Hollywood Wax Museum Entertainment Center is a small chain of wax museums that opened in Los Angeles, California in February 1965. It was founded by Indian-born Canadian businessman and entrepreneur Spoony Singh. After touring famous attractions on Hollywood Boulevard, Singh realized he had not seen any celebrities save for their foot and handprints at Grauman's Chinese Theatre. He wanted to give people a chance to get close and look into the eyes of their favorite entertainers. He purchased an empty brassiere factory and luggage shop near Hollywood Boulevard and reopened it as the Hollywood Wax Museum: a wax museum that put its focus on A-List stars as well as classic entertainers. Singh would retire in 1990 and pass away in 2006, but his family still runs the operation. Additional locations of Hollywood Wax Museum opened in Branson (MO) in 1996, Gatlinburg (TN) in 2007 (replaced by Pigeon Forge in 2012), and Myrtle Beach (SC) in 2014. My family and I recently visited the Hollywood Wax Museum's Myrtle Beach location while we were on an East Coast Road Trip. We decided to purchase the All Access Pass which also gave us access to "Hannah's Maze of Mirrors" and "Outbreak - Dread the Undead". As soon as we walked in, we got to take a picture with a life-size sculpture of King Kong! Afterwards we had a blast seeing lifelike sculptures of all of our favorite celebrities and characters, such as Indiana Jones, Audrey Hepburn, Lucille Ball, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Freddie Mercury, Dolly Parton, Frank Sinatra, the Terminator, Clint Eastwood, Al Pacino, Beyoncé and much more! I especially enjoyed the Chamber of Horrors which featured Count Dracula, the Mummy, and my personal favorite: Frankenstein's Monster! Afterwards, we had a lot of fun exploring the mirror maze. We actually had a hard time finding our way out of there. I had fun exploring the zombie attraction, but the thought of it was way too scary for my wife and sons. They decided to have another trip through the mirror maze instead. We ended up spending over 2 hours at the museum. We highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys wax museums! read more

The Hollywood Wax Museum was a really fun experience! The wax figures were very lifelike, and the entire attraction was interactive from start to finish. I loved that you could use the props and available items to pose and take pictures with the figures. It made everything more entertaining and memorable. We also did the maze and the escape room, and both added even more fun to the visit. If you're there, definitely make sure to do them--they're worth it and complete the experience. All the wax people looked good and the mirror is fun but that other one that you walk through and get scared is even better! We were screaming our heads off. Places like this are what Myrtle Beach is all about , I love king kong hanging off the building out front especially. The wax musuem was a blast, always a fun time with the props that bring the photos to life. The sets for the wax figures are outstanding . They make for great profile pictures or conversation pieces for friends. The mirror maze is geared towards children and rightly so. Still it is a fun experience to go thru from time to time. I would love it if they had an escape room to go with the mirror maze. The zombie haunted house may be too intense for the little ones but you really have to appreciate the props and story . The scareactors inside the haunted house were fantastic and found ways to keep you guessing. I'd put it on the must go to list if i was asked about what to do in Myrtle Beach. read more

This is a great place to visit, rather on a date, hanging with friends or a family outing. There is something for everyone. The wax museum looks so realistic and the fact they have props you can hold and wear to take pictures with is a big plus. The mirror maze was hilarious; I haven't laughed that hard in ages, it was so fun we definitely made some wonderful memories to last us a lifetime. There is a coupon online to help knock a couple of doors off. I initially thought I was up for going through the maze exhibit as well as the zombie museum, but I soon found out I don't have the patience for mazes and being scared in an exhibit anymore. The wax figures overall look like most of the people. If you decide to check this place out , go to all 3 exhibits, as I believe it's almost the same price for just one exhibit. Also the stairs on the staircase are kind of deep so be careful. The employees were a kool group. read more

My husband and I have visited the Myrtle Beach Hollywood Wax Museum by ourselves and with family members and all have agreed it is a very fun experience. Go with a light heart and you'll enjoy seeing figures that look exactly like the person and you'll laugh together about the ones that seem to be a miss. The mirror maze really is fun even if you're on the older side like us; don't miss it!! I would also like to say that over the years the management at the Hollywood Wax Museum has been a very supportive member of the Myrtle Beach community. Finally got around to visiting this wax museum, my first time at any. Across street from Broadway at the Beach. There are a lot of creative photo ops for people that are into that. We spent majority of time slowly examining each figure verifying these celebrities heights as some were surprisingly short. There are few props at most figures, and some interactive displays throughout. The mirror maze can be confusing a lot of visual illusions. We had to navigate w our hands to advance. The negative is the more people the easier it becomes bc can just follow; if want to challenge yourself choose own path. The zombie portion was probably the least memorable of other two. There were about 3 jump scares that got me but the zombies are not very scary at all. We did the "all 3 attractions" ticket which was $36.99 x 2. There are also pictures available for purchase w King Kong taken before entering. The repeatable value is low here but for a one time bucket list item it's a fun time. read more

