new shipment and found nearly every item to be defective. Scratches, dents, dings, missing paint, corners not properly rounded, edges not straight. You name it. We went rounds again and they sent a new shipment. This time they claimed they would be inspected thoroughly before being shipped out. I waited months again until the replacements came. Again, they were in miserable condition. I found multiple flaws on every single piece. Dust and contaminants under the paint, scratches, missing paint, dings, uneven coating. The quality of these cabinets is a joke. I said I wanted a refund and to give their cabinets back. They refused and offered me $400.00 to keep them and not send replacements parts. I'm furious at this point. I refused that offer and they offered me $2000.00 to keep them and not ship replacements. I refused that too. I am now in the process of retaining an attorney and filing suit against them for my warranty issues! Please do not give your money to this company. I sacrificed to pay cash for these cabinets that were advertised as beautiful quality, but they are a scam. I have pictures documented to prove all of this and will take them to court. We bought a cage ceiling fan that I loved in 2020. The fan blades portion is like a pedestal fan, not like the typical ceiling fan blades. It wasn't cheap and I would have expected it to last. While it does have a lifetime motor warranty, the components are only covered for 2 years. Fast forward to earlier this week, the fan blades split in half, turned a bulb to shards and damaged the wall. Don't bother calling the company, the blade isn't offered as a replacement part, I was told to go buy a new fan. I did notice newer versions are caged in on the sides now. They warranty the motor for life but you can't replace the $12 blade? Go buy a new one? Plus the possibility for potential injury. I did figure out a blade from a pedestal fan will fit and will be installing chicken wire around the sides, which will fit in fine with my old farmhouse. read more

Never buy from Home Depot home decorators collection. We spent a $1000 on a pantry. The first one we received the frame was broke. They were very helpful and did send us a new cabinet. Unfortunately, The replacement cabinet arrived without the top door, hinges, drilled holes. Nothing!! Contacted them again- mind you this is cabinet number 2- we will and you the door and hardware and you can call a cabinet person to put the door on- we might be able to give you some money to help cover the costs. We installed a Home Decorators Collection Grovehurst 48-inch W x 20-inch D Center Rectangle Basin Vanity Top in Engineered Stone in Sept/21. Immediately noticed 'etched' spots on vanity top surface. These have multiplied daily and it looks terrible. Spent several hours on phone trying to get help. Have emailed and unable to get follow up. Home depot sympathetic and will take back - whcih means we have to uninstall all - plumbing, vanity - get onto a truck and take back. Plus all inconvenience of waiting to get something else. I've been receiving the catalogs from this mail order furniture and home decor store for some time before finally ordering. I've placed several orders since, and have been so pleasantly surprised and totally satisfied with the quality, promptness, and prices. Almost all the items require assembly, and they are shipped "flat" in order to cut on shipping costs. The deliveries are scheduled a few days in advance, so you can be sure to be there to receive them. The instructions were clear, and within a little more than an hour, your furniture is ready to go. The workmanship is great, and the engineering is also perfect. For most items, solid wood is used in constructions. Sometimes the back panels (like the flat pieces that are behind the books and against the wall on a bookcase) are made of veneer, but that's okay, because these areas don't tend to get wear & tear -- they are for stability/looks only. Usually only a screwdriver or hex wrench is required. (My tip is to treat yourself to an electric screwdriver if you don't have one -- will save mucho time!) My first purchase was a beautiful 72" high glass-doored 5-shelf cabinet. It is gorgeous, and cost less than $300. I then ordered two Tiffany-style stained glass ceiling lights for my den. They are gorgeous and were only $39 apiece (a bargain for leaded glass of this quality). My latest order was for two enormous solid-oak craftsman-style bookcases, which together fill a 100" wall space, and are 74" high. These are in a light oak finish, and absolutely stunning. The packages were heavy, and my nephew came over to help us put them together. (I use "help" loosely -- he actually did all the work!) (Thanks again, Breton!) Together, the bookcases, including shipping, were less than $400. I compared prices with Ikea and could find nothing close, especially given that most of the Ikea lines are laminate over particleboard, and they charge an arm and leg for shipping. Since I don't own a truck, it isn't feasible for me to haul home Ikea's large packages. I also compared prices with local wood-furniture stores, like Hoot Judkins. A similar set would have been close to $1000 there. They also have a discount outlet, and I always check that website first, to see if what I'm looking for might be on sale. I've ordered twice from them. In 2010 I placed a call to verify the dining room set I wanted was in stock. They said it was. Then, it wasn't. After several calls & a few weeks, I found the same set through another on-line retailer and it was cheaper. I called THEM and they said it was in stock. I ordered it from them & it arrived promptly. I called HDC & cancelled my order, which still hadn't shipped, and they reversed the charge on my credit card