At first, I was prescribed a birth control that worked very well for me, unfortunately I was not informed of the consequences of continued use, which are disrupted hormones and cessation of my period. My current provider showed no concern about my lack of period, despite my uncomfortable and obvious symptoms proven by lab work. My provider was eager to refer me to expensive out of office treatments, even for a simple question like what could cause a high blood pressure number! She seems more worried about if your labs fit into a "normal" threshold than she does about finding the route of the problem. She even said my ovaries looked normal on the ultra sound, until I had to remind her that they couldn't find my left one! Dr. Rachel Marrero seems more stimulant addicted than ever, and she couldn't give a f*ck about anything that isn't her check. I do want to give a special shout out to Miguel at front desk. I saw Dr. Jyoti Sharma about a hand problem that she diagnosed as arthritis. She said there was…read morenothing she could do for me. A few days later, I requested a referral to a rheumatologist. I can get a referral from my family doctor, but since Dr. Sharma had the x-rays, and she and the rheumatologist are both part of the UPMC system, it seemed more appropriate to get the referral from her office. A few days later, I received a call from her office telling me that my insurance - they didn't say which one - had refused to approve the referral. None of my doctors have authorization to contact my insurance carriers for any purpose other than the payment of their own bills, and my insurance carriers do not require pre-approval for referrals. And even if they did, I am perfectly capable of paying a bill on my own if it comes to that. I'm not sure what's going on, but it seems pretty clear to me that either this office has no idea what they are doing, or they simply made up a story in order to avoid doing whatever minor bit of work is involved in making a referral. I will not be returning to this practice, and would not recommend them.

I told her I was blind and couldn't use the electronic signature pad. I wasn't asking for Braille, just print copies. She refused repeatedly, and was openly mocking and antagonistic. She demanded my driver's license - it wasn't a polite request, it was a demand - and when I told her I didn't have one, she asked, "Well then, how did you get here?" She was triumphant, as if she had caught me in a lie. If it hadn't been so offensive, it would have been downright comical. I like Dr. Luzzi, but not enough to put up that level of abuse.
