The entrance for your car is coming along St. Catherine's Street, and it is odd, as the office/reception, when you enter the bay is on your passenger side (huh?) unlike all the other one's I have been to. So if you don't have power windows, well stretch on to the side and roll em' down... when I came here a few days ago it was busy, in the fact there wasn't much cars, and seems like most people who were working decided to take the day off! I pulled into dock 5, and noticed a car beside me with two people just waiting there, luckily for me I had my PS Vita around to waste time or I may have paced around and burned a hole in the floor. Slow, yeah it most certainly was on this day, as you'd think that when you have a set appointment time it would be handled in that way, but I'll let it go as it was the holiday season. The adjuster was real nice, asking all the appropriate questions about the hit on my car, and making it very easy to get through the process. In all, just another visit to ICBC that I always hope never happens, but he went through my car, and damage pretty thorough and gave me my claims sheet and told me to give the sheet to the body shop of my choice. When exiting this place, here's another weird, due to design thing of this building, you pull your car to the exit gate, it automatically opens, and you go through this spiral before you get out to the street, whoever designed this building and the exit/entrance wasn't really thinking.... It wasn't the closest claim center to me, but the one that had the next availability.

It literally took 5 minutes. I went in, took a photo, sat down for like a minute and was then called to the counter. The rep was quick and super friendly. My permit was done within minutes. Yesterday we were doing the transfer again and went there 35 minutes before closing. We were told by the very young lady at the desk that this would take an hour and as they had several people already waiting they couldn't do it that day. Now, my father spent 25 years owning and operating an ICBC brokerage agency plus we've done this 20 times or more. I told her it took 20 minutes if you know how to do it and explained exactly what needed to be done. She clearly was lost but still wanted to get us out of there. She started making other excuses as to why they couldn't do it that day but we just said goodbye. We went down the street where a very competent lady had our transfer plus a storage policy done in 11 minutes! We've done business here before and the service has been sometimes good and sometimes only fair. Now they seem intent on making sure they're locking the doors at one minute to closing. As BCAA members we expected better. EDIT: Well believe it or not we gave them another chance! Tried doing the same transfer recently. We knew we were in trouble when despite the fact that there were 4 employees and only one other customer in the office, we had to wait 10 minutes before someone was "available" to help us. He was very nice but seemed to have trouble even understanding what we wanted done. Once he did understand it took 40 minutes for him to do it and he had to call someone to help him three times. 50 minutes in total? We won't be back.

Today was my first time dealing with EV Insurance and it was awesome. After a brief consultation on the phone I went into the location. Rob walked me through several options for my vehicle insurance, I learned some new things along the way, and was able to make an informed decision on my RV insurance purchase for the upcoming season. I think I'll move my other insurance business over here when it's time to renew next!
