When I visited, there were people working on laptops, reading books, hanging out with their friends, and more. Like pretty much every station they have some good hits that are awesome, and then a bunch in the rotation that play too often. I get a little worn out with Lynyrd Skynyrd Freebird since it plays so often and definitely Stone Temple Pilots and Nirvana. Don't get me wrong. I love those bands! They just get play a lot, same songs too. Love it when they get some Guns N Roses or Ozzy going to wake me up in the traffic. The main thing that gets me tuned in is BJ Shea and Sarah. They're a good duo. My sizzling Hot take - Danny Bonaduce stepping down was a good move. I liked him, he was funny, and his "hot take" segments were funny, but his Life coach segment was ill advised. He'd often advise guys who had a friend cheating on their spouse to say nothing and even help them cover it up if need be. Like dude, that is not bro code. So, BJ Shea has taken it over and it's an improvement. Sorry Danny! Rock on KZOK.

Then after them you have the Free and Ursula show with Chef ( probably a cook, not a Chef) all they talk about is White rich people are bad for creating jobs for people who then pay taxes and buy stuff at local stores(sales tax)so local government can piss away with NO accountability, Free (Gee) thinks if you just pay everyone 25-30 per hour that would be the answer, maybe a semester of basic economics would be good for Mr Free. I can't believe Dori Monson is gone, RIP Dori, but could the radio station at least find someone with the same political position as him as a replacement? I used to like listening to KIRO because I heard a range of opinions. Now it is the same old…read moremessage over and over again. "The government is the answer to all your problems and you should be ashamed of yourself if you don't parrot our view." When Dori died I was afraid KIRO would just go to the same talent pool of liberal idealists to fill his slot. My fears were justified when I turned on the radio the other day and found out that spike was now the host. Ughhhh, can't stand to listen to his well practiced sincerity oozing out of the radio. He sounds like he is trying too hard to convince everyone he is a thoughtful person but it just doesn't come across as real. The good news is now I have freed up a memory spot on my radio and filled it with another music channel. Thanks KIRO for helping me out on that.

Tiffany Warner is whom I usually hear during my morning commute. She's good, but nothing particularly special. No morning show, unless I miss it, just music and commercials. Always hoping to catch a string of songs and not commercials. If it's not commercials, sadly Hot 103.7 is either Hot or cold with their tracks. when they're hot like this morning where they hit a string some classics/throwbacks of all lady MC's - Lauryn Hill, Eve, Aaliyah and of course Missy Elliott since she's coming to town in a few weeks. This is where it gets cold. If anyone is coming to town they play their stuff, CONSTANTLY, and it's not even varying their library. If I hear "Work It" one more time.... Even when it's not that I place bets with myself before tuning to 103.7 that I'll most likely hear 50 Cent, Nelly or DMX. I feel like 7/10 times It's one of their songs being played. Or of course Sir Mix Alot/Macklemore for obvious reasons. Despite my issues, Hot 103 is ok.

95.7 The Jet! Probably my favorite radio station right next to KEXP. Seattle's Feel-Good Variety of…read morethe 80's and more. They deliver with tunes with lots of 80's pop, rock, hip-hop, soul, ballads and more. Plenty of artists... Huey Lewis & the news, Van Morrison, Madonna, Run DMC, Sade, Billy Paul...I think they do a good job mixing it up overall. I know there's complaints of repeated songs, but 95.7 is way better than the other stations I listen to. The Jet's morning show with Jodi and Bender is without a doubt the best of all the stations I tune into during my morning commute. I love playing along and laughing at the 'Puget Sound Showdown' - a quiz game where two random callers compete with one another (and Jodi or Bender who take turns) the other will be the question asker. First person to 5 correct answers wins - usually tickets to a show, bragging rights and move on to play again for the title. Listening in and playing along usually results in a laugh to get my day started which is always good. Jodi and Bender also do is a string of songs within a segment called "three songs we don't normally play, but probably should". The Listener chooses a song, Jodi chooses one, and Bender chooses one. Often times the listener chooses something uncommon like a random Tom Petty song, but still occasionally gets played but Jodi and Bender pull some random, and I mean random stuff out sometimes. I was listening one morning, and Jodi put on freakin' The Never-ending Story theme song by Limahl. I don't think it gets any more random and 80's than that. Yeah 95.7 The Jet is awesome. They don't have a DJ but I have to say I am a far bigger fan of DJ's than computer controlled randomizers. Listening to this station can be done in almost every major city, that's right the exact same station is in over 50 markets. If you enjoy a mix of music from the 80's and 90's music that's not particularly any good, or in any sort of well strung together fashion, all the while enjoying NOT supporting your local music, or anything local for that matter than this is the station for you!