Went here with my family on Tuesday July 18th 2023. You can pay for 1 attraction, which is just the musuem, or an all access pass for $40.00 that gives you access to the wax musuem, Hannah's mirror maze, and Outbreak, which is a haunted maze. we paid for 2 all access, and 1 regular. Staff was very friendly. It was so cool that one can take a photo inside King Kong's hand, and take it home as a souveneir photo if you pay for it. Enjoyed all the wax figures, and taking photos with some of my favorite celebrities like Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Tom Hanks, Robin Williams, Reese Witherspoon, and a few horror characters such as Ghostface, Alien, Jason, and Michael Myers. I loved some of the props that one can dress up with the celebrity! overall enjoyed the wax musuem. Next, my dad and i went into hannah's mirror maze. Boy it was tricky getting out of there! Next was Outbreak. First time trying a horror maze like that, and boy, i got scared. either some air or animictric did that, but oh well. we walked fast and found the exit, following some people. Will say, do follow some people if you want to get out of there quickly. Although zombies do seem to scare me the most, as i remember i watched the walking dead one time, and got scared. oh well lol. also, there are no actors that touch you or anything, they just make noises, and some of the animations can be bloody, so do be careful if you have kids. As cheesy as it may seem, the wax museum is a lot of fun. We did the 3 for $39.99 deal and were able to go to the "Zombie outbreak", the mirror maze, as well as the wax museum. Took our 10 year old granddaughter to satisfy her curiosity about wax museums. She was impressed, but opted out of the zombie breakout room. I did go halfway through, then exited as I have enough scary things in real life and decided the zombie haunted house was not for me.. I'm glad my granddaughter was wise enough to decide not to go in because she would have been freaking out. Think carefully about what kids can handle before taking them in. The wax figures of movie stars and musicians were entertaining. They are in small settings and some have props and costumes that you can use to take a photo. About half of them truly look like the stars. The Hannah's house of mirrors may was impressive and we had fun trying to find our way. They take your photo on arrival and for $16 you can purchase it when you exit. We paid $80 to get in with the combo packages. read more

This is a super cool max museum!!! I went here August for my kids vacation. The best time to go inside here is literally first minute they open on a Saturday lol I kid you not, we were the first ones there and got to take pictures with all the wax models. Lol For the price you pay? You would like to see it all! And take pictures and videos right? Parking was easy for us since we came in early. After 30mins of touring? The crowd started rolling in!!! I swear the 30 mins of alone time? Was worth it!!!! There is a huge gorilla out front and they take a picture of you with the gorilla and you can buy it after your done with the tour of the place. My kids did not like the horror section though. They were so scared. My daughters are 9 and 5years old, they weren't having it! Haha!!! Amazing museum with lifelike wax figures! We had so much fun using the props and taking fun photos together!

Loads of fun. We had been to their place in Pigeon Forge a few years back, which was also pretty fun. Of course, not EVERY celebrity looks like their counterparts, but they are fantastic likenesses. Plus, to add to the fun, every once in a while a prop is available to hold for a picture. The Holy Grail with Indiana Jones, a facehugger with a Xenomorph, etc. In addition to the museum, they also have a Mirror Maze and a Zombie Outbreak haunted house type of thing. That mirror maze did exactly what it meant to do- frustrate the heck out of those trying to get through. I had never had that much trouble with one of those things!! But it was fun. The Zombie Outbreak was a bit of a blast. My son was latched onto my back the entire time. It took a lot longer to get through than I expected because it's a giant, winding maze with a lot of cool details and a few places that the workers there bang on the window to give you a jump scare. For the price, ($60 for us), it was cool. Maybe a little steep, but eh...if you're on vacation, why not do something fun and in the AC? read more

This place is hard to miss with King Kong hanging from the top of it. They also have free parking (score). I have been to a few wax museums before but this one was definitely the best. It is very interactive. It is 2 levels/ 3 areas of exhibits. they just kept coming. They have many photo op spots where they have props and you can put on and take pictures with the statues. They have tons of wax statues and most of them look like their real life models such as Kevin Hart, Prince, Will Smith, Brad Pitt, John Wayne, Legally Blonde, Ellen Degeneres set, Hugh Hefner, Snoop Dog, Martha Stewart, and Michael Jackson. They are all attached to some type of theme as well. My favorites were the Star Trek, Terminator, the Rock, Katie Perry/Rhianna stage and the Karate Kid. It will take an hour or 2 to thoroughly cover the entire Museum. The also have a room with lasers that you can attempt to weave through without breaking the beams and touch the wall. I was not very good at that. You you purchase you ticket you have a couple of options. For a few dollars you can add on the Zombie Walk and Mirror Maze. We went to the Mirror Maze and it was Ok. Definitely not a stand alone attraction, but entertaining. It took about 10-15 minutes to go through. We had our 3 year old an opted not to scar her for life and do the Zombie Walk. They also take your picture with a large King Kong statue that you can purchase at the gift shop (that you conveniently have to walk through to exit the museum. read more

The building caught my attention because it has a giant King Kong hanging on the building. When we walked in we were greeted. The staff was super nice. There were two other attractions so we decided to upgrade for all 3 experiences. Before you begin you have to take a picture with the giant King Kong inside. They take the photo for you to purchase at the end if you like. We had so much fun walking through looking at all the wax figures and it was cool that they had props for us to use when taking a picture with the wax figures. The only downside was that the majority of the wax figures look nothing like the celebrity it's supposed to be. But we got over that real quickly because we were having so much fun with the props. The second experience was a mirror maze. It was more for kids. Little girls to be exact based on how it was decorated and the sounds but we enjoyed it. The third experience was a zombie lab. We had to walk through the laboratory anticipating if anything or anyone would jump out at us. We had a few minor scares but it was mostly dummy dolls that looked the zombies so nothing reached out and grabbed us. Overall we enjoyed all 3 experiences. read more

Man, I'm grinning ear to ear. This place was just plain fun. So many great pictures taken with the wax celebs. We ran around like kids posing and goofing around. The bottom level was a zombie simulation with tons of jump scares. My 11 year old backed out last minute because the introduction was too scary. I and my husband went in and it was, no lie, some scary good fun. A heck of a lot better than a lot of haunted houses that I've been to. Took us a couple of hours and we all call it a total success. A real fun way to break up the beach and pool time while visiting! read more
