Here for a stag do (not that we mentioned it much), we'd booked out an entire building to stay in (Back Tor). Whilst the main purpose of this place is for outdoor activities for troubled/vulnerable youths and that kind of thing, it's also a great place to stay in hostel terms. Right in the centre of Castleton, 2 miles from Hope station, the accommodation was reasonably priced and pretty good - 6 bunks to a room, with each room having an en-suite shower/toilet plus two sinks. And a decent shower at that. On top of that, the building have a shared lounge / kitchen area.
Given we were 25 blokes, the staff seemed pretty relaxed, e.g. nobody complained when we went to the teepee thing on Sat night and started a fire there.
They do packed lunches if you're walking up the hill or whatever, as well as catered meals if so desired. read more
