I was looking for a place in Tallahassee that had a dog day care and was happy I found this place…read more I was shocked when I saw the pictures of the place because I was hoping there was an option for Humans to stay. The best part for me is they have a groomer there so while Mick (my dog) gets to play, he also gets groomed right before he gets home. They also have a complimentary free day to test out so if you're on the fence, it's free, why not. During my first visit, I got the feel it was a genuine day care and when my dog left it was like leaving my child for his first day of school. They cycle the dogs out that get to play so I was anxious to see how he does. They have cameras you can watch online. My dog is also timid around men but he felt comfortable around one of the male coworkers (Sorry I don't know his name). I didn't know how the grooming would go so when I got a call from Molly, I was ready for the worse. She told me he was fantastic and loved him. It was so unexpected and it made me so happy to know he did so well. Overall, my dog seems to like it (not sure because he's still learning how to talk) and I have had positive experiences with multiple staff. They answered all my questions and were amazing to Mick. I think if you are hesitant or have questions, just give them a call because they were more than happy to answer all my (clingy crazy dog dad) questions.

When I picked him up a few hours later, he looked like he'd just come out of surgery because most of the fur was shaved off around his neck! Just a couple of snips with scissors and combing it out is all that is needed, and what I usually do. They also shaved halfway up his two back legs! PAW. PAD. FUR. Guess where that fur is. There are chunks of fur missing on his body that I can't even comprehend the purpose of. $105 for the removal and what they called a groom. Don't. That's my best advice.

The characteristics that you should look for in a vet and veterinary clinic are the same ones you…read moreshould look for in a doctor and a doctors office: caring, empathy, support, knowledge, communication and the ability to meet with a professional both for routine and urgent care. North Florida Animal Hospital has all this and more in abundance. Our cats have been using their services for over 10 years. And each time we have been back for a scheduled checkup we feel like family who have come back for a visit. The reception and technical team are friendly and efficient. And the vets are knowledge, caring and personable. Dr Steele had cared for our cats for years, and it is clear that she not only loves her job, but that she also loves her patients. When one of our cats died a few years ago, her sadness and compassion were evident. Now that our second cat is having issues, at the age of 17, we have again turned to her for advice and assistance. She treats our cat like he was her own and has made sure that we know exactly what is happening. In fact, she is the one who has called to tell us lab results and she's taken the time to meet with us when we brought him in for overnight treatment. We trust her, the other vets, and the team with the most vulnerable members of our family. And they could not be in better hands. I'm so glad that they are the team who takes care of, and is now caring for, our pets.

Just not a good experience. The one that got her shots started hacking within a couple of days. I…read morecalled to talk to doctor because it was awful to watch - she was spitting up foam. I was told by reception they would pass info on to Dr. Todd, but told me it is probably a side effect of getting the Bordatella shot. Fast forward a few more days and it's getting worse. So I called again. First person who took the message said she had Tracheobronchitis (now I know what that is as I worked 4 years for a vet when I lived in Chicago) - aka Kennel Cough. Doc didn't call back so I called again - second girl I spoke to said I'd have to wait until end of day because doctor schedule was full. I just hung up - doctor called back and said it was a 'flu that was going around' - why lie? It cost me $90 for the meds. When I went to get the meds the girl told me that the 'kennel cough' would start being relieved within a couple days of starting meds. So that evening - the second dog started with the coughing and spitting up - had to pay another $90 for meds for her kennel cough. Here in lies the problem - both dogs are 4 years old - and have been boarded at other places many times. NEVER had kennel cough - or whatever NFAH wants to call it - but if you're going there prepare yourself for this. It's highly contagious and if they were to properly sterilize exam rooms, properly verify animal vaccines before boarding and properly sterilize kennels it could reduce incidents. My dogs have not been in or near any other animals since January. This was a direct cause of taking them to NFAH. I trusted them. Paid over $250 for shots, then another $180 for meds to get rid of the kennel cough they contracted at NFAH. Shame shame.

When we moved to…read moreTallahassee and realized that our schedules did not allow us to be home to let him out many days during of the month, we were struggling to find a solution. Unfortunately, because of his anxiousness, Kizer is very particular about who let's him out of his kennel at home, so a neighbor stopping by wasn't an option. Doggie Dayz has been such a blessing. The prices are affordable and the employees truly care about the well being of each and every one of the animals that stay there. As an owner, I appreciate the flexibility of the pricing options and that they don't expire, since our days vary from month to month. Being able to participate in daycare has helped Kizer with his anxiety, not only in social situations but also with riding in the car since he knows that most of the time he is going to daycare. With their large dog area and small dog area, they are able to assess which dynamic is best for your pet. There is even a rest area for dogs that would like some "me" time. The facility is very clean and welcoming to both the dogs, as well as the pet owners. I love seeing the posts on social media celebrating the fun that the employees and pets are having. I would happily, and with full confidence, recommend Doggie Dayz to anyone looking for dog socialization, peace of mind and active care in the Tallahassee area.
