One of my wife's friends wanted us to go here so off we went for a day trip. I was expecting this Westminster Abbey to be like the one in London. It was not, but the place was still lovely. Very peaceful. Great spot to pray and meditate. This monastery overlooks the Fraser Valley and Fraser River. Outside the church, there is a trail which leads to an overlook. Great views from here. There is an even a bench to sit and take it all in. If you want to get away from the craziness that life sometimes brings, then go to Westminster Abbey in Mission, BC. Simply serene!

I immediately could tell from the structure that it was a historic landmark, as it had the authentic character and structure and Iines of a genuinely old, well-cared for edifice. History nerd that I am (as well as a student of architecture), I told my kid that we MUST return to this church after visiting the fort, as I need to check it out in more detail. I was so disappointed to discover, upon returning, that the church was locked up tighter than a drum. (I subsequently read on their website that, during the pandemic, they have very abbreviated hours of operation - like, they're open for two hours a week, - and to call ahead before visiting). Bummer. I so wanted to see the church interior. The posted sign outside says the church was established in 1873 and the building was built in 1901 (and it has been enlarged and renovated since). There is more history about this church on its website. The exterior is in pristine condition and is literally picture postcard "cute", complete even with a white picket fence. I've attached a few photos here but they do not do the building justice. (Trust me on this. I am not the best photographer). Hopefully soon the church will be more accessible and open for more hours during the week, so we can check it out further.

I've been insulted everyday since some of us went to the same school, then youth groups, bible studies, and congregation. A good friend of mine that I just recently met at that time invited me to this church that he's been with almost since the church just started. They used to rent out a space in Langley Christian Elementary the first year I went then this location (our own actual church building now) finished building. Amazing people, super friendly and helpful. Met many people there and some new friends. Love their songs too. Most are Koreans, Caucasians, adopted African children, and a few Chinese too. Quite a few different ethnicity of people and I love that about our church. Very supportive too but can be a little narrow-minded when it comes to some topics or opinions. Any church and anyone can have flaws but despite that it's a truly beautiful church and place with good people. We have fellowship meals too that are awesome and we sing and pray together before it. We drink red wine and eat bread no grape juice but we do have a rule to not drink for pleasure on church grounds. We one major pastor and another Korean pastor that's mostly there but only do preaching occasionally, we also have visitors/guest pastors. We have a park and a field/playground behind the church for kids and a few parking spots!

The architectual design of the building is very appealing to the eye! Inside, it is adorned with the usual statues and figures of the lovely Mary and Jesus Christ. Pretty glass windows by the ceiling. a large part of the ceiling is a sunroof so during the nice weather, you will get great sunlight inside. Three sections of pews make it very roomy inside. The stage is quite big and the acoustics are very nice for a choir and playing the piano live. The flowers inside are always fresh and beatuifully arranged. The pastor was very nice and had a great sense of humour as well. which helps because some of these services are sooo long!! both my nieces were baptized here as well... and every time we were here, it was always great. this is a pretty darn good review for someone who isnt catholic or christian or anything like that!

He did apologize for a staff in his care ministry's mistake but his body language and tone of voice did't come across as genuine. I don't feel comfortable with going to his "care ministry" with the focus on biblical legalism and without the focus on Jesus's teaching, including love and patience. On the other hand, I do like that Willingdon church has a handful of humble pastors who understand how to apply the humility and love of Jesus.

I was pregnant and looking for a church to start attending regularly and to raise my kid in. I did a bit of a Maple Ridge circuit of the Protestant churches. I found most of them pretty boring or bland but found St George's to be different. When David became pastor there it got even better. He has a perfect dry British humour that not everyone understands (I do, and the rest of the congregation is catching on). He brings a light to your morning service that I find other churches just don't have. It's pleasant to attend, not a chore you feel you "should" do. The best coffee for after the service! Fresh and plenty of it. The people are kind and welcoming, but not pushy. So you can go and check it out without being bombarded, or you can go and be welcomed like an old friend. It's a perfect blend of traditional and modern worship with enough of each to keep its attendees interested throughout the service.