but CHARGED me a cancellation fee!!!! So...4 years later...they had the ONLY printer stand that matched my desk. Since it was on clearance, I decided to give them one more try. This time it arrived on-time, but the top was seriously damaged. I took photos and emailed them & spoke to customer service. They decided to reverse the charge since the return postage was too pricey. BUT...they charged me a restocking fee!!!! Never again. SCAM ALERT! For what it is worth, I cannot attest as to the quality of merchandise this company provides, because I have yet to receive anything from them. I purchased a rug over a month ago - a very attractive runner that looked to be of high quality. The item was indicated as "in stock," which according to shipping information on the company's website means it will ship out from the vendor within 24 hours of order placement. One month later, this item has not arrived. I had to call customer service (usually very responsive without having to go through a long telephonic menu) 3 times just to receive a confirmation e-mail that my purchase had gone through. The order confirmation listed a ship date nearly one month later than the purchase date (November 16; order placed October 19 - again, it said "in stock"). Fast forward one more week, this item has apparently not shipped. I have received no further correspondence from the company. I have telephoned frequently and spoken to some very nice people who are unable to provide contact information for the vendor so I may speak to them directly. Several attempts to have customer service call the vendor while I was on the line resulted in unanswered calls, downed computer systems, or disconnections. I am sure, based upon the reviews here and the items on the website, that this company provides some good merchandise. I bought a bathroom vanity the Sunday before Cyber Monday and called my order in over the phone rather than online. I specifically asked the woman I spoke with if I could get a better deal on it because my $398 vanity was going to cost $125 to ship, and she told me that was the best she could do. I also did not receive a confirmation email, which concerned me. I checked their website the next day and they had a free shipping plus 10% off promotion for Cyber Monday! Not to mention I still didn't have a confirmation email, so I had no way to pull up my order to compare what I could've saved. Fortunately, I called over right away, and the woman I spoke with offered to credit the $125 shipping back to me, even though my vanity had already been shipped. I also cleared up the confirmation email; apparently, the woman I had spoken to the day before had entered "89" in my email instead of "90", and I received an email confirmation immediately. Overall, wasn't so pleased with the customer service initially, since the first woman I spoke with should've told me to wait a day to place my order to get a better deal, but was pleased with how willing they were to work with me to fix the solution. So I ordered a shag rug from these guys on the 11th of November. A week later I received an email from them stating that my order was going to be delayed until the 11th of December (yes, a month delay for a stupid rug) . Accordingly, I called them up to cancel my order figuring that i'd just get a rug from somewhere else that could actually ship on time. When I tried to put the cancellation through they told me that they had to "confirm with the vendor' which could take up to 48 hours. A week later, they were still "confirming'. I called them up today to see what was going on and they tell me that the rug has actually shipped so the order can no longer be cancelled. Essentially, they used delaying tactics to make sure I couldn't cancel / claim a refund before the rug shipped. I had a very similar experience with this company that it appears many others have had. I too ordered a product that was stated as "available" on their site. I placed said order and received confirmation on the 5th of this month (Jan 14') stating that it would be shipped of the 9th. This confirmation also displayed my shipping and billing address which will raise question to another dilemma as this story unfolds. On the 14th i received an email from HDC stating that they were experiencing an additional delay is shipping the item I ordered and that it would now be shipped on Feb 13th. This company is just pathetic... I ordered some beautiful hand carved Indian style chairs to be shipped to Canada. After a long drawn out conversation with several different people it was decided that my credit card was finally going to be accepted. (However, it had to have a US address attached to it.) I needed the items to be shipped quickly and they would not allow my own shipping company to intervene. With many phone calls and attempts to have the chairs shipped in time for my dateline it was decided that paying more for shipping I could have UPS bring them to us over a two day time. Keep in mind that I never spoke to the same person twice. Each time I called there was a different person tell me a different story. I received a conformation number and a guarantee that the product would arrive on time. Monday rolls around with a phone call to confirm one more time that my shipment would arrive when they said and yet someone different told me that it was not put on the truck. So at this point I am completely fed up understanding that I can't believe anything these people tell me. My chairs would definitely not arrive for my deadline and I would have to look for an alternative. If you are considering purchasing something from Home Decorators, think twice. I cannot recommend this website. on 05/30 an item was ordered; confirmation showed ship date of 06/02; when item was not shipped email exchange indicated new ship date no later than 6/7, next 6/13 next 6/17 next 6/28 - item was at last shipped 6/23. All of this while status showed "Reserved, Not Shipped ." Along the way, minimal credits were offered as an enticement to not cancel the order. One of these credits (a paltry $2) was not given until a complaint was registered. I have ordered multiple vanities from Home Decorators in the past. This time, however, I placed an order for the Newport 31" vanity in black. It arrived damaged, so we called to see how it could be returned. We were told that since it was ordered through Home Depot, we had to return it to them and order another. Huge inconvenience and unnecessary wait time. It's been a year since we installed the vanity. The basin has cracked and the front material, fake wood, I guess, has chipped off in multiple spots. This vanity is in a guest bathroom, not used often. Home Decorators does NOT stand behind their products. Because it's been for than 45 days, they will do nothing. Do not buy from them. I just want to warn people before they do business with this company to error on the side of being safe rather than sorry. Go elsewhere to shop online. I purchased patio furniture cushions from them on 4/22. My credit card was charged the very next day. The items did not ship for two weeks after that. That right there is one problem. Merchants are not allowed to charge a customer's credit card until they actually ship the products that were ordered. I received the items in a timely manner, but changed my mind after finding a better deal elsewhere, so I returned them via UPS. This was on 5/13. UPS's wed site indicated they received these items on 5/17. On 6/4 I called to check on the status of the refund and was told it was in process. That it would show up soon on my credit card statement. On 6/18 I called again after still not seeing anything on my credit card by way of a refund and was told it was still in process. Called again on 6/22 and was told the same thing again, still in process. They have had since 5/17 to refund me. It is now 7/3, almost two months later. And the credit they owe me is a significant amount of money. I no longer believe that they have any intention of crediting me back. After googling this company for reviewer comments I see I'm not the only one who has dealt with this exact problem. Hundreds of people have written reviews just like mine. When just a few people gripe about a company I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt, but when hundreds of people are saying the same thing, buyer beware. read more

I ordered 11 sets of Bali Neat Pleat shades. This set off a string of at least 7 emails about my order "personalization", even after I Replied, and telephoned that I had no idea what they were talking about and I had made no order change. On my phone call it took a lot of coaching from me. After about 20 minutes they finally figured out someone had goofed and transposed my online order into a color ID number that, as I walked them through their own website, I was able to show them did not exist. My phone call, nor the 7 Replies to their inane emails did nothing to stop the emails insisting my "personalization" was holding up the order. There is apparently no communication at all between their various departments. Then, half the blinds finally arrived after about three weeks, and I received a note that the others were not going to be shipped for another 30 days! A reputable company will acknowledge their errors promptly, and offer genuine apology in the form of a gift certificate or discount for the inconvenience. Not Home Decorators Collection. During the phone convo I suggested this and was granted a 20% discount on future products that expired in 10 days. In other words, nothing. That is also what accompanied the notice that half of my window treatments would not be shipped until 7 weeks after they were ordered - nothing. Nothing, no discount coupons, will entice me to ever shop here again. I LOVE my extensive shopping experiences with affiliate, Home Depot.com, but HD Collection is not worth the hassle. This review is based on an online order. I placed quite a large order with home decorators which I knew was a gamble considering I had never ordered from this company before. It was a huge mistake and I will not be ordering again. When I purchased a rug on the website it said it was in stock and would ship in 2-3 days however when I received my confirmation email AFTER I made the purchase it said it would not ship until over a month later. When I called to cancel the rug and be refunded as I needed the item prior to the date it would be shipped, I was told I would be refunded within 3-5 business days. After that passed, and still nothing I called again and was told it was never cancelled and again the refund would come in 3-5 business days. After again still no refund, I called again yesterday (third time) and was told the supervisor would refund the card that day and I would see it in the "pending" items of my credit card yesterday. Of course still not there today and called again for the FOURTH time and again was met with the 3-5 business day line by a supervisor herself who was doling out rehearsed sentences one after another. "I understand your frustration," "I'm sorry for the delay," while still managing to get no where except to wait 3-5 business days. I am absolutely furious and know that I will be calling back again next week when I do not receive again. I will never be ordering from this site again and would recommend if you do the same. If an item is on 'sale', you can not return it - I can't even cancel my order. So basically, if you get a decent price for an item, they have a no return policy (saving them lots of $).
